IMHO one of the best covers of Pride out there. Incredible band, two insanely talented vocalists. So lucky to see this in person...their voices meld perfectly against a backdrop of thunderously perfect music.
omg best cover ever. Army of Anyone rocked, Flyleaf rocks, Richard Patrick is amazing, and one of the best u2 songs and almost impossible for anyone to cover well. They pulled it off though, loved the screaming too.
Big fan of Filter and U2, odd combo I know but finding out Richard Patrick was a big U2 listener before he formed Filter fascinated me. As for the muted audience reaction... I can't say I blame them... I doubt the average Filter or Flyleaf fan would care for U2... maybe that's just my old way of thinking
How Absolutely Amazing Is This 🤘🏻 Lacey Sturm Vocals & Scream are Amazing & the Lead Singer of Filter who Sings one of my All Time favorites songs “Hey Man Nice Shot” Rich😮throws in a scream or 2 Also z🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Lacey's got a great voice! and i love it when she screams, and then Richard Patrick trys to "scream" after her. LOL! he attempts screaming twice! Lacey can out-scream, and out-sing him, it's so cute, and they hug at the end. i like this vid.
This is such an awesome performance I would love to see if anyone else has video from another perspective...I love rare performances by good musicians that spontaneously try to work with each other...
Richard is literally throwing up his pipes, sounding perfect and the audience looks too dumb to appreciate. You’re a god damn inspiration, Rich. You too, Lacey.
I LUV Flyleaf and I LUV Richard Patrick, and if only these two merged and remade this song, it would be so awesome!!!! Plus... If the cover is that good, then you can only imagine what the video would look like!!!!
Richard Patrick is his name. He's the lead singer for Army of Anyone and Filter, and former guitarist for Nine Inch Nails. His brother, Robert Patrick is an actor who played T-1000 in Terminator 2:Judgement Day among many other things.
yeah they really sound great together. @odrwon , i think Lacey really does a quite perfect performance if you consider her ability; mostly i think she's got a really unclean voice live with sometimes even false notes, but thats because she sings much lower and harder live then on her album. But with Richard Patrick she really keeps up and the 2th voice part she sings is clear as crystal! Really amazing and i really think this is one Masterpiece.
The crowd here were obviously dumbstruck with awe, I know ppl are commenting that you'd be jumping and clapping, but if I had of seen this I wouldn't be able to physically move, I'd be crying with joy
its more about passion to me. people express it in different ways when they sing, and some just rip out their vocal chords by singing with every bit of energy that they've got. some guys do it well, like richard, and others totally suck at it because they just dont have the voice and especially dont have the passion to pull of the power of the voice. idk what AoA concert you're talking about, there were more than 1, but the ones ive heard he sounded awesome.
Bgrotha666 I think I know why this place looks so familiar. I believe it's the Tweeter Center in Camden, NJ . They even say in Buzznet's interview that they "think" they performed it in New Jersey. I'm pretty sure that's it.
My pleasure, and that's fine, as I said, we're all entitled to our opinions, you happen to like Moseley's voice, and that's fine, so long as you don't knock others for not doing so. I say good job for also being civil about the whole matter. :)
I think that besides being "Yoda-size", that's why Lacey is up on that platform. I've seen him knock her around a small stage quite a few times. I'm always scared for her safety when I watch a clip of them doing a particularly rockin' jam.
It's a great song for Patrick to cover as he and Bono have a similar vocal range (but he's a better screamer--one of the best, hehe). In any case, sounded pretty good.
LOL my bad. All open stadiums in NJ look the same anyway...lol. It's weird how Lacey is singing a lower harmony along with Richard's lead. Because she has a really high voice and all. Awesome performance!
I get that you really like flyleaf and I really like them also and I do not want to take away from your love for the band, but are they really one of your all-time favorite bands or are you just saying that to profess your love for the band.
It's kind of like the Chirs Cornell thing, but he sounds like Kurt Cobain there. It's basically singing, while the scream sound is produced by bringing the vestibular folds aka false chords to vibrate together. I can get the grit on high pitches, but struggle around the middle of my range. Of course I've never had pro voice coaching, and still have a long way to go, but for the most part, it just comes down to practicing correctly, whether you have professional help or not.
I haven't really been talking about whose a better singer this whole time though. The only major vocal difference for men, is whether you're a baritone or a tenor. "Natural talent" isn't something that should define who sings well and who doesn't. I couldn't go past my speaking range when I first started, but now I'm able to match most of these songs note for note. Unless you only like hard rock singers who sound like Richard (tenors/high baritones), everyone can sound good if they practice.
Yes, yes I could. I have, mabye not as much as she does but I played in a band for 2 years and we played out alot and opened for some acts... so yes, and get over it anyway it's an opinion and nothing you say can change it ;-)
By that I mean. Well, it's not about being loud by pushing hard. Rather, using the correct technique to get a full boomy and resonant sound. Being loud doesn't matter one bit if it sounds small to everyone else. Plus getting the equipment mix right matters too. I thought Richard sounded a bit quiet during that one Army of Anyone concert, when he was probably singing his balls off...
15 years later and I’m still coming back to this video. Too bad there isn’t a better video quality version but Richard’s voice is a masterpiece.
I don´t understand why people do not JUMPPP!!!!!! THIS IS THE MOST AWESOME COVER EVERR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LACEY & RICHARD PATRICKK !!!!!!! I
This song is on my get up n get ready to kick the day in the nuts playlist. Listen almost ev day
Ahah same... I dont understand why people do nott jump!!!! Really insane cober.. two great bamds/simgers together
Lacey has such a Beyoutiful voice
Still coming back to this, Richards voice is so strong.
Amazing duet of U2 song!! !!
Yeah, definately the best U2 cover I've heard. I hope there's a studio recording in the works.
I love this!!! Outstanding by Lacey and Richard Patrick.
Richard has a fabulous voice and I think he did a great job on this song. Lacy did a great job on the harmonies too. Awesome!
2020 still.listening this
IMHO one of the best covers of Pride out there.
Patrick has a voice that gets under your skin, best vocalist of the 90s
Big fan of Filter and U2, odd combo I know but finding out Richard Patrick was a big U2 listener before he formed Filter fascinated me. As for the muted audience reaction... I can't say I blame them... I doubt the average Filter or Flyleaf fan would care for U2... maybe that's just my old way of thinking
Flyleaf and Richard Patrick covering U2? That is awesome!
Wow! They sound fantastic together and sing this song so well - but that crowd blows! I would have been rockin out if I was there.
I love flyleaf so much they are so on my top list of favorite bands of all time!
What's up with that audience?! How could you *not* be standing and cheering the entire song?! That was AWESOME!!!
hola
did you guys know that Richard Patrick is the brother of the guy from T2 who plays the T1000?
How Absolutely Amazing Is This 🤘🏻
Lacey Sturm Vocals & Scream are Amazing & the Lead Singer of Filter who Sings one of my All Time favorites songs “Hey Man Nice Shot” Rich😮throws in a scream or 2 Also z🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I like Richard Patrick + Flyleaf. So the 2 of them together sounds awesome...
Lacey's got a great voice! and i love it when she screams, and then Richard Patrick trys to "scream" after her. LOL! he attempts screaming twice! Lacey can out-scream, and out-sing him, it's so cute, and they hug at the end. i like this vid.
filling in ambience for her; i agree that both are fucking outstanding singers, though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
great song, and great singing by the always awesome Richard Patrick!
This song sounds great played by U2 but also by these guys!!
This is such an awesome performance I would love to see if anyone else has video from another perspective...I love rare performances by good musicians that spontaneously try to work with each other...
This song is amazing. I loved it from the moment I first heard it, hands down
That's what I thought. Thanks. The harmonizing sounds beautiful.
Nice combo of Lacey and Richard singing such a great u2 song. A+
Outstanding!!!
This was so great, and look at the place!! It's nearly empty!!
Army of Anyone is the lead singer of Filter (Richard Patrick) with a couple of the guys from STP.
Lacey has such an awesome and unique voice. Richard Patrick has some strong vocals. Love that stuff...
Richard is literally throwing up his pipes, sounding perfect and the audience looks too dumb to appreciate.
You’re a god damn inspiration, Rich.
You too, Lacey.
Excellent presentation!!!!!!!
Because they're one of the most underrated bands of all time.
I LUV Flyleaf and I LUV Richard Patrick, and if only these two merged and remade this song, it would be so awesome!!!!
Plus... If the cover is that good, then you can only imagine what the video would look like!!!!

Flyleaf and AOF rules :D
Que buenas bandas las dos !

She soooooo small!!! hahahaha
Looks like an Elf on her personal circle stand!!
Nice cover!

soo cooll.. I love this song..
it's so amazing
beautiful version
Wow I usually hate live covers, but omg is this well done or WHAT!?
wow i havent heard this b4! lacey ROCKS!!
Richard Patrick is awesome!
i get goosebumps all the time i hear this even the quality is bad.
Great performance. I love Lacey!
not many people seem to know Richard here. Sad.... or maybe the mics couldnt pick up the audience's screams?
aww pat is not over-reacting or hyper...he just loves rocking out xD i love this song
He's the bass player, for the billionth time today.
he's just into it
I can't believe I missed this, I had to wait for my cousin to get home and then he HAD to tailgate.
I cant beleive the crowds so tame, Id be going insane. Its a real pity Filter's done, I would kill to see that band reunited and performing again
richard patrick, army of anyone's singer, is also the frontman of Filter. The DeLeo brothers from Stone Temple Pilots are also in Army of Anyone
Lacey is best female screamo singer *-*
she song is on the Family Values CD
yeah they really sound great together.
This is a fly cover (pun intended). But seriously, this cover is great, passionate, moving, touching and inspiring
The crowd here were obviously dumbstruck with awe, I know ppl are commenting that you'd be jumping and clapping, but if I had of seen this I wouldn't be able to physically move, I'd be crying with joy
"pride" in the name of love-u2
@ToMaTt247 ray luzzier said that its a great possibility that they will do another cd once the 3 bands tours are over
Great cover. I'm not a huge fan of U2,l but I love this song.
whoa. richard has a great voice.
i love flyleaf :D wuhoo
His real band is Filter
Hmm.... They sing good together
its more about passion to me. people express it in different ways when they sing, and some just rip out their vocal chords by singing with every bit of energy that they've got. some guys do it well, like richard, and others totally suck at it because they just dont have the voice and especially dont have the passion to pull of the power of the voice. idk what AoA concert you're talking about, there were more than 1, but the ones ive heard he sounded awesome.
PNC Arts Center!!!! Yeah!!!
I'm lesbian for Lacey. ;)
Both Lacey and Richard are VERY talented. As well as the guys from Flyleaf and AOF. THEY'RE AMAZING!!
"Manilow called, and he wants his crowd back"
Hahahaahaha
Is that the Garden State Arts Center (or whatever they call it now?) in Holmdel?
I'd gotten them started!!
Esta canción es muy buena, y mejor aun el Cover que han hecho Flyleaf junto con Richard Patrick.
Bgrotha666 I think I know why this place looks so familiar. I believe it's the Tweeter Center in Camden, NJ . They even say in Buzznet's interview that they "think" they performed it in New Jersey. I'm pretty sure that's it.

This version of the song just ROCKS man. But the crowd - man, I've never seen anything so lame during a concert before ;)
he did a great f****** job
this is a good cover!
It's a great song for Patrick to cover as he and Bono have a similar vocal range (but he's a better screamer--one of the best, hehe). In any case, sounded pretty good.
If there's a U2 cover album, Richard should definitely be in it. Gosh, they both sound almost alike.
@odrwon this wasn't a competition, it was a collaboration. there is a difference.
LOL my bad. All open stadiums in NJ look the same anyway...lol. It's weird how Lacey is singing a lower harmony along with Richard's lead. Because she has a really high voice and all. Awesome performance!
powerful!! yea
Richard Patrick is the brother of actor Robert Patrick (Terminator 2)
Wow thats pretty rare haven't heard any band cover U2, they do deserve though for making rock n roll history.
A new Filter CD or Army Of Anyone CD??
MADE IN BRAZIL
aee flyleaf 100% rock
melhor banda
I get that you really like flyleaf and I really like them also and I do not want to take away from your love for the band, but are they really one of your all-time favorite bands or are you just saying that to profess your love for the band.
fucking awesome performance!!!

Richard's voice definitely matches and maybe even surpasses Bono's voice on this song.
At 2:38 who is singing what part? I have the album and I still can't distinguish who's singing what part.
Four words. Bee You Tee Full!
Great job on the the vocals you sound amazing Lacey didn't even hear the other guy that much you should have just covered the thing rock on...
yeah, i KNOW for a fact that his wasn't meant for rock music exactly, but Lacey and Richard can sing a pretty mean U2 song! it blends great.
pretty good.

hehe, whoops... thank you, Zahrim Thoth.
Is there even a person named "Richard Patrick?"
wicked cover
