They're not only talented singers with wonderful voices, they're some pretty great song writers too. Three of the 4 writers of this treasure are in the video; Chris Chatham on guitar, Tim, and Austin. Adam Wakefield of Texas Hill is the 4th writer. The two groups join beautifully together for Go Tell It on the Mountain, and more recently for Givin' Up On You. I recommend both of them.
I saw them in concert in October also. They do put on a great show. This song is gorgeous. 😀😀 Thank for coming back to Home Free and this great reaction. You have a blessed day.
Thanks Eric! Oh I’ll always come back to them. Just trying to get as a many groups on the channel as I can that people are suggesting. They are fantastic live. So much fun!
I love this original and feel like it is a Masterpiece for HomeFree. Beautiful harmonies. And Chris is a wonderful addition to their group. Anything with strings, he's amazing. 🥰

They’re so good. Tim, Austin, Chris (Tim’s friend and guitarist) and Adam Wakefield (from Texas Hill) wrote this one. They were writing songs with Chris playing in the background and said yep, guitar has to be in this one. Their new album So Long Dixie has 12 original songs on it. Understand, Save the World, are some of my favorites. Also they just came out with a new song with Texas Hill called Giving Up on You. Tim and Adam Wakefield wrote that one. It’s got guitar and piano in it. HF is amazing. They should be on the radio! Good reaction Bob!🥰
Hey great to hear from you Baby Fry! This was was in another level. Those harmonies and the guitar part blending with their voices just sealed the deal for me. Take care!
Another great original song! This is such a beautiful heartfelt melancholy song. Tim's lead was awesome along with all the guy's harmonies & Adam's harmonica sounds were great as usual. I don't mind having an instrument played once in awhile in a song. It was tastefully done in the background without taking over. It added a nice element. Also like the scenery in Colorado.
Hey Dagmar! I totally agree with you thr harmonies were incredible and the guitar fit so nice with the singing. Typos harmonica added some emotion to the song too.
Thanks Doris! Wow you are so lucky to see that everyday. My family and I were going to visit the summer covid hit. We never got to go. We had planned on some mountain biking there.

I agree with all the positive comments about Home Free. I listen to hardly anything else other than these guys, individually and collectively, even while working. Tight crisp harmonies. The one thing I believe is underrated, maybe because it is normally so subtle, is the lower part, to which I gravitate. Yes, Tim has an awesome 5-octave range, but it took me a few listens to this song to realize Tim's singing the melody so who is doing the great bass line that threads the harmonies together? Chance! Each of these guys are all talents in their own right! Looking forward to more of their beautiful music for many years to come.
Thanks Kathy! I love to listen to Tim also. I used to think all of thr bass stuff was him until people pointed out that chance was singing those parts. Yep they are all so talented.
Chris Chatham’s guitar part of this is so beautiful. I’m glad they kept it in for both the recording and video. Chris is/was an a cappella singer too, so he has a special connection with the music. There are so many great songs on this album and only two of them are covers! I will reply to this comment with links to their original with Texas Hill and the one with the Bass Gang.
Tim and Austin wrote this with a prompt from Adam Wakefield (Texas Hill's piano player) and Chris on guitar. They felt the guitar was an integral part of the song, so their usual a capella had to bend a bit. Beautiful, isn't it? As for the surprise chord, HF often has unexpected chords/harmonies in their songs. Just another reason to think they are a fantastic band.
If you go back and listen to Tim and Austin singing “My Maria” you’ll see the man playing the guitar, Chris. He is very talented. He Lao played mandolin in Tim & Austin’s version of “What’s It to You.”
A original song so wonderful. A masterpiece. The harmony is as always perfect at Home Free. A good choice to do it with a guitar this time because that's just part of it. Then Adam's no-monica which can be heard at exactly the right moments. Not too overwhelming. Yes, as I often say: Home Free is not only hearing the music, but also feeling it.
They are so amazing with any song original or cover, the harmonies, handing out the emotions to us! Chris Chatham is an amazing guitarist, he does some videos with both Austin and Tim individually and both of them together, all amazing! TGlad yo love that too, great reactions!👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥
@Bob Cieslinski I saw them two weeks ago in Biloxi. Amazing harmonies, clear vocalizations while singing. But even more important is their appreciation of the audience. Tim is the spokesman most of the time and he had something going on with the audience the whole concert. There is not much difference live vs. videos. Thats not what I've found in most groups. They really work on their craft.
Chris Chatham, the guitarist on this, has been a friend of Tim's for more than 20 years - he was another member of the first professional acapella group Tim was part of, Blue Jupiter, and they've written songs and performed together many times over the years. He's a great guitar player, but also he knows a lot about harmony singing, and how to work with it.
Thanks for the reaction, Adams nomonica adds such a hauntingly melancholy flavor to this song and Chris' guitar gave it so much more depth, very beautiful song and beautifully done. You should check out "What's left of my Heart" from their new album, it's another original that Tim wrote, the video it pretty cool.
