      He has it figured out for the most parts except i saw him relasing the lever to switch speeds. Since its hydrostatic you do not have to do that. One hand on the left lever to lock both of them and the other hand to control speed and chute fonction.

    Both machines are top notch, I have the Honda and it’s a beast in Canadian winters, it’s only 6.5 hp with a 24” path but a lot more efficient compare to my previous 10 hp, 27” MTD,
    I have no doubt the Yamaha is just as good as well,
    I wouldn’t hesitate to buy either of the two.

    • @KF1
      @KF1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've been looking at the Yamaha version. Currently have the Craftsman track drive, but it offers no benefit over a wheeled version because it's not hydrostatic and doesn't have the push to keep the tracks moving.
      Yelled at a Honda operator using hydrostatic, hey buddy your machine good? He says yeah man, watch me.

  • @KF1
    @KF1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +25

    Excellent comparison and good demonstration of why you don't bother muscling, as it doesn't really do any good. That same effort used to keep the nose down while going slowly would have produced the same results with less effort, as shown with the Honda.

    Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

    I have a 8hp yamaha. It's about 20 years old. 10 years ago i forgot to tighten the oil drain plug and lost all the oil. It seized up while going through a 2 foot drift after running around 10 minutes with no oil. I soaked it in diesel and manually got the engine to turn over. Filled it with oil and still running like new. The carb is giving me a bit of grieve because I leave crap gas in it too long. My bad there, but the machine is an animal.

      Yamaha YS828 is a great machine. I bought an ultrasonic cleaner and put the carb through a good cleaning, and it paid off. Been running very well this winter, and we've had a lot of snow now.

      Cool observation. Maybe some of that is the technique. The Yamaha guy is wearing himself out fast, but he's managing to cram just a tiny bit more into the auger. Doesn't seem to make much of a difference, though. I'm betting if he let the machine just go to it, both would clear about the same.

      They're both basically identical being the best blowers you can get. The only edge I see over each brands is once you go top models where Yamaha with it's YT1332 makes a difference with it's similar near 600lb weight but with the smaller path meaning it doesn't wander around.

      @asgeirjohansen3518  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jeg er ikke proff, men har kjørt begge en del. Jeg vil si at Hondaen er litt enklere å manøvrere. Dels fordi den er mye lettere, og fordi at den har hjelpestyring på hendler. På grunn av at hjelpestyringen fungerer ved at det ene belte låses, hjelper ikke dette så mye i veldig dyp snø. Dette kjenner du kanskje til.
      Yamahaen har litt mer kraft, og er svært retningsstabil. Den har en veldig flott joystick. Opp/ned er manuell, mens sidestyring er elektrisk. Veldig bra.
      Beltene er rimelig lik. Mener å huske at Yamaha har litt lengre belte.
      Alt i alt ville jeg valgt Yamaha hvis det er masse snø, fordi motorkraften er stabil uansett hvor mye snø. Hondaens motorkraft «ga seg litt». Men Hondaen har moderne utseende, lettere, og gode manøvreringsevner under normale forhold.
      Begge er driftssikre.
      Til syvende og sist står man ovenfor et fargevalg. Rød eller blå😁

    SURPRISE PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW SNOW BLOWERS WORK..
    I'm not a Honda or Yamaha fan at all I'm a Toro guy..
    But
    The guy in the Yamaha was not doing that on purpose people!!! He was doing it because the machine was riding up on top of the snow automatically because THE FRONT WOULD NOT STAY DOWN!! I've experienced this with snow blowers that are not very heavy. So then you have to let it ride up on its own pull it back and then do the bottom half HE HAS NO CHOICE..
    On the other hand THE HONDA IS WEIGHED CORRECTLY IT'S GOT THOSE TRACKS I THINK AND IT KEEPS THE FRONT END DOWN!!
    How do people not know this if they have snow blowers..
    In other words for this type of snow the Honda IS A MUCH BETTER MACHINE..
    I've seen tons of videos on the Honda when they just let it go on its own don't even touch it it'll just go right through anything the snow will fall on top of it it won't ride up on anything it works fantastic

    Actually, That's appears to be a Yamaha YT624 model, and not the YS1070. (Known as the YS1028J here in Canada)
    The 10HP Yamaha would have a Blue or white top and the headlight would be mounted towards the front on top of the body just behind the auger housing. The YT624 is recognizable because it has a black fuel tank with the headlight mounted on the handlebar. I'm guessing the Honda is a 724 model as well, but both are NICE machines!

    so far I have replaced the switch that controls the shoot, the shock that controls the tilt of the machine and now it won't go in reverse and
    of course the warranty just ran out on the thing.And forget storing it in your shed, you have to keep it in a heated place or everything will
    freeze up on it and you won't be able to use it until it thaws out and it doesn't have to be very cold out for this to happen either its ridiculous.
