I don't get it how Nintendo remastered Color Pulse like that and called it done. The way they remastered City of Color for the Squid Sisters was done so well and still has lots of reference to the original one. I hoped Color Pulse was remastered the same way with just more added instruments and clear vocals, but I'm not happy with how they remastered it. The instrumentals sound so dead it's not the Splatfest party hype anymore. You did a great job trying to make it sound more like the original one ❤ Edit: When I heard it in game it didn't sound that bad. The sound reverb on Inkopolis Square makes it ten times better than the trailer version. So I changed my mind, it actually is pretty good

Yea so I honestly have no single clue what Nintendo was going for like? Splatfests are supposed to be a huge ass celebration among Inklings and Octolings while defending their own seperate side of a specific theme purely for fun; And they just took out the "punch" (idk how to put it into words) Color Pulse has, like even the TITLE says you're supposed to feel some kind of pulse and they just killed what was giving that feeling in the OG- So thanks for cookin' now we can feel it
I think it's a product of them making Side Order, that Color Pulse remix when Eight meets Pearl again sounded really chill. They probably based Color Pulse 2024 around that track and in turn missed the essence of the og
oh this is HEAT. i adore the mashup of og's punchy, life-filled synths combined with the funky guitar and bass. THIS is the ultimate color pulse. i respect how you kept both versions' unique identities intact!

I defended this song in another place saying it wasn't that bad, but honestly, this shows me that the song was SO DULL, like it feel like an after-party song when everyone is tired. Honestly what you did adding some drums and that synth bass or whatever that is, that adds depth, and honestly overall it feels more energetic

They mostly brought back "missing" instruments / sounds. More bass, more drums, the 6 notes synth you hear when Marina sings... I can't name things in english but you should get it

The REASON why the newer Color Pulse is different, is because both Marina and Pearl have grown. Pearl isn't as energetic as she used to be, 'cuz she's a little more refined now-more mature and it shows. Marina is more confident now and doesn't hide in the back anymore. Not to mention their va's have aged 7 years, and that does affect their characters. In my opinion, these 'if it were better' videos don't need to happen. They are both growing as people and that's a really neat detail to add in this game!

It’s not TERRIBLE it just doesn’t give.. off the hook, pearl doesn’t even sound like shes rapping, the instrumental feels lacking, and they honestly sound louder in the original. Unlike City of Color 2023, it still felt like squid sisters, and they added more to it! But most importantly, they were singing it nicely PLUS they could actually be heard

Its really not bad but people are exaggerating by saying stuff like "it's the worst Splatoon song ever" "man they ruined off the hook" etc. , I'm just tired of this nostalgia bias where people are extremely close minded about new stuff. For example people hating on side order because it wasn't a traditional hero mode/OE style singleplayer mode. And it sucks cause I liked Color Pulse 2024 since instruments get to shine with the reduced synths. And obviously the vocals will change, the VAs have grown a lot since Splatoon 2. The squid sister VA's had more prep time to redo city of color 2023 but the off the hook VAs didn't (The squid sister's most recent song prior to CitOfCol2023 was wave goodbye a few months back While off the hook's was into the light 5 years ago.) I think the community has been rough with off the hook recently which sucks since they're a great duo
