Angel came to me and said some stuff - and I said no. That was 26 years ago. Eventually I did change my life. But I wasn’t ready then. Frightening to realize how easy it was to walk away from grace. Pray for final perseverance!
I do belive that God created Mary, just like all of us, with free will, she could have said no, I am eternally grateful, however, that she said yes....
This only happens when we're approaching a hard break--that is, one where we CANNOT move the break. The music serves as a good backup signal for me just in case I need the reminder. 🙂
14:09 Understanding "free will" as the ability to say no is a distortion of what free will actually is. Saying yes to God and saying no to God are not choices of equal value. Free will is the ability to say yes to God, it is to ability to choose what is good, when sin pushed us to say no. Sin makes our will captive in that we loose the ability to say yes to God. Being sinless, the Virgin Mary had the full freedom to say yes, and so why would she say no ? Yes, she has a choice to do, and we can play, as saint Bernard did, to expect her answer and pray "please, say yes". But we can also be certain that she would always freely say yes, freely choose what is the best. And guess what ? She did. EDIT : this raises the question : why Adam and Eve sinned ? Well, in Gn 3, there is also a serpent. And Mary is called "full of grace". Maybe Mary is not equivalent to Eve before sin. Jesus is not only the new Adam, he is more than Adam (not the least because he is God). So maybe Mary is more than Eve, being "full of grace". After all, salvation leads us to something better than Eden.
Curious, if Mary was immaculately conceived, why did Jesus need to die for her still as well? Wouldn’t this mean she was free from any form of sin. Jesus died for sinners, Mary wasn’t a sinner.
Mary is not created from nothing. She is human, from human descendance. She had parents, and share our common humanity. Therefore, she should have part to original sin. So, she had to be saved. But Jesus offering his life on the cross is the source of salvation for everybody, Mary included. She is sinless because of the cross.
@@paulgrassart8935The cross of Christ is the remedy for sin, it is medicinal. Just as medicine can work its effects in both a preventable and curable way so does the cross of Christ (redemption). The redemption can apply the effects retroactively.
The only thing that tells me NO is she was perfectly create to give Jesus His perfect flesh and blood. But we do have free will yet her perfection would never have said NO
No man has never not sinned, or Mary. She was His mother by flesh Only, which is awesome, but she needed to believe on Jesus also. God knows the end from the beginning. There are 3 will's of God. An acceptable will, meaning one did the right thing but murmured. The good will is one who does joyfully but doesn't really get it all right. The perfect will is one who does perfectly right with a pure heart. Thanks.
I love the way Jimmy opened his eyes wide when saying "God might have called off Redemption"
I'm pretty sure if an angel shows up and tells me some divine providence stuff, I'm not gonna be saying "No".
easy for you to say!
Yep, she knew that the scriptures foretold of Messiah comming through the woman also. Thanks.

That's a very good question Jimmy , I'm guessing no . Or the future can't unfold .

I like Jimmy's professional wrestling voice :)
Even if she found it irresistible to say yes, the value of her yes was a significant and saving factor. Or God wouldn't have arranged for it.
At that point you lose any explanation for the problem of evil. God wants freely chosen love, that's why we have free will
Jimmy is pretty good w timing of his answers. Why do you insist on cutitng into his response with music?

Petition for Jimmy to do a Macho man impression next time a wrestling analogy comes up 😂
Is it possible that most don’t really care about the changes in this day and age ? So many other distractions and worldly things in our lives.

Predestination.

Exactly. Her free will would never have said “No”, and God knew that 🙏🏼

@@HaMashiachSavesmakes no sense. Free will means free will. A perfect free will, untainted by original sin, CAN still sin, look at Adam and Eve.
@@HaMashiachSaves huh? Nice turd you just laid for an answer. Embarrassing
@@dr.tafazzi I agree. And she chose not to sin. It’s not rocket science 😏
