i do like very much your playing of scales over two octaves (three on my 5 string jazz bass) through the circle of 4ths. An approach i have never considered before. A very thorough workout and highly beneficial for fretboard knowledge and fretting hand dexterity
Personally I utilise the circle of 4ths when practising anything in the major key or jazz compositions and i reserve the circle of 5ths for minor key harmonisation and composition. Not a hard and fast rule set in stone naturally as we all approach musical theory in our own way but i found it has become habitual, easier and more to my natural musical orientation to practise (and teach) using the circle of 4ths although i never disregard the 5ths (which leaves me engaging the brain and neural pathways a lot more than i would like. Another great tutorial
Mix with a LEADING TONE = Circle of 5th All the circle of 5th dose is help piano player play the major scale in 12 different pitch. The C Major scale has the same intervals as the Ab Major scale...it's just in a different pitch. You're on a FRET BOARD..not a piano. You can use the fretboard like a SLIDE RULER to play in different PITCH, EASY. Thanks for this lesson. What is it with good bass teachers from the UK? Most of the best bass teachers on youtube are from the UK.
Glad you like it and to know you learn something useful! Cheers!

Just learning this. What time and effort is needed to be so proficient playing scales? Nice Marcus Miller bass.
It takes time but you can try the Bass Lab PLUS to speed up the process. Let me know if you're interested so that I can hook you up.

Bb7 ( dominant) to Eb MAJOR/ Cmin

or can play Bb dim/aug into B min/D MAJOR
or Bb augmented to G harmonic /melodic min ..ect ( G minor)
You could apply the N6 after the C MAJOR tonic

To circle up to the 5th

It dosnt mater..you can play B7 into E MAJOR or E min.
Once in E minor/G MAJOR.

or if you use the A melodic min b2
That would be F# aeo b4, b5
You could play F#7 into B min...You circle UP...UP...UP
once in B min, to cycle back down = B Harmonic min b2...
whalla C Maj7 /A min
or C7 into F MAJOR
or C Maj7 ( lydian) to G MAJOR/Emin
or C dim into C# min/E MAJOR
So lets step back to the 5th ( V) chord degree.
G7 into C MAJOR or C min
E7 into A MAJOR or A min
