Wow I've only had about a week. I've used it maybe 12 times, but I think the scuffs and such are just from having other things sat on top of it and bumped into it. I'm pretty careful with it other than that

Was that a Gallagher replacement transformer that you used?? or was that one you had made for you??

The orange one was the factory one gallagher made themselves, but it's no longer offered. The gray looking one is made by the same place that made the analog fence tester. They manufacture their own brand of electric fence chargers and stuff. I sent them about a year or so ago a new board and a faulty board to sacrifice the original transformer off of and they came up with this version.
