Here's a comment explaining the "olive" joke:
Eddy was playing the wedding piece he played with Brett and their cellist friend Oliver (see where I'm going?) during a gig in their teens. Oliver forgot his music and didn't know how to harmonize, so he just randomly butchered the part while Brett and Eddy were trying not to die of laughter. Eddy was imitating Oliver during that wedding, and Brett was reminded of him. Oliver --> Olive.
This story was told in their video reacting to their first video.

I've finally watched enough TwoSet videos where I understand the "olive" one. If I'm not mistaken, it's a reference to their friend Oliver who made up the cello part when he forgot his music at a gig when they were kids.
Musical colour suggestions:
Orange - Vivaldi, Autumn
Yellow - Yin Chengzong/Chu Wanghua, Yellow River concerto (or possibly the Canary Fairy’s theme from Tchaikovsky, Sleeping Beauty)

My synesthesia mostly kicks in with words/language. Every phonetic sound has a different color to me, and it can vary greatly depending on the sound of a word as a whole. Got me through all four years of learning Japanese in high school. For example, the character “ki” is pale violet and white, “mo” is a dark magenta and near black, “no” is similar but more of a dark maroon and near black. But “kimono” altogether sounds like a kaleidoscope of lavender, baby blue, and orange, with splashes of dark indigo for the “o” sounds. It gave me something extra to reference and remember when studying for tests, similar to how some people come up with tunes or songs to memorize a list of facts or formulas.
The same applies to English (or any language really). Each letter generally has its own specific color/set of colors, just depends on the phonetics. Like the letter “a” in “ape” is a bright red or bright green (it can go either way), in “dad” it’s a muted green, and in “tall” it’s a much softer and pastel sort of green. Consonants colors are fairly consistent; the “L” sound is always some shade of pink, the hard “K” sound is always a form of purple, and “H” is usually a desaturated brown while “D” is always a middle of the road brown, etc. Generally speaking, the higher-pitched/harsher sounds are more bright/saturated.
Synesthesia has played a big role in my creative writing as well-even whole sentences, paragraphs, or chapters have their own overall “color script” in my head. The colors/sounds of the words I choose have to fit within a scene’s overall script, or it feels off to me. Sometimes connotation has an effect on what color(s) a word reminds me of, but 99% of the time the colors are based on the sound alone. For instance, when people think of “sad,” it’s typically associated with blue. But for me, the word “sad” sounds like grey, green and brown. Individual words will always have specific “color sets” as well, despite the connotation/context. For example, even though the following are all adjectives that describe something sad, “melancholy” has a color set similar to the neon lights of Tokyo, but “despair” is like a mustard yellow mixed with brown and dark green, and “hopeless” flashes between blue, grey and yellow. So if the colors of “melancholy” fits the overall script/objective I have in mind for a scene better, I’ll likely choose it over the others, even if one of the other two would be a better choice based on definition and context alone. Even if no one else hears it the way I do, it still feels like I’d be making an ugly mess of things if I don’t stick to the colors that I feel fit the scene’s objective and atmosphere well. The visual artist in me won’t allow it 😂
Anyways. If you made it this far, I’ll tell you the colors I hear in Brett’s and Eddy’s names! B-r-e sounds like a toss up of dandelion, navy blue and deep red, while the “t”sound at the end sounds blue-black. The E in Eddy is pale yellow, while d-d-y sounds brown followed by a lighter more vibrant orange-ish brown. Bonus round: “violin” sounds lavishly indigo-purple with small hints of pink, orange, and white.
