I think it’s great you are teaching your son to work on the farm. I started learning around his age and looking back it taught me a lot about life in general. Learned more working those long days in the field than I ever did in a classroom! Keep it up!!
Henry looks like a good kid. We all started somewhere learning to jockey for position in the barnyard lol. Give him a couple years and he’ll be at it on his own. Maintenance is looking good as well. Harvest ain’t too far out now since it’s August already. And I just learned something new about the old deere gearbox grease lol. Dad always mixed it up, some years grease, some years gearbox oil. Going to have to take a gander at the old 443 when I get it up on the 6620 now. I’ve been doing it wrong since I took over the maintenance lol.

Hey just wanted to let you know if you don’t have anyone with you to oil the chains you can take a broom stick and put it in the seat and have it go up to the roof of the cab. Works great do it all the time
Hey kinda neighbor lol. Do you happen to oil ur gathering chains? The farm I work at has a Roto disc corn head and my boss has us take the chains off and soak em in a bucket of used motor oil every year. Roto disc heads are VERY HIGH maintenance.

I got a hot wire about a foot off the ground and another about waist high. I've never had a goat out yet. They're about like cattle, once they get shocked once or twice they wont go near the fence.

We always pull that pin on the peice of channel so the pit can flex from the auger. Not sure if it matters if you do or don't but usually helps it fit under your unload auger better

Out here in Connecticut if the truck has farm plates you don’t need a CDL crazy shit I know but it’s pretty awesome
You would need a cdl if going further then the mile requirement. Here in ND our limit is 150 miles from home base

I've sprayed them down with penetrating oil before but i dont do it a lot. Seems like it never stays on.

Yeah we do too. I always put the pin back in the hole and just lay the channel back up there. It probably looks pinned up in the video but its not.
