I was in Scotland myself, about 2weeks after your trip! Travelled most of same roads as yourselves, I just went further North. Scotland is utterly breathtaking! Great video tour, thanks for sharing.
Mooi Filmpje! Wij zijn net dit jaar in september ook door scotland gereden- ik met een 2000er Transalp, die 50km rond applecross zijn de 50 leukste Kilometer van mijn Motorleven. En die anderen 2950km wassen ook heel leuk!
Accidentally came across the transalp as I was checking some bikes on Autotrader. I have never heard or seen one. May be it's a good time to get one as the used models are quite cheap.
Brilliant video, came across it as I'm thinking of getting a 700 or 650 Transalp to replace my heavy R1150GS. As you might guess from my Avatar I live in Scotland 😁
Thanks, it was a pleasure making it. Taking the ferry from IJmuiden to Newcastle made it easy to visit Scotland. I owned a Transalp 650 before but prefer the 700 because of the better engine (injection and more HP), the ABS and the looks ;-).
@@gjdezzo1628 I've used the same ferry going the opposite direction 😁 I've heard the 650 has more low end power, how do you find it compared to the 700 ?
I bought the 700 in 2012 so hard to remember. I think 650 low-end power hardly differs with the 700. The 700 has a better high-end power compared to the 650 :-)
@@gjdezzo1628 I had an original 1987 600 many years ago and loved it. The more I read up on the 700 the more I think it will be the next bike to join my stable 😁
great Video guys ! I am a Transalp 700 owner from Austria ! For me one of the best touring bikes ever ! I am a lot in Itali , France and switzerland with my Transalp ! What was the Problem with the Chain where you was in the Service station
Hi, thanks for the compliment. The chain had worn out pretty quickly during the trip. It could not be adjusted anymore so had to be replaced. Luckily we found this motorcycle shop in Glasgow that had the chain in stock.
Hi Arne, yes I have the trip in GPX-format, one file for each day so six in total. You can share your email address here and I will send them to you. Regards, GJ
I’ve got a 700 too. They’re great wee bikes can’t understand why Honda didn’t continue the development with a few more ponies and a 6th gear which would have made it perfect in my opinion
Thanks. About your question: I'm not sure what it was on this trip to Scotland but the overall average of my bike is 1:21, so 21 km on 1 liter (approx. 49 mile per US gallon, 59 m per UK gallon)
Sorry for the late response. I am not a real vlogger so I just made a video report of a very nice motorcycle trip. Next time I will pay more attention to it, in September 2020 to the Dolomites. Already looking forward to...

What was your average Fuel Consumption (mpg?)

Tell me, only I'm seeing them in the opposite direction, or is it my impression? Or is this country right on this left side for who's going? Kkkkk
The UK and so Scotland have left-hand traffic. I guess that's what you mean?
supposed to be a revue. You didn't tell us anything about it

I don't think it was ever supposed to be a review - just as per title, 2018 trip to Scotland on a Transalp, which I and many others enjoyed.
@@gjdezzo1628 No it's fine The video was OK. Hope to see more from you
