This is a fantastic video. I’ve been homeschooling for nine years and I’m in a bit of a slump. My focus has been on my eldest sons (17 and 14) and I’ve lost inspiration for schooling my younger students (12, 9, 6, 4 and 2.) This video has given me so many great ideas (and reminded me of a lot of things I did when we first started out that I’d forgotten about) and I feel inspired to revamp our space and get some great activities happening for my younger students. Thank you!

I could cry. I love all of this. What i don't love is that my son's adhd is SO severe that he opens, dumps , and breaks everything. He just turned 5.

Put him in sports and get him a mini trampoline. My daughter has a lot of energy and I use the mini trampoline for her to jump on instead of my living room furniture and she does dance & soccer. I also keep all of her favorite toys in the highest shelf possible. She only gets them after she does her homework and only gets one at a time.

We have a playroom with a lot of extra room, so we store everything for school there, and then we do bookwork, etc. in the back dining room. It's not super convenient to go back and forth for supplies but it works for now!

We live in an old 1970’s single wide trailer during this season of life, and finding space for a learning area was a challenge. The floor plan is odd and we couldn’t figure out where to do our learning. So thankful I found your blog and after I saw your family learning at the kitchen table we also are adapting to this style & moved our table into our living room. We ultimately decided during this time in our lives functional spaces are more important than than traditional spaces. Thank you for all you do!!!

Thank you for making this video and sharing how you maximize your space. It's the first time I find a space that resembles so much to ours! Our dinning room is also our kitchen table and our school table 🤪so thanks for giving me ideas on how to use the space in our Laundry room and our walls!! I love how you've created a warm, artistic and inviting space for everyone, guests included.

I absolutely am so Blessed to have found your channel. Thank you for taking the time. I have ALOT of videos to watch 😅 . I just started a homeschool daycare situation and am in the beginning stages of grabbing supplies. I am blessed to have the space for a play area, but I do find we are almost ALWAYS drawn back to the dining room table as well! It's a cozy magnet isn't it?

I also felt like we were official homeschoolers when we added a globe! Ha! My biggest challenges has been keeping things out of my toddler’s reach. Things get scattered in random places because she crawls up on the table and tries to chew on the glue stick or play with the scissors… etc. I have also struggled with wanting our eating area to not look like a school area, but we do school there (and have been for several years) so it’s getting harder. Your space is so inspiring! Thanks for sharing the details!

I love the look into small space homeschooling. We also homeschool at our dining table, and it's not my favorite. But it serves us right now and maybe one day we can have our own homeschool room! I appreciate the "real life" look so much 💛

We are starting our home schooling journey this fall. I have a fifth grader and an eighth grader. They both are not looking forward to the experience. But I think it’s the whole covid, school from home they don’t want. Everyone was crying by 9am! It was terrible.

I know this is an older video & my comment has little to do with the topic but I've looked through most of the other comments & could not find anyone else asking my question. I would really love to know where you got your headband. I wear them quite frequently & have to admit that it was probably the main reason I clicked on this video. LOL I will say, your homeschool area is beautiful. We are starting a very light version of preschool this year with our 3.5 yo but mainly to just get me in the habit of doing something with him & structure our day a little more. :)

I know a benefit to having a home school room is you can use it to stay organized and help with concentration? I know home school mom jady a said moving her children to a desk instead of the dining room table helped them concentrate. Another mom gave a tip that if you do the dining room table make sure the children uses the same spot at the table everyday to help with concentration. Not sure if the other mom was also jady a lol.
I sure wish I could have a homeschool room. Right now I use my children’s bed room as a home school room because or living room is super small and our home is super small. So small we can’t put a dining room table, nor a couch nor a queen size bed in it. Wooo hooo let’s go California!
My husband and I roll out Matt’s every night in the living room and our daughter sleeps in the bed room on her toddler mattress. I praise God we have that room to dedicate to her and or soon to be born son ( due October). He’s going to sleep in a bassinet and then move to a toddler mattress. This is way better then living in a room for rent which we use to live in so no way I’m ungrateful for what little we have. Praise the most high.
Home schooling can be done. working from home or being a stay at home mom in my case helps so so much. In a home like this less is more and always buy under $100 so you don’t cry when something needs to be tossed out. And don’t fear tossing stuff out.
