this was such a great tutorial! very simple and easy to follow! when i made the hat the first time, the body of the hat was a little long, but i think it was because i only have a size 5.5mm hook, so when i tried a second time i made 6 rows instead of 8, and it fit me perfectly. will definitely come back to this tutorial again!

This was so fun to make! At first, I was a little worried it wouldn’t fit me (I have a really big head), so I decided to add an extra row to the top. It looks so nice! This is my new favorite hat. Let’s just say you earned a new subscriber!
@@deedee-ej6vqyes! I still followed her instructions, ours will just be a little more.. So for the first row of the brim, i did one double crochet in the first two then two double crochets in the next. In the last stitch (7th one) i just do one double crochet then switch colors and continue like that.. Follow her instructions for all rows. I hope you understand ❤️
Hi! I love this tutorial and I followed it exactly and as the video shows. It came out really small though. I tried to increase the rows but the brim was an odd number so it didn’t work. Any tips on how to make it bigger?

How do you do the increases for the brim when you add an extra row at the top? Because now we would have 7 double crochets per color instead of 6.

Hi! Yes, I don’t count the ch 2 as a stitch so i make my first st in the same place

Wait when I add another row to the top should I follow the checkered pattern or should i make a different checkered patern?
You can create another checkered pattern. We want to have only 2 rows per checkered pattern.
