One thing to note: (It's not about Roads but it's about Turkey) Turkish Soap operas have counquered the Spanish TV in just 3 years. We have many Turkish soaps and it's common to have a premiere one or two of this country's soaps every month

Y no sólo en España :) las novelas turcas también tienen mucho éxito en América Latina y junto con las indias están desplazando la producción local.

In places, these highways seem to be redundant and only trucks use it to overtake on 3 lanes, and in another place, there are traffic jams again. In general, the number of these gates in the head of the motorway is also in my opinion a lot. Police cardboard cars were once used in Poland and they gave maybe something one-off when someone was driving there for the first time

Traffic jams are concentrated in the urban area of Istanbul. I drove several times on O-7 and traffic was OK, however I don't think there are too many lanes!

    Oooohhh Turkey!!!
The city was the true highlight of Road to the Black Sea in Euro Truck Sim 2!!! Hopefully, they'll manage to make other mass transit systems catch up with the motorways to reduce that congestion.
...and hopefully they get a better President that doesn't tank the TL...

Istanbul has every possible transit system you can imagine! Commuter rail, metro, BRT, cable cars, ferries, you name it. A city of 16 million (and growing) has to get creative to address transportation issues. As for the monetary policy, I'm no expert but dumping the currency worked kept the Spanish economy afloat for decades.

That president is responsible for 80% of the new infrastructure you see. All the tunnels connecting European Istanbul with Asia, all the new Bridges including the new Cannakale bridge, almost all the new Otoyulu highways, the new bulletrains all that happend during the AKP reign. I hope we dont go back to the old secular days whem Turkey was more occupied with banning girls from schools for wearing a headscarf instead of building infrastructure.

Recording motorways in this city wasn't easy and pleasant task, I guess.

Definitely not pleasant due to the traffic. You need lots of patience and expect congestion at any time, even late at night! This also makes drivers impatient and sometimes reckless. A recipe for success :)

By the look of these congested roads, it seems to be a recipe for success for lawyers and ambulances.. lol!!! So glad I was in the camera peeking out around the lens, and not in the drivers seat. I'm afraid my poor heart wouldn't have lasted as long as yours. Hoping you had someone there as your sidekick for these trips. 🤭🤭🤪🤪🤪😵😮😯😲😳

I bet insuring a car in Istanbul is not cheap! Turkey is definitely not the safest country in the world to drive on, but at least the roads are nice and cars and trucks are not too old. I actually took this trip alone as Turkey is very safe in terms of security, and with this chaos around, noone would have had a good time in the passenger seat!

@@RoadsofEuropeverreme If I could travel, I would have had a blast with you on that trip. Only problem would have been my road rage would have popped out about a million times. I would have been yelling out the window at those psychotic drivers. lol (Actually I wouldn't do that while you were driving and recording, just later on.. ). My nephew is somewhere in Turkey, teaching English in Georgia by computer lessons. It's getting pretty hairy over there, and the College he works for moved him out of Georgia for safety reasons.

    • @RoadsofEuropeverreme
      @RoadsofEuropeverreme  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

See that's why I wouldn't bring a passenger with me 😆 I hope your nephew is now somewhere safe.

@@RoadsofEuropeverreme I'm not really scared of a lot of traffic. I just have issues with people cutting other people off to get somewhere faster than the rest. Other than that, I'm usually quiet and enjoying the scenery. I love to travel, but my poor beat up body can't deal with it anymore. My car accident really did a number on me, so now I have to travel through your camera to see the world. 🤭🤗🤭 P.S. Nephew is safe, and he's still doing what he loves, teaching English to young people in school.

Great drive and the chat! What do you think of differences between Yamuna Expressway in India and O-21 in Turkey that was shown in preview? Here's a part 1 of 2 video:
