Fascinating video guys- CF Booths yard, like others, isn't always easy to penetrate! That first train you entered was once a normal passenger coach with 4 compartments, later stripped out for engineers use. My partner and I have bought something similar to live in, but that green one appears in reasonable order, too good to scrap. I guess it would cost too much to restore..
Wow can't believe you walked straight into booth's yard. Security is usually very tight in there, especially when they are scrapping famous locomotives . Train spotters are always trying to get in to see there favourite locos one last time..😢 excellent video thanks 👍🙏🤟💯🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃
The train you was on was a TfL Rail train, which is now the Elizabeth line. These trains ran from Liverpool Street to Shenfield in Essex. I used to get these from Romford (where I live) to Liverpool Street
That old coach you went in started life as a 'BSK' , British Rail carriage code for- 'Brake second corridor', half of it used to be fitted with passenger compartments, a guards compartment and the rest for mail. It was built by a firm called Charles Roberts way back in 1955. It was converted to a 'translator' vehicle as long ago as 1982, its used for the movement of electric multiple units (you can see parked next it to it, the second train you went in) so as a locomotive can communicate with units, ie- brake system and coupling etc. Info from a book. Yeah, I was bored.😅
Big deal I've been in thousands of those carriages during my 25 years on the railway !! They were used for carrying Parcels and mail bags plus prams and cycles when part of a passenger train !
That a Class 315 electric train built by BR brel works in the early 80s they operated out of London Liverpool st to chingford, hertford, bishop stortford and sometimes stansted airport, travelled on them during the 80s and early nineties when i was just a kid, horrible untidy livery colours they ended their lives in certainly didnt do these units justice and just looked a load of white carriages going along in the end.
