Morrisette started her own label in the Philippines called Underdog Music during Covid. Previously she was signed with the largest label in her country. She does single projects with large labels when they have a song they want her to so. She writes and produces her own music like Wishing Well and her albums. She is known as the cover killer in Asia.
It don't matter what song you pick of hers, they are all fantastic in their own way. Try some her Wishbus performances from 6 years ago.

I grew up in the 80s 90s listening to the great female singers from that era. In my opinion her vocal style and vocal techniques are on the same level as the greats from the past. Morissette is a vocalist to the true sense of the word. Where someone like Taylor Swift is a incredible artist/singer because she has the ability to create and write her own music. But in my opinion she’s not a vocalist like Morissette. To answer your question why Morissette is not household name like Taylor Swift. I guess it all comes down to the “image” … yes it’s your image that sells records in todays music industry. You really don’t have to be a great singer to get to the top in todays music scene. If you have half a voice but look the part by dressing up looking like a tart then you’ll sell millions of records. With the aid of modern engineering enhancements like Autotune and pitch correction you can make an half decent singer into a great one even though you know they are not. It is quite sad that someone like Morissette that has a one in a million voice is not a household name. She has chosen to start her own record company and to self manage her own career. Hopefully in time the world will sit up and get to know who Morissette is and to enjoy and appreciate her amazing voice!

I think there are pros and cons to the technology helping singers be better. 1 con is less capable singers might get more attention than a naturally great singer. 1 pro is, it opens the barrier to entry for music and someone with a cool style can be known for music. I think style is just as important as talent. But you have to have at least a lil of both. No one wants a great singer with no style and no one wants a lot of style without substance.
All in all, I'm really happy to have checked out Morissette, and looking forward to getting to know her more

FYI, Resignation was written by Kiki Salazar, Dave Lamar (Now Morissette's husband) and Morissette herself. During the pandemic Dave (Morissette's fiancee) and Morissette wrote several songs Love You Still, Will You Stay, Phoenix, Mirror & Trophy on an EP entitled Signature.
All Information I can find state that resignation was written by the original singer Lee Younghyun... No mention whatsoever of Morissette. For some reason I don't think Morissette had anything to do with writing that song since it came out in like 2009 making her like 12 years old

Awsome guys. As a much older rocker, you just found my absolute favorite singer. It’s odd cuz I would never usually listen to person sing ballads. Keep exploring her, she will blow your mind. Two good ones by Morissette (ther are no bad ones), but you are truly just scratching the surface. I always say that newbies to Morissette should probably start with her 4 most iconic covers on the Wish Bus which is a radio station in a bus that travels around the Philippines and has incredible artists doing live performances on the radio. Those 4 are Rise Up, Never Enough, Akin Ka Na Lang (in Tagaog, so use subtitles) and Secret Love Song. You will be astounded. During Covid, she began writing/producing originals with her husband; and they are amazing as well.
