I have much respect and admiration for this band. As everyone else tries to be faster and more technical, the band displays many strengths such as, heavy riffs, pounding drums, actual singing and harmony, various vocal ranges, lyrics in their language of origin which speak their history (pride of country). Hail Heidevolk!
You probably dont care but if you are stoned like me atm then you can stream pretty much all the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Have been watching with my gf recently =)
Translation (1/2) A victory march, the triumph that came again and again / The gaze ahead because the way back is no longer there / Trevorum brought again a bloody battle / Yet in favour of the Roman Empire the battle was decided Heroic courage in resistance / Carefully daring to dream of something greater / Many camps occupied / But the end had now really come
You guys are completely misunderstanding what he is saying. He's not saying Heidevolk are American, he is saying not enough American metal bands sing with clear vocals.
Translation (2/2) Catra Vetera on the Rhine / Gave the power back after the final blow to the Roman / By the great battle Julius had been defeated / An end came to the uprising of the Batavi A bridge, broken in the middle / Over the Nabalia / A new alliance is forged / In Germania
Do you really need to? I barely understand any Dutch but I've always had an affinity for getting the feel; the gist of a song from it's sound without ever "officially" understanding a word. I even do this with English speaking songs.
No it's not. that's the pirated version being mislabeled... "Einde der zeg" would mean "end of the say" (doesn't make sense in Dutch), while "einde der zege" means "end of victory", since the lyrics are about the Batavian victory over the Romans. Maybe you should just buy the album, you know...
I love this song. The verses are brilliant!

Exactly my thoughts. There are few bands, if any, like this.

Well since Caesar was a great spokes man amongst Romans, maybe it is plain and simple "end their say. End their command!!!!
Wrong Julius
it is einde der zeg, not zege!
