They were hoarders but of collectibles and knickknacks for decades. They stored things from attic to basement. The basement had rooms they rented out to the railway workers as the railway line was across the street (it was a maze down there like the basement in Silence of the Lambs). We worked at cleaning out the place for two weeks and eventually gave up because there was too much stuff to remove in time for the auction. I’m glad we stopped because In the basement were four antique iron wood burning stoves, all the size of truck beds. The basement stairs were wide but they must’ve put those stoves in the basement soon after it was poured but before the rest of the house was built, probably with a crane.
Is "touch your carpet" a strange euphemism for touching, um, pubes? Yet a commonly recognized euphemism that I somehow haven't heard my whole life? That women would talk about at a dinner party and their husbands would understand, even though it was referring to some home renovators? Because that story doesn't make a lot of sense otherwise. Hell, even with that explanation it barely makes sense.

He said it was from his sisters but they didn't live with him and it was all specifically in his room. He did eventually get rid of them or hide them somewhere else after a few months of me asking so maybe he was being honest, but him being so nervous whenever the subject was brought up was really weird.
Cleaned out a house in Savannah for a realtor. The place looked like the evictee had invited a bunch of friends for a massive party, threw every piece of clothing and knicknack he couldn't pack onto the floor, then skipped town and left it all to the roaches.
My mom works in real estate and she has to go and check people’s houses when they move out she went to check a house(she described the client as very rude and was in a hurry to get out) and when she went to check on it I kid you not the whole house was left alone nothing removed including clothes tv’s and jewelry nothing at all the whole house was left there and the woman just left after further inspection nothing was wrong with the house she just left. After hope parents died, my great great aunt turned into quite a hoarder of disgusting things. Most was a result of her own laziness in her forties to fifties or so. She would piss in pots and pans and put them in front of the door so you could only come through the back door. Even to get on the back door you would have to kick things out of the way to clear a path. I think the worst part was the time she slept with the body of one of her deceased dogs for 3 days until my great grandfather, her brother, went and got it out for her because she said she couldn't lift it. Eventually the house was too full of nastiness and nonsense so she lived in her car which was also filled to the brim with nastiness and her nephew, my grandfathe,r had to weld the door back on at least twice after she pulled it closed before settling herself and sat down on the edge of the door causing it to break off the car. Her house was so disgusting that the county actually came out to this rural Mississippi plot of land and told her/the family that if it wasn't cleaned up with in 30 days they were going to arrest her and bulldoze the property. She never was arrested but my great great grandparents home did have to be bulldozed and last I knew she was living in a small mobile home on the land with family members regularly checking in to clear out things that she might try and hoard.
found three literal one meter cubes hidden behind a wall in my best bro's house where no one really went at. (the basement was a concrete, cobweb, pipes, wires, bugs... type of basement. not the one you live in). Absolutely no idea what they were for, how they got them there and why they even exist.. My friend told me that they are just empty metal crates and i should leave them alone. they are not metal crates. could not even move the boxes one millimetre and on the side facing away from us, it said: PB, LEAD, 207.2 i was 10 at the time
