      DUNCAN wasnt a PF.
He was CENTER in WAKER FOREST.
And POPOVICH drafted him and said that they got a new CENTER.
Due to that DUNCAN even joked telling POP that he was going to trade him.
BUT POP said that they were going to be the new TWIN TOWERS.
SPURS register DUNCAN at PF because at that time there was only 2 spots available at the center position.
And one of those were SHAQ.
SPURS wanted to have 2 all-stars in the TEAM for MARKETING PURPOSES.
So they register him at PF.
If you watch close he was the one guarding others centers and in 2004 POP stop using the 2 CENTERS line up.
And from 2005 untill 2016 you cant name a CENTER that wasnt playing bench minutes.
      MEANING he was the CENTER.

He has the most All Def ever by a wide margin (making 13 straight to start his career) and has the very best defensive analytics in history. You GOT TO BE a little kid or just don’t know nothing about basketball. For one, when Tim Duncan was drafted, the Admiral was 32-33. He was good not the same guy he used to be though. Look up the stats, Tim Duncan was out playing him by far by his SECOND YEAR, after winning rookie of the year and an ALL STAR nods in his FIRST YEAR. Tim Duncan is far better than ANY player he has ever played with. If you put Duncan anywhere he’s a star. But his running mates? Tony Parker, Manu, those guys wouldn’t be future hall of famers without him and Pop. I’ve been watching the Spurs since the 90s. You obviously don’t know what you’re talking about.

For one there's no denying that Ben Wallace was the poster boy of defense during the mid 2000s, plus Duncan was contending with Mutombo, Alonzo Mourning before he got hurt, World Peace/Artest, and The Glove Gary Payton. I’m not a Spurs fan but I just call it how I see it. Has Duncan been on a tram that asked more of him he could’ve given more. There was no real flash to his game and I think that’s why most don’t ever give him the credit of being the best player of that era. For the remaining 872 games of his career he played center 85% of the time and power forward 15% of the time. He played center for the overwhelming majority of his career. i get mad when people talk lebron or kobe being the goat and forget duncan... its like this spurs wouldnt have won with just parker and ginobli. but would have with duncan and just about anyone else.. kobe couldnt win without shaq or gasol... lebron couldnt win without his super teams ..

No doubt Duncan was one of the all time best and pretty unstoppable but the other players deserve much credit for those wins and the coaching was incredible. Much of the way GS wins now is based on the way San Antonio set up their system. People used to say SA was boring to watch but I loved to watch them pass the ball and tire teams out. That’s what they did to Miami. But yes Duncan, in my opinion is probably better than Lebron.

I'm a huge Mavs fan. And without Duncan there is no Parker,Ginobilli nor Popovic. Duncan is not appreciate enough. For example Kobe gets all the love (deservingly) and I believe Duncan had the better career of the two.

Duncan was the best despite being somewhat boring and bland in personality but this isn’t about popularity contest
If you watched Timmy Duncan and how he played he was alittle better that karl and barkley.
Like barkley said he got more touches with the ball. Karl played longer and had a stronger body but Duncan IMO was more fluent, agile, smarter, and can shoot further out!

IMAGINE GARNETT WITH OLAJUWON FROM DAY 1 IN ROCKETS
HOW ABOUT 10.000 PTS LESS THAN MAILMAN ??? DUNCAN IS WAGON. HIS BRONZE IS WORST HUMILIATION IN USA HISTORY. MALONE OR GARNETT WAS NEVER OUTPLAYED BY LOW RAATING FORWARDS OR CENTER VS USA DREAM TEAMS. DUNCAN IS JUST A SYSTEM GUY WHO HAD LACK TO PLAY WITH MULTIPLE HOF'S .
IN ANY OTHER TEAM HE WOULD BE AD IN PELS.

you can make argument that tim was the best leader in the history of the NBA. to win five championships with the spurs is just unreal. most of his career the big market teams were severely outspending the spurs, and san antonio is not the type of city that is going to attract any free agents. tim's calm alpha energy is hard to explain. he almost never made mental errors. his ego was so in check. he was all about team ball. discipline off the charts. some people wonder why old school fans get so upset at players like ja morant. its because we have had players like tim duncan winning championships at 24. He wasn't about being a billionaire; he was about sportsmanship, supporting his community, and winning the right way through hard work and sacrifice. he got every bit of potential out of every teammate he had.

Here's something else that Timmy achieved that I think is unique...I say "I think", because perhaps someone else did it, but I am not aware of it. Tim is the only NBA player (that I know of) that got a technical foul while sitting on the bench and chatting with a teammate; I was watching the game on TV and I think it was Manu who said something to Tim, who laughed, and immediately got a "T" from Joey Crawford. I still remember Tim's face when he realized that he got a "T"! Hilarious!!

Well respected, liked and revered by opponents and their opinion of him being that great is a testament that he is indeed the GOAT PF. No more arguments on who is the greatest pf. Even coaches past and present will cast a vote and they will tell you TD is by far the best. His stoic and often nonchalant demeanor is often mistaken as his not being great. Thats just who he is.
