Perhaps try the new lipsticks over the lip primer by NYX, it's pretty good stuff :) Especially if you're loving the colors but not crazy about the formula.

I was really looking forward to her palette this year for the holidays. But this one i think i will pass on. Last year i loved and still love very much, this one seems to have a lot of off white and white or cream shades in it. Some colors are gorgeous in the palette i do like the orange colors, i am a purple gal too. You did a great job with the look you did, and love the lipstick color your wearing from her lipstick line. I might think on them, but a bit iffy cause of glitter in some of them. Thanks for sharing Tara and as always you look simply gorgeous. xoxoxo
I've found that using the Too Faced Shadow Insurance glitter glue, helps to keep the glittery eyeshadows from having too much fallout. It's perfect for glitter obviously but it helps with those shimmer shadows as well.

Tara, out of all the brands from sephora and department stores (ie nordstrom), which brands do you think make the most consistent palettes/quads/quints. And which brands are least consistant?
I see these as six quads (3 on each side)... Is this how we're supposed to use them? And the names... "depeche", "violator"... Made me think of "Depeche Mode" and their "Violator" album... I'm sure most people on this channel have never even hear of "Depeche Mode"...lol... Getting old... :)))) Thank you... I love all your reviews... :))

I always love your reviews and know I can count on an honest opinion. I was really torn on whether or not to purchase this one and now I think I might. There are just so many new holiday sets out right now! Anyhow, just wanted to tell you that I picked up lovecraft and wolvesmouth when the studded lipsticks launch and I really like them both. I have heard and seen really negative reviews on them, but those two are really comfortable and not patchy at all. I don't know if I just got lucky or what, but I really like them. Thanks again for a great review.

I'm already getting these products because i too, love kat von d packaging and artwork. I love your videos and they are definitely my go too when I'm interested in a product and "iffy" about getting it :D so thank you even though the shades in the palette resemble a lot of the shades fro last years i totally want it :D
This is the first semi-good review I have heard about this palette lol. All others are pissed by it. The powder, the fall out, the chunky glitter of Gothika. I love the packaging and am so on the fence! I need to swatch in store I think.
I feel your hooded eye pain! Our hoodieness is about the same. We have to get a bit creative for eyeshadow to show. Because my eyes are so hooded, my eye shadow continues to blend all day long LOL! Thanks for the review I love KVD too.
I've only swatched her eyeshadows when I've been at Sephora, & I sort of felt the same, that they felt very powdery, so it's interesting that you're saying the same thing. I'll admit I'm probably biased myself when it comes to Kat Von D makeup, because I don't care for her, though obviously she didn't do anything to me, lol, so it wouldn't stop me from buying her makeup, if I saw a product I wanted. But now that I think of it, I think the palette I was looking at was either all or majority matte (or that matte that has sparkles, but basically just goes on matte when you apply it to your eye), so I'll have to look at the shades that are more satiny or shimmery & see if I like their texture better.
I'm planning on expanding my eye brushes collection and started with Wayne Goss and wanted more variety.. I appreciate how you always mention what brushes you use. Might get Hakuhodo next time. Great look like always. :)

I had purchased 'Lullaby' from her Studded Kiss lipstick line initially when they were released & the formula was soo horrible, patchy & it *literally* felt like sandpaper (it was one with shimmer) on the lips...& I don't just mean dry & drying & patchy, but feeling like actual sandpaper granules on the lips from the shimmer. I canNOT stand the new formula. I much much much prefer her old lipstick formula :'( but love both styles of packaging. I had the same issue with inner mouth build-up with the lipsticks & everyone thought I was nuts....
Tara this look is one of the best you've done I think! It was beautiful! Adding that colour pop shadow over the top made a huge difference. I'm completely obsessed with those colour pop shadows, I'm kind of surprised to hear that they dried funny for you. Anyhow, I was curious how you were liking that gorgio armani maestro for your brows? Do you recommend it? I wasn't really impressed with the dip brow by anastasia. It gave my sharpie looking brows and I like a more natural look. Would the maestro be better for that? Awesome video! Thanks!
