- When the WWE toured Australia in July, 2013, one of the first missions for heavyweight champ John Cena, was to make a littler boy's dream come true. TODAY's Mike Dalton went along to watch the champ do his stuff...
Can't stand his character on screen, but the guy himself is an outstanding example to all people not just children. Infinite respect.

I may not be a fan for John Cena in the WWE, but i have 100% respect for John Cena and other wrestlers that do things like this it is truly an Amazing thing.
I don't care what anyone thinks about his in ring persona, that is just a character. His true character is what he does outside the ring for these kids. As a father of 3 healthy boys I thank God I never had to go through this kind of stuff. My 10 year old loves him and I have nothing but respect for the man. Keep it up John!! You are a true hero.

I still don't get why people don't at least respect Cena.I myself want him to be more ruthless and change his gimmick in the ring. But him as a person is what you either like or not like. Just like every other superstar and every other person you meet, you either like or not like them, but try to base of the person not their gimmick on the ring or what they do in life. How can people not admire this? All those grown ass men not only hating on Cena, but then just saying only kids look up to him why don't you do some changes so kids will look up to you. Yes he appeals to kids and maybe part of his no changing gimmick is for the kids, but what other superstar has that? He deserves respect for being so special in so many young lives and having the most passion for the WWE than anybody else. That is why I love the guy and that is why I love seeing him doing these wishes and on TV. His technical wrestling and him not being the best wrestler in the ring goes away when you talk about him in general.
Stuff like this always tears me up for some reason. RESPECT.

My absolute favorite thing about this video is when John heard that this sweet and adorable little boy has CP, he personally wanted to go there house and give Rhys the tickets for nights show! Rhys got to see his hero twice in one day, to me that is incredibly AMAZING! 👊🏻😊😀

People always complain about how wrestling is fake and how some people in the wwe just think about themselves. But stuff like this is what matters! Its for the kids and for seeing the smile on their faces.

He may not have all the moves like some of the other wrestlers, but as a person he is a roll model not many people would do what he does, i have a lot of respect for this man, and i would happily shake his hand if i ever saw him and tell him to keep it up.. kids need better roll models these days and he is it in a nutshell, stand up for what you believe in, never give in to hate and be true to yourself

NOPE. it's because he's not entertaining. he isn't a badass, he isn't funny, he isn't a good worker in the ring, he exploits charity and troops to try and get over with the crowd and we think he's garbage because his character is so stale.
He has really good comebacks and he is a good wrestler. His slogans are nice and everybody knows that he is really nice out and in the ring.
SmartMarkSteve that's your opinion. i'm not a big fan of cena myself. but trust me he has improved in the ring over the years watch his 2003 stuff for proof. i know why the iwc does not like him. but in the end of the day who cares. you don't see lebron at make a wish. or is at GMA with kids the night after wrestlemania (or in his case a game) cena is just doing what the writers on raw tell him to do. if you really hate a guy for trying to make kid's dying wishes come true than you're sick. you don't have to like cena on tv. but YOU HAVE TO RESPECT CENA THE PERSON

Yes they do get mentioned on WWE.com, but rarely on TV. Besides nobody else grants as many wishes as Cena.

I have to admit that i feel a little bit sorry for John Cena. Must be hard work granting all those wishes, too. And how does it feel to say "No" to a dying kids wish? Would he dare? What was the number? 300 wishes in round about 4 years? I doubt to have the power or the will to grand a wish every third day. Seeing all this sorrow, spending so much time with people i don't know etc. He will feel pretty good afterwards but man....i'm sure it's hard sometimes.
