I've played as a Lala over 5 years now and never once been called a pedo or seen someone called one I'm sure it happens but not exactly the most common occurrence or as systematic as people make it out to be.

Only that third party is allowed to service the ice cream machine and from what I understand these third party service people aren't urgent about repairs and the like.

Some restaurants will say they can't sell ice cream after a point because it's doing it's automated cleaning cycle which happens more frequently, but it's automated so the workers aren't going to watch it start cleaning at 11 and start it up exactly at 1 when it's done when it's easier to start it when more customers arrive around 5/7

What about people who just dont see Lalafellins as children, at all? About looks: I think they look like weird gremillins. Their heads are huge and are bigger than a bloody Roe's head, their body is round and shaped like a pear and their eyes are super appart with minuscule mouths giving a cute but rather uncanny look if compared to the rest of the races that are more realistic. About the argument ''The game itself say they are ''child-like''!!'': The quote talks about their manerism. Thats only talking about the way they move. They have small limbs are super short, and their emotes and movements are kinda of silly. Thats it. The game go on lenghts to show Lalas begin treated as/acting as adults all of the time, from getting drunk to begin horny to flirting with and begin flirted with other NPCs in the game. Did you known that Thancred flirted with Momodi? Look it up! They are even shown begin feared and begin powerful both in might and in things like wealth and political influence. They ARE adults in lore, thats not a discussion. To sum it up: I respect people who think they look like children and rather not interact with them in that manner because of that, as Asmon said. Thats what you feel on a personal level and thats okay. But please dont lump people with freaking pedos because of that, its very saddening. There are lots of people who dont see Lalas as children in any level, and this whole drama is because of that: They dont like the slander.
I think one issue is that the game matures most of the Lalafells. Many of them have womanly or manly voices. The one clearly has female servants, and the one is said to have a different woman every night. Many of them are at the head of some mature themes. They have the same revealing clothes. While they are described as child-like in appearance, their actions are anything but. The game and society treats them more like Hobbits or Nelwyn people.
Their appearance and animation as well as the game dictating that they have a "childlike countenance" are all strong arguments. Sure, they're treated seriously like anyone else. Doesn't mean they don't still look and act like it at times, though.
they are not only described as "Child-like in appearance" they ARE child-like in appearance. And their actions in the form of animations are most definitely child-like. Of course in the story they act like adults (some of them don't but whatever) because they ARE adults, that doesn't take away the fact that, unlike hobbits, they look like children

The reason why this it's controversial hinges on agreement on the definition, which apathy prolongs needlessly. I don't play FF any more and do not have a stake, but when I see a Lalafell my mind goes to the same place as when I look at an Ewok, and age is never even an immediate factor. It's when people assign age to something nonhuman that it gets weird, I don't trust people that go there.

Pyro did twitter activism on twitch. He took it way too serious and was very personal with insults to Xenos. I didn't like Pyro because of the drama he caused before and this just further cements to me that he is not a good person. He took Xenos out of context by not watching his full video and specifically looked for something to get angry about, then he proceeded to insult Xenos. I respect Xenos a lot more for how he handled the drama from Pyro. This response doesn't even come across as an apology, he spends pretty much the entire time just trying to justify a lot of what he did. Hope he is able to self-reflect instead of trying to deflect as much blame as he can, otherwise he is going to do this again and end up as content for other people to milk views out of again.

There is a really simple answer to this and I'm only 3 minutes in. Pyromancer should not be going to the lodestone forums. I used to, back in maybe 2019 or so. It was calmer at the time. I went back in 2021 and people had lost their fucking minds. There were players talking about isolating/punishing developers if they didn't get what they wanted how and when they wanted. If you weren't angry enough while CRITICIZING developers, you got personal attacks. If you worried at all about developers, just as other people in the world, there was something wrong with you because you're apparently only allowed to worry or care about people who are your personal friends. There was no concept that when you pay for the game, you're paying to experience what was created by other people. A lot of forum users believed that meant they were in charge of how the game was made. There was no 'vote with your dollar' stuff going on, no productive expression of criticism, and no 'I'm too stressed and unhappy here so I'm going to find something else that does what I want instead'. No personal responsibility. Just attempts to bully and berate others into submission. At this point, the place is its own brand of crazy and it really smells the same as twitter on a bad day. If that's the community Pyro regularly sees and engages with it is absolutely going to drag him into drama too. If the dude knows drama gets to him, he needs to make a point of not going to places that are going to set him off.
I play a lalafell because they look funny, its funny to imagine this mini dude fucking beating up dragons n shit while wielding weapons so big that they would probably crush the lil guy. its not because they look like kids, it not because they are considered cute, its because they look small, funny and evil. My FC leader is a lala and she thought the chair was adorable. And another FC member thought it was funny and wanted me to craft a couple for his own place, he also plays a lala. I agree with Asmon here, I don't think they should be able to wear skimpy stuff, but all those players I know who play them don't really dress them like that. Its mostly just cute outfits.
As a Lalafell player who picked that race so I could run around as a smoll ninja and now running around with a massive Axe and freaking long Katana, I dont freaking care about that chair and people doesn't care if you make something for a specific race. I've made a loft in my FC room which is only accessible if you are a Lala and people thought it was a really nice idea.

I always thought this was a weird take, but in context to lalafells, it's even worse. So, be mad about NA for the lalafell all you want, but the existence of those kinds of people exist. Chibi means “small,” Japanese use it to describe character (ie. lalafells) but also things like candy, animals, stationary, etc. It has no “connotation,” and anyone who says it does is falsifying facts to fit their preconceived ideas.

People saying Lalas are Chibis are way off the mark. A chibi is a super deformed version of a character, usually in a pretty round way, either to be used in comical scenes, or to not have to create a detailed character model. Many games use this, and no they're not supposed to be kids, just to be cute. Now, Lalas do look like kids, even though it's not the case for the bearded ones many of them do. No arguing needed.

About looks: I think they look like weird gremillins. Their heads are huge and are bigger than a bloody Roe's head, their body is round and shaped like a pear and their eyes are super appart with minuscule mouths giving a cute but rather uncanny look if compared to the rest of the races that are more realistic.
About the argument ''The game itself say they are ''child-like''!!'': The quote talks about their manerism. Thats only talking about the way they move. They have small limbs are super short, and their emotes and movements are kinda of silly. Thats it. The game go on lenghts to show Lalas begin treated as/acting as adults all of the time, from getting drunk to begin horny to flirting with and begin flirted with other NPCs in the game. Did you known that Thancred flirted with Momodi? Look it up! They are even shown begin feared and begin powerful both in might and in things like wealth and political influence. They ARE adults in lore, thats not a discussion.
To sum it up: I respect people who think they look like children and rather not interact with them in that manner because of that, as Asmon said. Thats what you feel on a personal level and thats okay. But please dont lump people with freaking pedos because of that, its very saddening. I think one issue is that the game matures most of the Lalafells. Many of them have womanly or manly voices. The one clearly has female servants, and the one is said to have a different woman every night. Many of them are at the head of some mature themes. They have the same revealing clothes. While they are described as child-like in appearance, their actions are anything but. The game and society treats them more like Hobbits or Nelwyn people.
Their appearance and animation as well as the game dictating that they have a "childlike countenance" are all strong arguments.
Sure, they're treated seriously like anyone else. Doesn't mean they don't still look and act like it at times, though.

Pyro did twitter activism on twitch. He took it way too serious and was very personal with insults to Xenos. I didn't like Pyro because of the drama he caused before and this just further cements to me that he is not a good person. He took Xenos out of context by not watching his full video and specifically looked for something to get angry about, then he proceeded to insult Xenos. I respect Xenos a lot more for how he handled the drama from Pyro.
This response doesn't even come across as an apology, he spends pretty much the entire time just trying to justify a lot of what he did. Hope he is able to self-reflect instead of trying to deflect as much blame as he can, otherwise he is going to do this again and end up as content for other people to milk views out of again.

I have had more than 1 occasion where I'll have a disagreement with someone on Twitter where someone has called me a pedo, this is without me ever insulting them to begin with. I have tried to report to Twitter before but they do nothing about it, I have learned that engaging with someone who calls you a pedo for no reason is pointless so I just block them on the spot.

I used to, back in maybe 2019 or so. It was calmer at the time.
I went back in 2021 and people had lost their fucking minds. There were players talking about isolating/punishing developers if they didn't get what they wanted how and when they wanted. If you weren't angry enough while CRITICIZING developers, you got personal attacks. If you worried at all about developers, just as other people in the world, there was something wrong with you because you're apparently only allowed to worry or care about people who are your personal friends. There was no concept that when you pay for the game, you're paying to experience what was created by other people. A lot of forum users believed that meant they were in charge of how the game was made. There was no 'vote with your dollar' stuff going on, no productive expression of criticism, and no 'I'm too stressed and unhappy here so I'm going to find something else that does what I want instead'. No personal responsibility. Just attempts to bully and berate others into submission.
At this point, the place is its own brand of crazy and it really smells the same as twitter on a bad day. If that's the community Pyro regularly sees and engages with it is absolutely going to drag him into drama too.
If the dude knows drama gets to him, he needs to make a point of not going to places that are going to set him off.

My FC leader is a lala and she thought the chair was adorable. And another FC member thought it was funny and wanted me to craft a couple for his own place, he also plays a lala. I agree with Asmon here, I don't think they should be able to wear skimpy stuff, but all those players I know who play them don't really dress them like that. Its mostly just cute outfits.
As a Lalafell player who picked that race so I could run around as a smoll ninja and now running around with a massive Axe and freaking long Katana, I dont freaking care about that chair and people doesn't care if you make something for a specific race. I've made a loft in my FC room which is only accessible if you are a Lala and people thought it was a really nice idea.

Funny jokes aside from "it's not about the chair, it's about what it represents", the argument I see that he's attempting to get out is that the root of the issue is the way people perceive Lalafells and their players.
It doesn't happen to a point to where it's a big issue, but a certain amount of players degrade and harass Lalafell players, calling them p3dos and shunning them from the communities they're a part of and shit. For *whatever* reason, idiots continue to believe that Lalafells are honest-to-god real children in-game, and conflate the very clear description of what they look like in the racial lore in the character creator into their incorrect belief of what they are; they're not children, they're not even child-like either. They're child-like *in appearance only*. It's very obviously stated and confirmed multiple times throughout the game, yet people still harass Lala players due to their incorrect preconceived notion. Western players trying not to harass ppl for cutesy characters challenge (impossible, gone wrong)
However, I am on both sides of this argument. On one hand, yes, this is a part of a bigger issue that is ACTUALLY not about the chair itself, despite the memes and the terrible communication Pyro tried to give on the subject. On the *other* hand, this is not something that's warranting outcry. It's a fucking chair after all lmao, and Lalafells are cutesy so it's fine to make it cutesy for them in turn. People saying Lalas are Chibis are way off the mark. A chibi is a super deformed version of a character, usually in a pretty round way, either to be used in comical scenes, or to not have to create a detailed character model. Many games use this, and no they're not supposed to be kids, just to be cute.
Now, Lalas do look like kids, even though it's not the case for the bearded ones many of them do. No arguing needed.
