My biggest pet hate is definitely the rule regarding offside where even though everybody can see it’s a blatant offside but they have to let that phase of play continue before they can blow the whistle. Just totally pointless and means there’s more opportunity for players to run around and get injured completely needlessly 🤦♂️

Villa has now got a 90min attack regardless of who plays , something only Liverpool has in my opinion , unreal move and perfect timing
My biggest peeve is on corners, not putting the ball on the white line. Somehow, the imaginary shadow of the ball is fine 🤯 and sometimes the ball is clearly nowhere near the line 😡

Rashford is not a player that tracks back, but we need him on the half way line on the left ready for that early transition where he will be more effective.

My pet hate and I’ve had it for years now and it usually 90% of the time it will involve the defenders..it’s when the defenders are passing it across the back line when playing out from the back and the pass “which is usually only ten yards or so” goes behind the player they’re passing the ball to instead of in front of the player so the player can just run onto it instead of turning around and then having to get the ball under control before he can pass it..gets me every single time that does

Malen to start for me. Rashford hasn't played football i months so would be surprised if he started. Hopefully a back four of Garcia, Konsa, Disasi and Maatsen. Then I think he will go for a mIdfield with Kamara and Tielemans, with Ramsey, Rogers and Bailey, and Malen up front. Usually he integrates new player slowly, so will be interesting to see how he lines us up. Anyways it is great to have good option of the bench without the quality dropping massively. We owe Spurs a real beating, but as long as we progress I will be happy!

My pet hate is on TV when they change the camera angle to a close up. It almost never adds any value and it often feels like you're missing something, like a quick restart from the goalie. It's always better to see the wide angle so you can see as much as possible.

Playing cut holes in the socks to let the blood flow in your foot because when you're wearing shin pads and socks it will tighten you leg a bit
I'm excited, but I also have some serious reservations over these players. Rashford has been hit and miss over the past few seasons and has had off the field issues plus attitude problems. Asensio was let go by both Madrid and PSG for a reason. He's 29, but I think his best days are definitely behind him. I'm glad both are loans and not permanent signings.
Malen is very inconsistent and is not a winger. We desperately need a natural winger. We've got loads of forwards, but only one of them is a natural winger, Bailey and he's playing absolutely terribly. Malen would've been an ok loan signing. Not happy with a permanent deal for him. He's too inconsistent.
Rashford and Asensio didn't come to sit on the bench. I don't want them to take Ramsey or McGinn's place. Ramsey needs a good run in the team to rediscover his best form.
I'm beginning to give up on Bailey. He was amazing last season, but this season is a gigantic drop off. We desperately need to sign an actual winger, not a striker or a number 10 that plays on the wing. A pacy tricky winger that goes at the full back.

Morning Luke, up the Villa. ‘The dark arts’, the penalty and the injury questions are purely because of the dark arts, trying to get any advantage, if possible. Players definitely go down for a rest or to slow or brake up play, so they should be made to leave the field of play. As a referee myself, if I had any idea that a player was ‘at it’? He definitely stayed on the sideline for longer, this does work and players are less likely to go down if they had to spend more time on the line. I am loving the rumours coming out of Villa re Rashford and extra training, good on him. Up the Villa.

That left mid role is important defensively. But it's also tended to be a number 10 role in possession. I agree with Dale. That just doesn't feel very Rashford to me. I'm still finding it hard to see how he fits in.
The thing with that is that We have central players trying to get out wide. That is particularly the case when defending. Ramsey, Beundia and Tielemans have all struggled with it.
Emery has long sought a player (mostly Felix 😂) that will start wide and come inside especially when the LB overlap is available.
Rashford will be an answer to that role.
Still think emery is working on a 4-2-2-2 formation and players bought are looking that way. With wing backs providing width. Most of our players suit the formation tbf Ollie and Rashford upfront? Ollie became a better striker under Emery so hopefully the same! Exciting times ahead UTV
I believe there is a rule about standing in front of a free kick. The opposition players should be 10 yards away.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Unai is planning some witchcraft and planning to make rashford a striker - a). As Watkins can’t play 90min twice a week (his game time with no rest recently is the reason for his groin). b). While nice to have another option so JJ can get rest as he’s so injury prone, I don’t think this would be a priority and enough alone to get rashford. c). If he planned to use him as a ten then why get Marco when you already have Roger’s and malen too - Even though not as obvious, the facts might make this more likely than we think

My pet hate it corner takers putting the ball outside the quadrant so only the edge is hanging over the line. That and players being allowed to steal 20 yards walking up the pitch before they take a throw in
On injured players, if captains are saying "are you sure you're injured because you will need to go off" ... that's it working ad intended isn't it?

My pet peeve is time keeping. When the play stops the clock should stop. Why, when a player is on the ground injured, does the clock keep going? It’s so dumb. In every sport when play stops the clock stops. Except in football. If we used a stopwatch system it would obliterate time wasting.

Are we going to see McGinn's role in the team diminish? Is it the beginning of the end. He's been written off by certain sections of the fanbase for years despite being one of our most consistent performers, but there has been a drop off this season.
I'm think Ramsey will possibly start v Spurs, but he really needs to up his game as Rashford has his place when Watkins is back.
I imagine it's rotation and game dependant on alot of players
It gonna lie, Team like Spurs always worry me, the way they play really doesn’t suit us. They are the epitome of how to beat us, fast counter attack.
Other clubs defend better as a team against Spurs and we don't defend well against Spurs and this is why Spurs look so poor because of other clubs stopping Spurs most of the time
Really important to beat Spurs but we're big softies so I wouldn't rule out us handing them and Ange a lifeline as we often like to be charitable to teams limping along 🙄
I think Watkins is a big miss I just hope we have a good game because it's live on TV doesn't always go that way for Villa don't want the media 2 s*** us off if we don't play well we don't need X players on their opinion
