This is really cool! But why did they put in the switch internally? Is it just the same pedal, but the switch set to one or the other, depending on which one they are putting into a box?

Cuts down production costs. Make one pcb board and just add a switch. The zw44 uses the same circuit minus a resistor I believe.

When you open the pedal and the board is facing you the switch in Left position is normal and then in Right it’s the ZW mode which is noticeable more aggressive and saturated. I opened mine to find it in ZW mode so there’s no point in using the milder setting!

I literally JUST got off the phone with MXR tech... they said it's in GT-OD mode when switch is to the right. Zakk Wylde mode when switched to the left.

I love the zw44 for leads , but I don"t like the extra mids for rhythm. Maybe this will make it great for rhythm on a weak amp, like my blackstar

I would try something else. Something full range maybe like the EHX Crayon or any Klon clones. The MXR is still mid heavy.

Yo im an idiot pls help. How tf do you open it up? Ive unscrewed the back and that shit is just stuck in there. Do i rly gotta undo every last nut and bolt to pull this shit out?

First take out the back, then pull the knobs out, unscrew them and them unscrew the switch. Should come out.
