    Ryanair uses the force of a hard landing to wake sleeping passengers up so that they can feel fresher once they reach the gate - it’s the little things that make up great service.

    • @lkrnpk
      @lkrnpk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +173

      Yup nothing wakes and freshes you up as a thought you might die. I once almost fell asleep at the wheel, woke up as a truck was blowing its horn, I was in the wrong lane... Sleep was instantly gone and later I was as fresh and concentrated as ever. Since then I do not drive when tired.

      Yeah i agree that it totally dosent make your heart skip 5 beats, feel like the landing gears are going to explode, and if your sleeping u dont jolt out awake with 100% of fear and 0% fun, also that u feel like you just broke your butt on the landing cuz it was so hard.

    • @SloBar
      @SloBar 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1624

      @Khalid Hadian fair question. It's mainly a combination of type of aircraft and airports we fly into.
      The 737-800 that we mainly fly is an aircraft that needs a firm touchdown by Boeing procedures. Due to the design you also feel it more than with other aircraft e.g. A320.
      We also fly into a lot of smaller airports, with often shorter runways than the major airports. This makes it even more important to make a firm touchdown on exactly the right spot.

    One time my ryanair flight’s pilot pulled a thirty-degree bank in less than 3 seconds and hurled my inflight beverage straight to the other side of the aisle. If our flight was anywhere further east of Hungary, I would’ve genuinely believed that the pilot saved us from an Ukrainian Separatist’s surface-to-air missile. I spent $40 for that flight though, so I couldn’t really complain.

    Just in case people actually think Ryanair have particularly bad landings, they don't.
    They only use a fleet of 737-800s, which tend to always have harder landings than most other aircraft. This is because of the outdated, low to the ground design they have, combined with their length, making it so that they have to land at higher speeds as they aren't able to flare as much

    And yet, Ryanair have never had a crash. A good landing is one you walk away from.

    They do this in short runways, plus they are cheap so they go to smaller airports

    You get what you pay for,I took a flight from Berlin to Krakow for $25 and I placed the ticket just a few hours before. It was so much cheaper than taking the ICE.

    The problem is that Ryanair only operates 737s wich are designed to land firmly and they also land with a higher speed to prevent tailstrikes. And a soft landing consumes mire fuel than a harder one, and Ryanair is a low-cost company.
    So they actually don't land that hard.

    First ever flight with them was rollercoaster at landing because of heavy winds in Dublin (almost free fall combined with big push into seat) but landing itself was smooth - passengers clapped like usual (absolutely normal thing). Didn't even open one doors for safety reasons.

    Ryanair actually make hard landing on purpose because they land at airports that don't give the pilots enough time to make smoother landings.

    Ryanair Pilots: But if the gear touches down too softly, the speedbrakes wont auto deploy.
    Every-other pilot in the history of ever;
    Touches down softly and speedbrakes auto deploy.

    Oh, that's just because they notoriously plan / fly with to less fuel (you know, cost savings, skipping line at holding, ...). They could make it smoothly, but then they would run out of fuel and need a costly tug from the runway to the gate :)
