Hello, Central Floridian here. Let me tell how.
    1. We don't go to the theme parks. It's nothing but concrete and cement everywhere.
    2. We go from our air conditioned house, to our air conditioned car, to our place of work or stores that are all air conditioned.

As Floridians we're just used to it. We know its muserably hot and adapt out lives to get through it.
On the other hand we don't understand how people can live in Alaska. They have places where the sun doesn't rise for months and temps so cold if you pour water out of a cup it freezes before it hits the ground. And they say we're crazy!

I moved here to Florida over 40 years ago from Chicago. I live near Orlando. All my children went 1:52 to schools here. All of my grandsons were born here. You will never hear me complaining about the heat. I’ll always take the heat over the cold, wet, and snow I experience there. Plus you get used to the heat and you know how to prepare yourself. And I just love it here.

I've been castigated for giving away the whole "gill" secret in another post so all I'll say here is ...
Have a cooler with ice in your trunk when out and about.
Keep a couple bandanas in the ice water and use as needed to apply to the back of neck and face.
Having a cold rag on your neck is one of the fastest ways to cool off.
    Always wear light colors.
Soak a long-sleeved shirt in water.
    Soak your hat in water.
What do you mean, "I don't wear hats"
Oh, son... you are in for an uncomfortable summer.

Indoors with the AC cranked up, that's how. Some of us also have pools.

Born and raised in Florida and worked outside damn near all my life I can tell you that I look like an aging pirate now that I'm nearing 50 years. I'd have to say that much of the times my bosses were sympathetic and gave us heat bonuses as well as siestas.
Though never really been political in my life about things it would be great to put Desantis' desk on the front lawn this summer just so he knows the suck of it.

Born and raised in FL, with no AC til recently...stay in the shade, buy every fan you can afford and sit directly in front of them, wet your hair frequently so your brain doesn't fry, go swimming (even in a cow trough if there's nothing else), and save your $$ to buy an AC, asap. Pray for nightfall...still hot, but nothing like the sun cooked daylight hours. Real talk.

P.S. It’s very possible to get a bad sunburn at a Fall Festival in October, depending on the day/year.

Tell them to go to the keys it's a lot cooler. See if they like it there

Here is a suggestion. Get your clothes wet and go in a very cold area. Your clothes will get really chilly after a while. Then go out in the heat. Your clothes will stay cool for a while providing a sort of heat shield while keeping you from getting too overheated. When it gets too hot for you then rinse and repeat. That is how I have dealt with some of the hottest days when I felt like a lobster cooking in an empty pan. Thank goodness for the water barrier trick or else I would have had heat stroke for sure.

Humidity in summer, well It's kinda like when you walk outside and your glasses fog up instantly. Except you're not wearing glasses.

For one thing I do actual physical activity early in the morning. Usually as soon as the sun comes up. By noon I am in the house and the blinds are drawn and the AC on.

Been here since I was 10 in 1980. You get used to it but thank God for AC in cars and homes. In the 80s they had no AC on the buses and my school didn't have the AC either it sucked

Simple answer is the ac. However as a kid growing up i feel like we just got used to it as an everyday ain't gunna slow us down thing. I was in Sarasota btw.

SC girl here and right now Im doing all my outdoor stuff now so its done by the worst of summer. Im also cursed because I love all things fall and Halloween but we do not get fall temps until Halloween. So im decorating my house in late August with swamp ass going on. And I do this so I don't have to deal with snow and 6 months of cold.
