I’ve always let gaetan live. The village leader who tried to cheat him out of coin has a bunch of expensive goods in his hut, Rugs, animal trophies etc, so he probably could afford to pay him but chose not to out of greed. Also, gaetan is going to help a lot more people alive than if he is killed, killing monsters and stuff. Still a bit messed up that he killed the whole village though.
Ah interesting, I always kill him. A Witcher with a bad temper, more dangerous than half the monsters. I could understand him killing the people in the barn who attacked him, but massacring the whole village is indefensible IMO.
@@griffydz1789 I don't think so. The ealdorman and his men did in the barn, but the women killed outside in the village didn't surely. There was also another man slumped down in one of the houses who Geralt notes didn't try to defend himself.
@@alexmckee4683 I honestly prefer him killing everyone. Witchers dont have a good reputation as it is, wouldnt make it better if a whole village lies about a witcher killing his employers. But yeah both ends of the quest are bad if you look at it.
I let him live aswell because Geralt would also kill the villagers if they tried to kill him to get out of their payment. He doesnt tell if that was the first time or not but I hardly feel for people that resort to murder when they dont feel like paying.
Skellige was awesome,it felt very different from Velen(music was great too),in Velen i had a feeling like theres no hope just sadness, the scenery with swamps added to it i guess, aswell as the kinda desperate/sad music when you roam around in Velen
let gaetan live, because we experienced it ourself as geralt, how many ppl shit on witcher, try to cheat us and backstab us,and ofc cdpr being great,if u let gaetan live,u will find more info that reveal more that he is not really that bad, about killing the villager, well did u know geralt is called "butcher of blaviken"? yeah we arent so different from gaetan.
To be fair, the blaviken situation is completely different from what Gaetan did. Not saying what Gaetan did was completely wrong, but definitely wasn't completely right either.
@@E____96606 well thats the point of the quest, but my point is if geralt in gaetan position he will do the same, and also spared the innocent child, dont believe me? try to remember how we play the game,we kill ppl easily,we just dont realise it,when ppl try to stab us,we KILL them, just like what happened in white orchard from the early game.
The human societies in this world were built on top of ancient elven ruins, just FYI. Many such details in any game can fly over our heads and we don't realize the finer aspects of the lore until a 2nd or 3rd playthrough. Wherever there is some grand underground or sunk architecture, it is elven in most cases, and even some of the surface ruins as well. Advancing the main story can automatically fail some sidequests at times, just so you know before doing any top stuff.
Hey, man, just passing to say that you videos popped up on my recomended and I've been making it through your witcher playlist the past few days and loving it. I really like that, even though you don't have much experience with The Witcher lore, you are very attentive and able to pick up on so much information that others (some who are very familiar with Witcher lore) let pass. Currently on episode 25 and hoping to catch up with your uploads before you finish the game lol Keep'em coming, man!
"Insectacoid" lol
For some odd reason, I just found that amusing Chris.

Yeah, it’s a tough one.

The Gaetan quest is a tough one,i personally let him live, but it was such a close call,i feel like both options are legit tho
Oh shit this is the DLC quest!
I did not watch the video (yet) so Chris killed him? Damn that's a shame.

Eyyyy thank you!! 😁 I'm glad to have you apart of the journey! The game is so good! Haha hope to see you there at the end, too! 😁
Btw, you can come back to the place you are right now later, and there will be a surprise at the noticeboard. 🙂
Interesting! I don't think I have found that myself, have to go and have a look.
Edit: I found what you were talking about!
