- Today we have another Epic Coin Mystery Back Challenge with @SilverSeeker! In this battle we're both doing a $50 Coin Mystery Pack from eBay and we're battling it out to see who got the better Mystery Pack!

It is interesting to see what these dealers/sellers put into these mystery bags. I myself do not purchase these, as I like to know exactly what I’m getting. However, the reveals of these are fun to watch.

This an interesting comparison, RFT and SS have similar grab bags which they evaluated consistently with similar value reflecting on their professionalism. I enjoyed the commentary from each of you,

Fun video... grab bags are great. The Daniel Carr signed slabs are worth a premium over the others as he has a huge collector following because of his Moonlight Mint strikes. I sell his ICG signed slabs all the time at shows for around $10 each.

I just came on here from silver seeker and again I ask you the same question...how do you appraise your items so low? I Have never seen anybody low-ball themselves so hard on coins...the seller honoured much more than his $50 total DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY YOU GOT A GREAT DEAL!!! THE KING HAS SPOKEN!
I was definitely happy with the seller's package and left positive feedback. I price things according to what I think they are worth, not necessarily what some will pay/have paid. It's a supply and demand market with variables constantly allowing for price variances. I'm sure some items would sell for more sold individually, to the right collector, and with time to move said items taken into consideration. That being said, I agree that the seller honored the listing price with regards to the contents of the package - although it would have been nice to get some silver.
I want to see more of these grab bag videos. Anyways, I think you beat Silver Seeker this time. Congratulations!

Skunked on Silver....again. Appreciate the brutal honesty. Many other TH-camrs would have called that 100 bucks, just to feel good about it, but in the end, they'd only be BS'ing themselves.

S VDB, 1914 D, or the 1922 D!

Congrats Rob! I'd have to say that you got the better deal with the only difference between the two packages being your '79 Proof -vs- Silver Seekers overpriced NIFC!
Basically both grab bags were identical. I did prefer the grab bag you got though because of the condition and the Lincoln presidential dollars are imo more desirable. Seeker did come out better on the wheat pennies though but they aren't of much value anyway so the win goes to you.

For those that buy the Proof Sets directly from Mint, seeing them sell for $5 is heartbreaking. I know they are not an "investment", it just seems like this are inverted. Not sure why they do not hold their value.

All in all, the value us there. But I would have still been very disappointed in this grab bag. More reason for me to not buy them. 🙂

Same bags - pretty vanilla. Can't be mad but didn't really add much either. Great for a beginning collector - kind a pain for an avid collector.

You certainly got your money's worth in this bag, but I agree that it was a bummer that it contained no silver at all. I also like the large cents. I have one from my father-in-law's collection, but I would love to get at least one more in a grab bag. You did get some really nice items, and I call it a tie.

My Dad was a practicing auto-mechanic during the seventies and I remember my younger brother had a large set of said aluminum "antique car" tokens at the time. Dad was a good customer and Sunoco treated him right. That series may well have been among the very last of the gasoline premiums of yore.
