Great Video!! I see a lot of people talking about Fake MPPT controllers, but your video was the only one that showed how to prove it. As it happens, I bought the exact charge controller you tested. I am not disappointed that it is not a MPPT but because the company lied. I am replacing an equally inexpensive Renogy Wanderer controller for a my 200 watt system because Renogy failed to honor its warranty. Thank you

That's right, it's not an MPPT controller. It is not even a good PWM controller but a simple voltage controller. Plus it's badly assembled because the mosfets are not in full contact with the metal plate. Unfortunately, to buy a real PWM controller, you have to spend some more money on a more reliable manufacturer (like Epever). MPPT is already a completely different financial level.

all you have to do is look at the output on the display. I fit's on-off-on-off it's a PWM. They are nothing but a switch providing pulses.
MPPT will vary at first, and be a steady number

Lol, same happened to me, I got note between input and output are same current! impossible! Must be low current input than output is more current depend high volt input example 15 volts or above, and output 12-14 volts battery meaning MPPT, but it's PWM! Damn, better get quality expensive and heavy include inductor coil.

Can the induction coil be very small like the size of your fingernail in a 60 amp controller?

That's not possible for a "true 60amps MPPT charge controller". The induction coil and heat sink account for about 90% of the total weight of the gadget.

Induction coils in a charge controller look like small rings wound with copper wire. Some controllers have two or more small copper coil rings while some other brands have larger copper wire rings. Induction coils are very obvious and are clearly seen as soon as the controller casing is removed
