funny, I thought the opposite. It better advertises pokemon than the craftsmanship. There is so much less artistic leeway in these and they more look hyper selected and vetted by pokemon to make sure their properties are very easy to distinguish while the materials or craftmanship isn't clear. There aren't videos of the people making them, they aren't next to other crafts using these materials. It looks more like a giftshop than anything.
I will never in my life get to see these things & I'm so glad they exist. Such beautiful art & it's exactly the stuff you would expect to exist in world as well.
Wow 🤩 I would never have had the chance to see this without your video. I love the Pokémon characters and as an illustrator this is candy for the eyes. I love the combination of amazing Pokémon characters brought to life in beautiful, traditional artistic mediums. Thanks so much for sharing🫶🏼
Thank you for sharing this, I would love to see this in person but I'll never get the chance to due to illness, so being able to watch this is very much appreciated! They are amazing pieces of artwork and such fun at the same time, I bet the artists had a brilliant time creating these.
Some truly remarkable creativity and craftsmanship on display here. This exhibit will be over before I go to Japan, but I am so grateful you posted some highlights so we can all see. Thank you!
I like how Sobble's completely covers most of his features save for the eyes, like he's camouflaging himself. The pots with he half emerged mons and egg were really cool too because it shows the design process and how something new and beautiful can be born along with it being an appreciation for life and creation. The 3d plates with Mantine and Mantyke make it look like your viewing them underwater and in the sky respectively calling back to their typing. The swirls on Mantine evokes ripples and Mantyke has seagulls. The stonework Moltres looks also like it's emerging from an egg with how it's curled up, a nod to the phoenix lore. I also like the Hawaiia Alolan kimono with the starters, Alolan Raichu, and Oricorio as well as the Mareep one. The pattern on the left side with the 2 shades of pink evokes an image of sheep leaping over hedges.
Thank you so much for posting this video ! This is my dream exhibition but I doubt I'll ever be able to attend so it was nice to be able to see some of the pieces :)
Dang! This is a beautiful exhibition. I cannot take my eyes off that stunning Mudkip! I hope this show will travel around, and in my neck of the woods.
Every single object in this video is absolutely breathtaking. And I say this as someone who has more or less stopped being a Pokemon fan like 15 years ago
I feel like even just having a passing knowledge of Pokemon makes this so much more impactful. Seeing every piece gives you an "oh damn" moment as the art is stunning, but knowing what it came from is even better. I hope they do it with other IP
The three Galarian starters have a pattern similar to "Batik", a Javanese art of clothing pattern! Thank you for showcasing the inside of the museum, hope you don't get into trouble for posting it on TH-cam.
Wow these pieces of this amazing Pokémon art exhibit look so stunning and beautifully detailed my favorites are the Mewtwo statue, Eevee with Vaporeon, Jolteon and Fleareon , shaymin and Vulpix and Ninetails thanks for sharing this amazing video 👍❤️
Holy wow, so many stunning pieces! Thanks for showing! The merging of pop culture and art is always fascinating. The wooden Ho-oh with the kumiko base (0:28) is absolutely amazing... but I basically love every piece. The pottery pieces are awesome, too. This is one reason why I'll always defend Anime, Manga, Comics and similar to death - even despite all the utter garbage that exists under these names these days, it's still art and it yiels inspiration and positive emotions for whole generations of people.
this exhibit was one of the coolest things we saw all trip along with Teamlabs Borderless which was one floor down from this exhibit. Both incredible if you get the chance.
Those sculptures are what I want from a pokemon life action film. Not what we got with Detective Pikachu. Like, I get it, people liked that movie but I want the pokemon to look like real animals, not necesaryly ugly and gresome like I've seen from some artists, but, you know.
oh i saw some in an instegram reel, at 1:11 in the background was my favoriet pice. It is a really round vase, with so much flower blue decoration and in between are pokemons from afar you will not see the pokemons only when you look at it closely.
Would you recommend doing this exhibition and team labs in the same day if they are in the same building? I'll be in Tokyo in a couple of weeks, and trying to plan my days
As long as you got to one of them early you easily could. We spent about 2 hours in teamlabs and 1 hour in Pokemon. I'd recommend trying for Teamlabs in an early slot near opening to have the smallest crowds. Both were the best things we did in Japan
It was really tricky, all the glass cabinets kept reflecting the camera and there were tons of people there, including a couple that took selfie couples photos in front of every piece, making it really hard to get unobstructed shots. Glad we got what we did, but I think if we took any longer recording they'd eventually have tried to kick us out :P
Great job the pokemon art is fantastic we are getting closer to have reality coming to life one day we just need to use technology to make it happen people
They were advertising this when i was in Japan sad i missed it because it looks incredible. But fuck do i hate Azubudai Hills its like yuppy central on steroids.
Azubudai Hills was a weird one, the architecture and buildings were all really cool and new, but you nearly never saw anyone. Giant skyscrapers and next to no one there, it's like they found a way to keep the riff raff out :P Yet at both the exhibition and Teamlabs borderless downstairs as soon as you're at the entrance, crowds materialize out of nowhere.
Why is this legitimately such a good way to get people who otherwise might never care or be interested in traditional Japanese crafts?
It's a great way to get people to learn about traditional crafts

They made Pokemon look like ancient artifacts!!! 🤍❤️🧡💛💚🩵💜🤍
I don't think I've ever wished to see an international museum more than I have just now.
This is so incredibly cool. Really hope it becomes a traveling exhibition.
It would be great if it did!
It would be cool if some of these got featured in future games.
That would be amazing!
I will never in my life get to see these things & I'm so glad they exist. Such beautiful art & it's exactly the stuff you would expect to exist in world as well.
They are absolutely amazing pieces of art
I wish I could be there to see the art

It was amazing to see all the artists different interpretations of pokemon! Thanks for watching
These are incredible
I hope this exhibit travels to more museums around the world, I’d be elated to see this at the Frist!!
I would love to see the exhibition tour the world!
I audibly said “oh my god” when I saw mewtwo. *ALL* of these pieces are truly awesome, and I want them all!!!! :3
Absolutely stunning. Thanks so much for sharing.
I'm genuinely jealous.
It was an amazing exhibition, so valid.
Thank you for sharing this, I would love to see this in person but I'll never get the chance to due to illness, so being able to watch this is very much appreciated! They are amazing pieces of artwork and such fun at the same time, I bet the artists had a brilliant time creating these.

I think the exhibit is going to be in different parts of Japan later this year, so it may be worth double checking the website
The Ho-Oh looks stunning! So detailed. The craftsmanship is astounding
Everything was spectacular!
What a beautiful exhibition! The Eeveelutions are such an eyecandy 😄 Thank you for sharing!
I loved the eeveelutions as well! Would have loved to see the other eeveelutions in that style

I’m in love with the Kumiko Ho-oh!!!
Thank you so much for posting this video ! This is my dream exhibition but I doubt I'll ever be able to attend so it was nice to be able to see some of the pieces :)
Thank you for watching! Hopefully the exhibition goes on tour internationally at some stage!
That is a wicked art exhibition
this is so neat! i dunno why but i actually started tearing up at one point. thank you for sharing this 💖
Same, and I am not usually that kind of person.
Dang! This is a beautiful exhibition. I cannot take my eyes off that stunning Mudkip! I hope this show will travel around, and in my neck of the woods.
I'm pretty sure it's going to change locations a few times, not sure about your neck of the woods though.
Fingers crossed the exhibition goes on an international tour!
@Bobsyagod I'm an hour drive away from the Getty museum, so I've seen rocking exhibits. So... fingers cross this show goes international.
Such a beautiful pokemon art exhibition! I love it! 😍 I would go, if i were in Japan. Maybe someday. One can dream, anyways! 🤩😭
I would love to have one of those in my living room ❤
Shaymin and the galar starters are so beautiful. I wish i could go there right now.
5:31 bread pots!! I love them. I really adored the last plate as well
The plates were so cool!
Every single object in this video is absolutely breathtaking. And I say this as someone who has more or less stopped being a Pokemon fan like 15 years ago

Thank you for watching!
such amazing work!! thanks for sharing them with us. the stoneware pieces were my favorite, but they were all incredible.
😻😻😻😻😻 5/5
I loved some of the stoneware pieces as well! 😀
i would love to see some traditional japanese paintings with pokemon
That would be amazing!
We honestly need to do more stuff like this in America.
We need more of the same in Australia too!
I’m sorry. Yes, I am grateful you got what you got. I hate that about museums. It was a lovely exhibit, thank you for sharing.😊
That Jolteon was awesome 🤩
It was so cool
If only I‘m rich enough to afford one of this :(
Imagine special patterns like the ones at the end of the exhibit obtainable in-game like special shiny pokemon….
That would be amazing!
Oh the Vaporeon and the ho-oh made me gasp! I want them in my house so I can appreciate them forever
They're both really striking!!
i would of killed to see these in person
Holy crap these are all SO gorgeous
They sure are!
I really love the plates!
Piplup is my favourite of the plates!
these are all stunning i especially love all the pottery ❤
The pottery was amazing!
Amazing and beautiful art work💖. Thank you for sharing💖
Thank you for watching 😊
Thank you so much for sharing, I'm nothing but mesmerized by the art! ✨
Thank you for watching! It was amazing to see the art in person
@BecTries I can imagine. :D Just so lovely, I wish I had the opportunity to see it irl, too. ^^"
The Megaman/Astroboy/Mewtwo hybrid at 2:20 was a bit disturbing.
If that was the original design for Mewtwo, it explains quite a bit.
I just wanna walk around each art piece and yell “who’s that Pokemon!!” 😂
That would be amazing 😂
i see Shaymin. i click on video.
El arte de Pokemons y el arte de tunearlos !!!!😱
MARAVILLOSO !!!
Gracias por compartir!!!
👍👍👍👍👍👍
so cool!!
Incredibly cool!
Holy wow, so many stunning pieces! Thanks for showing!

I still don't understand why some people don't see manga/anime as an art form! It's such a weird stance to have
Thank you for showing us this is amazing
Thank you for watching 😊
Absolutely gorgeous!
It was amazing!
so this is where the sv budget went to XD
😂😂😂😂
Those need to be put into Arceus 2 item list
That would be so cool
The shaymin is so pretty! I want that as a jar.
Shaymin jars or mugs would be so cute!
I feel like the PokeBalls were underrepresented. Otherwise epic coolness and thank you for sharing!
Already jealous but then THAT BEAUTIFUL BANETTE, my FAVORITE POKEMON
Gods I wish I weren't so broke, so thank you for sharing this!!
The Banette was amazing. All the intricate gold work was gorgeous
Uh it’s so Fantastic. I Wish i can have one or two pieces❤
this exhibit was one of the coolest things we saw all trip along with Teamlabs Borderless which was one floor down from this exhibit. Both incredible if you get the chance.
Wonderful, but I missed the credits of the artists. Really brilliant inspiration!
Cool
This is fantastic ❤
Me, a broke Canadian with spinal problems so i cant travel: welp. Guess i dont get to see them all :/
whoa this is so awesome!
I hope by the time I go to Japan I’ll get to see such beauty❤

They definitely look a lot more realistic than some of the Pokemon potrayed in Detective Pikachu!

That was one of my favourites too, but unfortunately the camera had a real hard time recording it. I got good photos though.
@@Bobsyagod but all of them are so amazing. just that love for details, all the artist are so great. so happy you could see them live.
🤠
if this comes to the us plz tell me
I will definitely be keeping an eye out for any updates for exhibitions outside of Japan
this was in LA back in 2023!
Would you recommend doing this exhibition and team labs in the same day if they are in the same building? I'll be in Tokyo in a couple of weeks, and trying to plan my days

You can absolutely do both in the same day! If you need a break in between, there is cafe's nearby as well
Pretty
かっけぇ
holy shit they made a shiny shaymin
It's so cool!
I ask myself how there do this
This is truly wonderful. I wish the camera work had been better.😢
