I actually rely on a feeling of ache at the heart as a sign that my prayers of contrition are … right? true? I can’t put my finger on it. But still it has to me been an indicator that my moving towards Christ isn’t just an intellectual knowing that something is wrong but that it affects also my passions and my soul.
