This video is part of our new Jungfraujoch Series. Here, the panoramic train route from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen to Kleine Scheidegg is shown. This scenic route shows the beautiful villages of Wengen and Lauterbrunnen, with magnificent views of Glaciers and Waterfalls in the valley and then goes up to show three important mountain Peaks - Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau as well as its glaciers, and more....
LAUTERBRUNNEN: Lauterbrunnen is perhaps the most beautiful village in Switzerland. The very name ‘Lauter Brunnen’ (‘many fountains’) suggests the magnificence of this landscape. Located at the entrance of a spectacular valley, it is also known as the waterfalls village as it has 72 waterfalls that look absolutely gorgeous. The most famous being the Staubbach Falls, plunging almost 450 metres from an overhanging rock face, it is one of the highest free-falling waterfalls in Europe.
Lauterbrunnen is ideal for hiking and as a starting point for numerous day trips. If you are treating yourself to an overnight stay, you will awake to the sound of one of the 72 waterfalls. It's a starting point for day trips to the Alps. It's a meeting point for mountaineers and hikers. Some Highlights of Lauterbrunnen region: Staubach Falls, Trümmelbach Falls, BOBBIN Room, Beautiful village, UNESCO Theme Trails etc. Trümmelbach Fall - another deafening natural phenomenon in the ‘Black Monk’ mountain, hidden behind mighty rock faces. Up to 20,000 litres of water per second cascade over the ten glacier falls from a total height of about 200 metres. This spectacle can only be reached in summer by tunnel lift.
WENGEN: This picture-postcard car-free mountain village (with its nostalgic timber houses, the many dispersed holiday chalets and hotels dating from the belle époque period) lies on a wind-protected sun terrace at the foot of the Jungfrau, 400 metres above the Lauterbrunnen valley at an altitude of 1274 m. Since 1893, car-free Wengen has been able to be reached from Lauterbrunnen via the Wengernalp railway; cars remain parked in Lauterbrunnen. The key excursion destinations within the Jungfrau region can all be reached easily from Wengen. Climbers on the Eiger north face - one of the world’s most spectacular and difficult climbing faces - can be observed by telescope from the Kleine Scheidegg. Provided you change trains on the Kleine Scheidegg, the Jungfraujoch can even be reached by railway. And you can reach the Schilthorn summit from the valley floor resort of Lauterbrunnen via Mürren or Stechelberg. More info: www.myswitzerland.com/en-ch/d...
KLEINE SHEIDEGG: It is a mountain pass at an elevation of 2,061 m (6,762 ft), situated below and between the Eiger and Lauberhorn peaks in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. The pass is traversed by a walking trail and the Wengernalp Railway, which both connect the villages of Grindelwald with Lauterbrunnen, passing through Wengen between the pass summit and Lauterbrunnen. From Interlaken Ost train station, one can reach Kleine Scheidegg in an hour and 15 minutes via Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald. On the way to the Kleine Scheidegg you pass through Alpine villages, meadows and forests as you approach the mighty glaciers of the Bernese Oberland. The Kleine Scheidegg is known for its stunning views of 3 Mountain Peaks - the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau as well as its mighty glaciers. Kleine Scheidegg is also a stopover on the way to the world-renowned Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe.

@@AKSense thanks. During last week of may, most of cable cars and walking trails are not open , right ?
They start opening during last week of May (varies based on snowfall). First week of June is safe to get the similar views as well as operations of all cable cars, especially to Männlichen (you can find video of Männlichen Grindelwald on our channel).
Walking/hiking trails starts opening as soon as snow starts melting in the region (mid- May onwards). Higher the altitude, latter the opening.

If you really saw this video, you should have noticed the name of this train at the beginning of the video as well as in description. Anyway, from Lauterbrunnen, you can’t get a SBB train. Only this train (wengernalp railway) you saw in this video, can be boarded. If you have Swiss travel pass, it covers the journey until WENGEN station. You need to buy a separate ticket from WENGEN to Kleine Scheidegg (you get discount with Swiss travel pass). Transfer time at the Kleine Scheidegg Station to Jungfrau train is 2 minute. I see, i read the big letters and view as well as the train name itself on the side, my bad.
I purchased half-fare card and eurail passes for family of 4. And tickets to Jungfraujoch from Kleine scheidegg station. We plan to take trains from interlaken to Lauterbrunnen, get off x2 hrs then take train from Kleine to jungfrau. I asked because SBB app is showing me tickets on train CC 63 for chf 17.50 for trip Lauter to Kleine. It’s our first time.

@@nadzkypop2 Just to let you know, Eurail pass is not valid on Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen/Grindelwald train route so if you are boarding train from Interlaken, you must buy tickets for this journey too. You will receive 50% discount with half-fare card. SBB app is great choice, you can buy almost all public transport tickets on it even though some trains in some regions are operated by private company.

I was wondering if this entire train ride is covered by STP?
Only until Wengen, trip is covered in STP. One needs to buy additional ticket for further ride to Kleine Scheidegg.

how does passes like berner oberland pass work ?? It is something like paper permit which should be shown to officials in ticket counter to get access to trains or gondola or is it a card like visa card that can be scanned in station to get access ??
