I think people who do the cheap kits tend to prefer rounds but people who do high end kits tend to prefer squares. For squares, quality really really matters because they need to fit together perfectly whereas for rounds, you can get away with lower quality drills. I also prefer working by in small sections with release paper.
This is true. I ordered a Parthenon painting with square drills. It was expensive. It will be my first square kit
Just came across your channel, I have to say all your unpopular opinions are the ones I share too! Squares are so incredibly satisfying & glu dots yessss - I use them in my four placer too, its a bit of a learning curve but worth it.
I would love to see you placing your AB’s with your tweezers. Mine seem to become Cirque de Soleil performers when I try to pick up drills with tweezers!
I would love to see you place your release papers on the canvas, maybe on one of your next unboxing videos? Loved this video. Love glue dots, too, rather than the waxes in my single placer. I use a 10 placer now from Diamond Art Club and can't go back now because I can also use it for 2 or 3 or even single place with it sometimes. 😉 I love the accessories, but I think you find what you love and want to stick with it regardless. I prefer squares for detail, rounds for speed. Of all the things I've tried to pick and place diamonds, glue dots has absolutely been the best thing that works for me. I love/ hate confetti. I work in sections because I am slow and I so don't get overwhelmed. When I use release paper I overlap it a little because I can't get it to line up very well.
I loved hearing your opinions, popular or unpopular. I'm a square girl and live a mix of confetti and blocking....as long as it makes sense. ❤
Hi Michaela. I agree with most of what you’ve said. I would looove for you to show us how you section with release paper. I have the hardest time lining them up so I sweat the whole time 😅. Also if you could show us again how you put glue dots into your single placer. I tried rolling and sticking it in but when i try to shove it in the pen it gets stuck to my tweezers. I almost always have some sticking out.
I used to use release paper but then started using washi tape and loved that. Im working on my second kit now with the perferated cover and i am loving it so much. I know not alot of people like it but i think its brilliant 😍

I prefer release papers too. If I don’t see my painting I do not get overwhelmed especially with bigger canvases. I would not call your segment unpopular opinions but what I have learned ….
Loved the video. I use release papers rather than washi tape because the tape doesn’t stay sticky enough for me.
I def prefer squares as well...I just got back into it ..stopped for 4 years, and still have an unopened DAC (EKKK !!).gonna finish this Amazon squares one first ..then maybe jump into dac , but I was told by another utuber that Angie and Oliver, they had issues with the drills from that kit ( released 2019 -2020 ) ..so.idk if I should...really loving ur Chanel!!! ❤❤
I tried release papers for a while, but the reason they don't work for me is that I roll my canvases when I'm not working on them, and the release papers tend to curl up when I do that, and sometimes some of the canvas gets exposed. I have issues with washi tape too, though, which is why I'm loving the perforated covers! I'm totally wishing all my kits had that now. XD

I use glue dots in my multipliers. I like it. The only thing I struggle with is ABs, I use putty or pink wax but it is still sometimes it is a struggle. Do you have a recommendation?
Square lived as well. My fave in my pens is Alien Putty, also love release papers, can't have plastic since my cats will chew it. 😂
The word: confetti, for me, isn't fun with cross stitch but it IS fun with diamond art. It just adds a nice effect when it isn't excessive. Just stumbled onto the channel! Love it so far!
Just use really worn out wax or putty wuth ABs, it works like a charm 😊
I never use washi tape. Always release paper. I lay it out first on the painting the figure out the size and which placement is best.

I’m not much for multi placing, so I’m a single placer 99.9% of the time… even for large color blocking areas because I can get the drills really straight. I prefer to multi place rounds since it’s easier for me. My last one is containers. I have EW containers. I like them enough and will use them because I bought them, but they’re not my go to storage method. I have my cross stitch conversation in it and have had them tied up with that for close to 6 weeks and don’t miss them, 😂
Washi, I use on the boarders to keep them clean

I’m new to DP and can’t figure out how to tweezer place in tight places. There isn’t room on the sides of the drill or the angle is off. I do need to have my work at an angle due to neck pain so that keeps that be part of the problem. Do you have a video about this or suggestions?

Washi, I don’t know what release paper is, I use washi tape on the perimeter of the painting to keep it from sticking to my hand
