@@Xanion1 I think the rulebook states otherwise. "Players may choose to spend these tokens during their Offensive Roll Phase". The turn order is Offensive Roll Phase -> Targeting Roll Phase (the minion you are currently engaged with) -> Defensive Roll Phase (the minion performs their defensive ability). Players need to spend the damage modifier tokens during their offensive roll phase, which comes before the defensive roll phase. I also think it's more fair this way, you should need to commit to the attack before knowing what their defense will be. If you have a source stating you can play attack modifiers after, please send it.
I actually see now in the Dice Throne Rulebook it says "Attack Modifiers can be played before or after the Defensive Ability is activated". This seems to contradict what's written in the Dice Throne Adventures Rulebook. A bit confusing which one to go by.
My wife and I did this fight with the Monk and Pyromancer. We got rocked the first time, but when we tried again (with some additional salves), we kicked his ass. His constant healing and huge damage kept us on our toes the whole time. I really like this boss fight, though. It reminds me a little of Aeon's End, with the one boss smacking everyone around, and each player using their strengths to fight back.
@@DaletheCasualGamer Oh man, I don't even know. With characters like the Pyromancer, who has zero ways to block incoming damage, it seems like we go through salves like crazy. I'm curious to see how this balances out over time. My wife noticed that the maps get harder, but the characters don't seem to get that much more powerful unless you lose a bunch and replay the same maps over and over (since you get to keep any Treasures you find).
14:01 I believe when the King's Hand is successful, they don't draw an additional card. They still proceed with the last revealed roll objective (similar to Stun). :) 20:42 No need to draw an additional card for the concussion :) Only need to draw a card when the Boss is concussed on the 1st turn, otherwise you just use the last shown roll objective. :) 22:20 The "On" effect only procs once no matter how many dice met the condition, so you only needed to take 1 damage instead of 2. :D

@@tzera_rhuon The stun ability is AWESOME when you get it. I've only used the heal when the dice forced me as most minions and bosses are going to do more damage than the healing will provide. I'm still working thru this campaign, but I like the barbarian because of the simplicity. :) Thanks for watching!

14:02 You drew another objective card with the successful king's hand roll, but you wouldnt draw a new card for a new pbjective in this case, simply use the previous role objevtive.
If the boss cannot afford a card or the card would have no effect (happend in several instances in the video) -- then the boss discards the card for 1 CP (the objective still remains in effect)

Thanks for sharing. You rolled great those 3 turns. I think that turned the tide, and based on how close it was at the end I think those 3 rolls got you the win. There are 8 heroes in the game? If so, it will take a good while to play all of them through a whole campaign.

Unfortunately, I don't have a nearby shop to pre-order with, so I get mine through the mail and with Friday release dates, I typically don't get it until the following Monday or Tuesday. Kind of a bummer being a week behind, but if that's the worst thing I've got happening, things in my life are going pretty good. He does look interesting to play. I haven't really looked to deep into his cards, I just know he has ways to ready, and possibly a bit fragile with only 9 health. And he comes with protection, my least played aspect, so my first play might be a bit awkward. :)
Hey Dale, where do you go to look for Kickstarters you are interested in such as this one? I would have liked something like this, but not sure how to sort the cream from the rest?
@Matt Barnes I was fortunate to know I liked the original competitive game, so was confident in backing the later kickstarter. I try to post a "what I'm interested in" on kickstarters once a month to let others see what I might be getting, and let others share what they like to see if I missed something. But they are all somewhat of a risk. So basically, I just search Kickstarter for tabletop games every couple weeks and see what grabs my attention. :)
@itsMARTIKAI Go ahead and draw the next card and treat it as a new card seeing if the he can pay for the effects and then take on the new objective. Hope that helps, and good luck!
Heyyyy! Can I ask, what if you did not meet the card’s objective after 3 turns, but you got a different dice combo, can you do that dice combo instead?
Yeah, if you didn't get the objective you'll still see if there's any other moves you can do but follow the priority. The skills have numbers which determine what is the priority if you can use multiple skills from a roll.
For multiplayer, does the boss go between each hero? The instructions are so incredibly vague. It says “take turns in clockwise order.” Does that mean in 2 player we each go for 1 boss turn? Too easy one way, too hard the other way.
Players take their turn in clockwise order. If one player attacks a minion, they will activate, then the minion, then the next player (steps 4 thru 7, then end your turn). Happy adventuring!
@@nightwishpower It's easy to overlook. Page 13 3rd bullet point under Loot Cards. That ability did make me mind not adding other cards to the deck that much. :)
On the boss turn, you always go for what their card says, even if they roll something better? For example. If you rolled their ultimate on roll 1, you’d toss that away because their card said to go for something else?
@TheVlad1616 Yes. If the cards objective was "Straights" and you got the ultimate 1st roll, keep the 6 and keep rolling. :) You caught a break. You'll need it.
@@DaletheCasualGamer I assumed so, and yes, they seem difficult based on the few videos I watched. The healing in this game seems mostly useless too, unless it’s your only option. As your fight showed, you heal for way less that you typically take.
So after portal card, you lose all your upgrades that you did in your portal crawl? You don’t go straight to the boss after the portal crawl? I’ve been playing wrong. Ugh
If you check the rulebook or this rule-book-video: th-cam.com/video/WY_6r7Z0MEo/w-d-xo.html you'll see that they changed the game POST-kickstarter to have separate sessions for portal crawl and boss. This really helps with keeping the game at a manageable length. They re-tooled the boss-fights to be more balanced and fun, as well, because it used to be that you would often have to re-start the whole portal crawl again because you simply didn't have enough health to have a chance against the boss. Now, you always start against the boss at a tough, but fair starting health. Much improved!
@@joelface That is one nice thing about kickstarters and many content creators getting a prototype of the game, some good feedback goes back to the company to the final product can be improved upon. :)

12:57 For playing the card “Get Some”, you had to roll 5 dice and not just 1. Then you add +1 damage for every sword rolled and inflict concussion.

The barbarian seems like an ideal hero for true-solo play due to his healing and ability to stun. It's a shame concussion is useless however.

I wish we could get rid of ataerting deck cards. I always find that diluting our deck isnt the best strategy
@nightwishpower The common upgrades that replace cards are my favorite, and you can discard an upgrade card just to draw a card if you like. :)
