From watching the video, this is what I gathered: In the big vat, she put : cinnamon sticks, star anise, dried kapok buds( this is hard to find), bay leaves, vazhana ila (idk what this leaf is called in English), fennel seeds and cloves. Dry roast these, then add water. Then add cilanto and salt to the water. Bring the water to a boil. Put gashes in the meat and add to the spiced water. Cover and cook until tender. Drain water, then add turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder, coconut powder, ginger-garlic paste, yogurt and salt and mix. Later on add a little coconut oil to the marinade and mix again. Fry the chicken in a cast iron pan and garnish with cilantro. That's it :)
