    These are NOT wild one wheels... The Wild one shared wheels with the Tamiya Fox. They were larger and one piece... That's NOT an ESC either... They use an electronic circuit board to regulate voltage in a linear manner. The MSC is basically a switch plate that uses it's resistor to burn off excess voltage. This usually is not linear but has steps of varied resistance that dictates speed, the more voltage burned off by the resistor, the less that's passed to the motor

      Thanks for the info. I did check the wheels and you are right, good thing I got all this for free. 👍👊👌🏁

    The"heat sink" is actually a double resistor. When the speed control (switch) is on 1st speed the power goes through the whole resistor. When it is on 2nd speed the power only goes through 1/2 of the resistor. When it is on 3rd speed the power goes straight from the battery to the motor.

    I MIGHT be inclined to stick an MSC in a Vintage Tamiya.... BUT I'd STILL run it with a hidden ESC!!! Those Tamiya MSCs are horribly inefficient - and that Resistor Block... don't let the White Color fool you. They got *HOT!!!!!* I've gotten several Blisters in my Young years!
    Still, the nostalgia is ALWAYS cool.

    I have one of those in a traxxas chassis, my buddy gave me the chassis and that's all that was in it,now I have to build the truck from scratch,don't know what servo to use for speed control👍👍thank you for sharing😃

      Cool, Just use the cheepest servo you can find it requiers no torque at all, Thanks for stopping by to watch and comment.

    Hey I think you got the operation a little wrong. Pretty sure this is a forward and reverse mechanical speed control. So that arm centers, then the large pads on either side are for F or R. I was just thinking about these speed controls the other day. When I was a youngster I had the identical controller in an MRC MT-10M. I fried about 5 of those speed controls, and being young, I had no idea how to diagnose why.

    I disassembled my TL01 now I have difficulties to mount it mainly this esc. Before this worked perfectly now it speed up alone for seconds and stop, that tiny methalical part responsible to the way of acceleration exceeds his limit touching the wires. Im upset but even so I hope fix it and see my car strong again! Beginners don't do that hahaha

    • @TheTankRC
      @TheTankRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sorry you cannot put it back together properly usually they're pretty easy to set up, without seeing it it's pretty hard for me to try to help you.

    it makes no sense to me at all. when you can build a servo, which is much more sophisticated, why would you do that crap?! Its not doing more than converting a pmw signal into an analog. so just use a cap, a resistor and a mosfet, or if you had no mosfets use a darlington transistor, those have been around for long enougth right?

    • @TheTankRC
      @TheTankRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @TheTankRC
      @TheTankRC  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is usually an on/off switch on this, but if you notice the two cables by the board they've been cut off
