I sensed in the beginning that the owner wasn’t too sure that DA was going to clear the drain. He needs to watch the channel! Best channel on TH-cam. Cheers from Florida.
You have to admit, if you didn't know who he was, you'd maybe have a hard time taking him seriously, seeing him walk like that, making Magpie sounds, etc.
Cracked me up when you lifted up ratty, and then pan back and the guy is in the corner behind the tree lol. Learned a lot on this one. Thank you for sharing.
Hello, from Somerset, in England!!. Your videos are fascinating. I have an interest in plumbing and drainage, so, these sorts of videos are right up my street.
I think it's just culture. Maybe they are there to be helpful in case the worker needs something. Or maybe he just wants to know what's wrong with the thing and how it has been fixed. In my case I tell them to call me if they need anything, but yeah I understand
I find older people do it because they are curious. Working in the city though fixing sidewalks we would get all sorts of people watching mostly because they haven't seen it before and are curious. Even had families with little kids watching.
I believe every trade has its “customer supervisor stories!” Now that I’m retired I think “man what I wouldn’t have given to have a Ratty of my own on all of those jobs.” Maybe it would’ve kept more of them at a distance versus breathing down my neck while I try to get my work done. You’ve got saints for customers compared to what I’ve dealt with doing electrical and cable tv/data! Some were real “PITA’s” lemmee tell ya. Never left one mad though, even though some were “special” customers! As a technician in the field it really sucked, but later in my years as a manager I would go out to see what the technician did to cause this complaint and it was actually kind of fun. I got to spend the companies money to correct all the damages. My favorite story of all time was running cable in a high-rise apartment building drilling through a cinder block wall into an office/spare bdrm. The technician didn’t measure correctly because he got the drill bit stuck in the wall then just left to stay on schedule and requested I show up to figure it all out. So, I show up and start tugging on the bit and I keep hearing slam, slam, slam from the other room. What happened was he had drilled through the wall directly into the back of a woman’s dresser into a pile of her silky lingerie! We’d use 18-24” wood or concrete bits that had a pinhole in the tip you could strip a couple inches of braiding off the cable and feed it through tying the cable to the bit itself. Nighties, G-strings, teddies and bras and had a melted molten glob stuck to the end of the bit from it being so hot hammering through cement! Looked like a cotton candy, it was huge HAHAHAHA! Anyway, I pulled it out from the dresser side of the wall, then ran the cable and finished the job but never said anything to her about ANY of it to include just hiding that big glob in my tool bag to leave lol. How the hell was I supposed to explain that to her? I was already beet red embarrassed, and couldn’t imagine bringing myself to tell her, so in a case like this somethings are truly better left unsaid... besides, it made for a great office wall addition because I framed it and covered it with plexi! That little gem ended up going to their regional training center where they taught new employees how to drill (and more importantly how NOT to) and run cable correctly. You may know the company, it’s had a few names over the years with the last one before this was Comcast but now its called Xfinity now LOL! Good times!
This customer is the way I'd be if Ollie and Ratty showed up at my place. I love this stuff. Id probably be in the way trying to get a better look. I'd do it for a living if I could handle the smells. 🙊 All good! 👍

It's first month of spring here in Sydney. Much warmer than the bleak Irish summer! About 25°C / 77°F today, and I am still wearing a singlet top at 11:20pm.
Did you pull out roots and ratty for the drain! Lol 😆 that was a tough one 😅 great job👍 and congratulations on getting the plumber of the year award 👏 you definitely deserve it 👍👍
We need... No, we demand... A good shitshow sewer line backup with crazy weird contents, with a koala and kangaroo in the background. That's all, simple request. 😁

Its good to have a guy like you to help out peeps in need. Keep up your fun and humor cuz realy like that is your vids. Greetzz from Europe Belgium.
I'd love to see this guy and post10 do a collab or podcast where they talk about the finer points of drain clearing, and comparing beavers to tree roots.
In this crazy mixed up world, when i'm about ready to blow my gourd over the stupidity and i'm at wits end, there's always a blocked drain to provide a bit of entertainment. Thanks mate

In one of the vids recently, Rati really did slip down one and it was the closest to panic I've ever seen Ollie get! He got him back ofc, and I think he's stuck a magnet to him for easy retrieval now.
We need to get ratty a life jacket or boat for these jobs! I was nervous he was going to take a dive in the hole to pull out roots for Ollie, Great work!
Lol I just remembered, there was one day a neighbor nearby had a drain clearing company out at their place, and the guy was leaving the house and I heard him say "you've got no problem". And then I imagined him having a knockoff of this show called "Clogged Drain", and instead of "all good", it was "you've got no problem", and he would have Mousey as a mascot.
Hey Ollie, you'll be coming up on 500 videos soon will you have something extra special for us 🤔 so whats next for Drain Addict keep up the good work and see you in the next video🤔😲💪👍😉
What a slap in the face to poor Ratty. He is very much REAL. I can imagine he went back to the truck and apologized to ratty like sorry man I just had to say that in front of the customer.

The song of plumbers! :D
Probably thinking hLouis Reini
how much that ‘s gonna cost him to have it power washed(!)🤒
By this point I think Ollie should use Ratty as a proper mascot of the business, like in the van's decals and business cards.
I wish we could buy Ratty toy as official DA' merch. I tried to find one that would looked exactly like Ratty, but there was none =(
I agree 100%
That lady thought Ratty was real. But he is real to us! 🐀 He's a sidekick like Donkey was in Shrek. 😆
but less annoying because he's not a talking donkay
Ollie always goes above and beyond... most rooters will get the water flowing and take off.. Ollie makes sure that drain is 100% clear
I sensed in the beginning that the owner wasn’t too sure that DA was going to clear the drain. He needs to watch the channel! Best channel on TH-cam. Cheers from Florida.

I bet your client was thinking why the heck is he walking like that??? Lol
Bet that wasn't all he was thinking, Ollie talking to Ratty in a conversation would've been priceless WTF

That moment you break the clog and you hear that wonderful draining sound. Ahhh so satisfying
Don't you just love it when the homeowner offers to supervise free of charge??
