  • We found this suzuki that had been sitting for years. abused and beaten. We restore it to its former glory and ride it. Its a 1991 suzuki lt250r. Replaced pretty much every piece. Lots of custom 1 of 1 parts.

    What a build! Most guys I know don't even bother running the OG 250 because they don't wanna deal with them, and they just swap an RM in it, but not you. That long travel, and short wheelbase is gonna be the perfect combo for duning. Ya'll did a fantastic job, thanks for restoring a piece of Sport Quad history.

      Thanks man really happy you like how it turned out and aren't just bashing are choices! It rides like a dream, very light feeling much better feel then some other sport quads we tried. Hard to believe it's 30 years old. Engine ain't the most powerful but has a very usable power band and low end torque

    Man thats got to be the coolest looking Quadracer iv ever seen. Iv owned a couple 85 and 86 one day i want to find a nice 87-92 and build something like u have done. Iv always thought the Suzuki looked better than any any quad except maybe a banchee both very cool. Honda 250r is a great machine of course but the money they sell for now i like the Suzuki lol!!
    Iv always thought the suzuki was over shadowed by the honda. With a build like urs the Suzuki isnt far behind the honda.
    Thanks for sharing again beautiful build.

      Thank you! And originally we wanted to build a honda 250r but the prices are just ridiculous, this was a very cheap alternative and I am very happy with how it performs

      Personally never understood some peoples hate on the Suzuki. Specially the 3rd gen great machines mine were durable and very fast. Even stock suspension isn’t that bad for having fun trail riding. 250r isn’t great until u put money into them both great machines. I personally think the LT250r builds more interesting now because iv saw so many honda builds. Anyway if i find a deal on a honda ill grab it if not ill find a Suzuki. Another advantage with Suzuki there lighter than any performance quad ever made i do believe anyway.
      Again sweet looking bike u built there.

      @@RedlineRollers more of a power band thing and predictable hit where as what im trying to describe is a lack there off in my 250r the whole 5th gear seems to scream because I don't have a power valve either. But my lt250r even geared down murdered my blaster. Both were far from stock I sold the blaster for ltz400 tho now I have old and new zukis

    Bad ass. Probably won't win any drag races but looks like you could rip all day long on that thing. Organic projects like this with no affiliate links or hand outs from the distributors make it that much better for me. Nicely done! I'm sure a lot of time went into it.

    Sweet build man! I want to build an 87+ lt250r also, since there pretty simple should I buy a frame and build it up? Or buy a clapper and build that? I feel like most of these 250r are in super rough shape and I'm better off building it ground up because most stuff will be getting replaced.

    • @RedlineRollers
      @RedlineRollers  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would buy the cheapest complete unit you can find. A lot of the parts for these are not available aftermarket, so starting with a complete quad will be your best bet. Make sure the frame isn't bent too bad, nobody makes an aftermarket frame anymore.

      I want to say the whole build was around $6000 -$7000 canadian dollars including buying the machine. Probably would have been $3000 - $4000 usd if you live in the states and don't have to pay import fees, taxes and disgusting shipping costs.
      Good luck with your build
