She look better in the deeper colors. The lighter and brighter colors in the beginning makes her skin more yellow and dirty looking but the deeper colors lighten up he skin tone
GREAT swatches. The colours look quite different on you than in 100% Pure official swatches. Each colour actually looks unique on you too which is very useful. I was super upset when I tried Elderberry because it doesn't look anything like the official swatch. I was expecting a hot pink, not dark coral like it is on both my lips & yours. Sadly I look awful in coral. I will be selling my unopened Pomegranate - it would probably look okay on me but not special enough. Unfortunately I won't use the Lip Glazes because they contain hydrogenated avocado oil, aka trans fat, which is very toxic. I asked 100% Pure to specify the type of hydrogenation & they wouldn't. So most likely it is partially hydrogenated, the most toxic form. Based on synthetic avocado butter (it is not a natural product) available for sale from suppliers, it is indeed partially hydrogenated (as opposed to full hydrogenated). The texture of the Lip Glazes also supports this. Update: I have personally lab tested their products containing ‘avocado butter’, including the lip glazes, & they do contain partially hydrogenated avocado oil, as expected.
Yeah it is very pricey, which is understandable, but for such an expensive lipstick, I was hoping the colors on the website was more true to color. I've also noticed some shades look different on other people's lips. I guess it mixes with our natural lip tone. So would look different depending on your natural lip shade.
Synthetic avocado butter? How to tell it's synthetic avocado butter? Where is it indicated? Hydrogenated oil is not the same as synthetic. Most restaurants uses hydrogenated oils to cook as it's cheaper and longer shelf life.
@@Jenniferbluefire There is no such thing as ‘natural’ hydrogenated avocado oil; it does not occur naturally but can only be lab-synthesised (I am a chemist who researches toxicity). Hydrogenated oils are refined & toxic, whether you eat them or put them on your face.

The colors look good on you! Since the products are plant-based, does that mean the makeup will expire very quickly? =/ One of the reasons why I don't always buy plant-based makeup is because I can't use my makeup very quickly and I find that they go bad too soon.
Yes... natural and organic make up do have a shorter shelf life since they are not using any / use less preservative. For this series of lipstick particularly is 6 months. 😅 I might hold onto it for a bit longer than 6 months, but once it smell weird or formula / texture changes... I am sure it is time to throw it away.
