    My favorite part of any game is the level editor (it’s why LittleBigPlanet is my favorite game series), so JellyCar Worlds getting a level editor left me ecstatic.
    I think a tutorial or help section in-game may be necessary, as it can be a bit daunting to get into it. Nonetheless, the level editor freaking amazing!
    I do have an unrelated suggestion as well: maybe, after beating all skull levels/the skull rush, you could unlock the classic JellyCar shader, or maybe even the original JellyCar levels? I remember in one of the devlogs that certain people requested the ability to use the old shaders, so maybe this could be a way to implement that as a reward (similar to the shaders in Cuphead).

    That's an impressive level editor. I'm currently making a level editor for my game, this video gave me a lot of ideas to make the creation process intuitive and simple 🤘

    i really love the level editor and have been using it for fun. it would be cool to make stop signs and exit secrets not work, and being able to spawn more then 1 secret exit or stop sign. something really cool too would be if you made the car spawnpoint spawnable, that if you have more then 1 it spawns more cars (just like the dobule car challenges)

    I keep being amazed how you work on this stuff as a solo dev and get some much done. From thinking up designs, implementing technical features but also your vision, playtesting, keeping in touch with your user base and then still casually making these vlogs. I'm in awe at your output and good spirit!
    Let alone the technical details you manage, such as building the jelly engine or managing almost bug-free incremental releases on this game while continuing on other features until they are ready. Do unity projects work well with git?

      Yes Unity works fine with git (it’s what I use), although you will want to set Unity to prefer text-based serialization of scenes and assets, and most game projects have large binary assets such as textures, meshes, animations, etc. so using git LFS is pretty much a must.

    Love your works, I did play all your jelly car games and where is my water when I was a child. Just tried worlds on switch and is fantastic, thank you. Maybe I didn’t understand if it’s possible to import custom levels but would be stunning to try out and share levels with the switch community too.

      Thank you! unfortunately having a proper server and account + moderation system for online level sharing across the platforms is simply out of scope for this game. I've tried to think of ways to let people get levels on and off of a switch, but haven't come up with anything convenient/realistic.

    yay! i love watching your dev logs and i’ve been waiting for this one for a few days but when (if you make it) do you think you’ll make it to where you’ll be able to other peoples levels and post your own? (and i’m not pressuring or anything i was just wondering if you were gonna make it)

    Will we ever be able to play other people’s levels and/or post our own? That would be awesome. Also, is there any way to make an object that kills the player? Thanks for making such an amazing game!

    Suggestion: Boss battles
    They appear at the end of every level 8.
    All of them have 2 cutscenes each. The first cutscene is them being introduced, and the second is them being defeated.
    You have to attack them five times to defeat them. They have 3 phases.
    1. Presscrush
    Presscrush is the first boss. His ability is to squish you like a hydraulic press. And yes, he IS a hydraulic press. Every 3 smashes, he gets stunned. To attack him, smack his face by head-butting him. Oh his other phases, his smashing is just faster.
    2. Pumpaboom
    Pumpaboom is a rainbow square. His first ability is to spawn blocks that puff up like popcorn. If you get too close to the puff blocks, you die. His second ability is to spin at 900 speed. If you touch him if he’s spinning, you die. His third phase is the two abilities combined. He gets stunned after ten seconds. To attack him, you have to jump on his head with the grow ability.
    3. Cloudrz
    Cloudrz is bigger than those normal jelly clouds. When she spawns purple clouds, you have to avoid them, cuz they’re poisonous. Her second phase is dropping rigid blocks. If you get squished by the rocks, you die. Her third ability is lightning strikes. If you get electrocuted, you die. She gets stunned when she runs out of poison clouds, rocks, or thunder. To attack, use the balloon to clog where she drops the attacks.
    4. Stickeh
    Stickeh is a big clay blob of lavender gloop. He can jump and stick on walls. He can shoot superglue. If you get hit by the glue, you get stuck and Stickeh can kill you. It doesn’t count if you drive on blobs that already hit the ground. You don’t instantly get stuck if you touch glue, it just takes five seconds for you to get trapped. On his second phase, his glue is blue and stickier. On his third phase, he shoots lava. He will run into you at one direction and he will get stunned if you dodge his rush. To attack him, use the sticky tires ability to drive on his body. The stickiness of the sticky tires will make Stickeh stuck for a few seconds. If he tries to get unstuck, it will hurt, removing 1/5 of his health.
    5. Blasterboi
    Blasterboi is a meteor with yellow cracks. On his first phase, he shoots fireballs at you. You don't instantly die, you have a healthbar. On the second phase, he launches crystals at you. The crystals he launches are (insert ruby and her 35 sisters). On his third phase, he gets mad and shoots literal rocky planet cores. He sometimes has to reload. While he's reloading, you can attack him.

    Hi, when you solve the collision, do you apply the same force to the spring that collides in one shape and the mass point of the other but with oposit direction? I mean friction force

      Yes the friction applies to both objects (the point and the line segment on the other object)

    An autosave system would be useful, along with a way to load previous saves. Still, I’ve been enjoying the game.

    level editor looks great. ik it would be a lot, but any ideas on making a way to have online level sharing in game that isnt just uploading and downloading files? would be great for switch players to be able to share and download custom levels

      I agree that would be a great addition… but I also have to balance complexity, cost, and safety (JellyCar is enjoyed by people of all ages including kids), so I’m not sure if I will ultimately be able to add it.

    Hi, congrats for your great game. Could you do a short showing up how the sticky tires powerup works? It would be very helpful cause I'm making a softbody game

      You’re making a soft-body game?!? Nice!!! The sticky tires basically create a temporary spring between the point mass on the tire and the object it touched upon collision. The attached position of this spring is updated with each collision, and the spring is destroyed if it stretches too much.

    Feature request one: the exit/edit button (“↩️ level editor”) should DEFINITELY be a single click as you’ll want to do that a LOT.
    Also question: how much does this look like your own tools and would this have been the preferred (faster) way to make your own levels?

    I don't like that on iOS, you have to click twice to deselect a previous selection. this is among many other slight issues I have with it but nonetheless I am really enjoying the level editor and am already having fun with glitches, often to do with increasing numbers beyond 999, like layer 999 being hidden or a gravity zone on 999999999 speed despawning (ish) objects that touch it. it's a lot of fun! I would like to be able to scale, edit and rotate objects in groups

    Some times when I play my level as soon as I click play I just die so can you fix that bug

      That means you have some objects that are unstable / exploding somewhere in the level. Try moving the car start position around so you can see what’s happening in different spots around the level.

      You need to add a button to the level, or a signal detector, and set them up to use the channel you want.
