My dad & I loved The Flash. The scene where Clooney shows up and Ezra said “Who the fuck is this?” we just about died laughing. We had not laughed that hard in years.
1. Godzilla Minus One 2. Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning - Part One 3. Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves 4. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 5. A Haunting in Venice 6. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 7. The Flash 8. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania 9. Wonka 10. The Marvels Granted, I've only watched 8 other movies this year besides these ones. But I definitely enjoyed these ones. The top 3 are great. I was genuinely stunned to find myself sobbing at the end of Godzilla Minus One.
Oppenheimer is my #1 movie this year, I’m such a history nerd that I got so much out of it. Magnificent performances, one of the best soundtracks, and Christopher Nolan. That being said, The Iron Claw is easily one of the best films I’ve seen this year. Such a devastating and emotionally resonate film that touched me on another level. I also dug how the movie was definitely Texan

In terms of 2023 movies I’ve only seen rise of the beasts, Mario, and Godzilla minus one, Godzilla was fantastic, just saw it for a 4th time yesterday with my dad and uncle

Great list, Sean. Happy to see Air as your No. 2. It remains my favorite movie of the year. I've seen it at least 5x. Highly rewatchable and relistenable thanks to the soundtrack. But it seems to be a bit forgotten since it came out in April around the time the Mario movie was making a billion+. Love your midlife crisis drip comment showing off your kicks while wearing shorts. I got minus zero problems having a Godzilla movie as No. 1. I've been going on a Godzilla binge watch and it's no doubt the best Godzilla film and one of the greatest disaster films, period. It actually makes a great double feature with Oppenheimer since we finally see it from the Japanese POV after the bombs had hit. I'll probably try to catch The Iron Claw this week. Thank you again for recommending Heels which should be a perfect prep for it. You and your family have a happy new year!
Yeah Air was a pretty 🔥 movie. I think what I appreciated most is that even tho we know WHO is tied to the shoe, we focused more about the people surrounding and doing the work for the shoe. Not ever seeing Jordan’s face onscreen cemented that further, great film overall
1. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 2. Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning 3. GOTG Vol. 3 4. Oppenheimer 5. Scream VI 6. The Creator 7. Poor Things 8. Super Mario Bros 9. Blue Beetle 10. Fast X Have a Happy New Year Sean; Thanks for the great videos you made this year and have fun in CA
My top 10 favorite movies of this year: 10. (Tie) Air and The Holdovers 9. Barbie 8. Nimona 7. Creed III 6. John Wick Chapter 4 5. (Tie) Godzilla Minus One and The Boy and the Heron 4. Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 3. Oppenheimer 2. Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse 1. Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning
I get what you're saying about the Falsh. I felt very similar about Godzilla: King of The Monsters. As someone who grew up with the older Godzilla movies, and it just connected to me more than it did with other people. And all the problems with the film went to the back burner, because of seeing the classic monsters on the big screen was something I've always wanted as a kid
10. Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes 9. Rebel Moon 8. Dungeons and Dragons 7. Mario 6. The Flash 5. Mission Impossible 4. GOTG 3 3. Spiderverse 2. Sound of Freedom 1. The Shift
1. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 2. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 4. Creed III 5. Scream VI 6. M3GAN 7. The Super Mario Bros. Movie 8. Elemental 9. Oppenheimer 10. The Flash
Great top 10 list, and I'm so happy to see you have Godzilla Minus One at number 1. I remember a vid of yours from about a year ago when you were interviewing people asking them their most anticipated movie of the year, and one guy said Godzilla from Toho, and you hadn't heard about it (mainly because not much was known at the time). And now it's your favourite of the year (mine too). Awesome.
Too bad Mission Impossible was released in the same weeks as Barbenheimer. No hate to Barbie and Oppenheimer but Mission Impossible was so good and it's so sad to see it get overshadowed by those two. It definitely deserved more credit.
🎉 Happy New Year, Sean. While my top 10 list would include only 2-3 of the movies on your list, I appreciate the way you present the why, and emotions that you felt, as such strong justification for your rankings. I am grateful for the chance to learn a different way of looking at movies. Thank you 😊
Great list! Here’s my top 10: 1. Across the Spider-Verse 2. Poor Things 3. Oppenheimer 4. The Holdovers 5. Bottoms 6. Killers of the Flower Moon 7. Barbie 8. Asteroid City 9. John Wick Chapter 4 10. American Fiction
My top 10 10. Sisu 9. Saw X 8. Dungeons & Dragons 7. Evil Dead Rise 6. Mission Impossible: dead reckoning 5. GOTG 3 4. John Wick Chapter 4 3. Spider-man Across the Spider Verse 2. Oppenheimer 1. Godzilla Minus One
I’m so glad that Iron Claw is garnishing lots of praise despite only being in theaters for about 2 weeks now. Zac Efron gave one of the best performances of the year
1: Across the Spider Verse 2: Oppenheimer 3: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 4: Godzilla Minus One 5: John Wick Chapter 4 6: Wonka 7: Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning 8: Killers of the Flower Moon 9: Super Mario Bros. Movie 10: Barbie HM: The Flash, Elemental, The Holdovers
I may not have the best list based on the movies I saw from this year, but here are mine: 10. The Super Mario Bros. Movie 9. Leo (Netflix) 8. Barbie 7. Wonka 6. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves 5. Nimona 4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 3. Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3 2. Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning: Part One 1. Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse
Have to genuinely say, if mission impossible 7 didnt do ilsa faust dirty, it would be an unquestionable film of the year for me but because of what they did, its the one single film that has fell off the hardest from best in the franchise to a cheap excuse for setting up a new villain which they never explored before and ruined one of the greatest on-screen female characters and not even give her a proper send-off, would love to hear your thoughts on this sean since the fanbase seriously hates the film just because of this one reason and its pretty much universal
Love your analysis on The Flash. I lost my father this past April unexpectedly (at 21 years old). Like you, I would love to have another conversation with him. Sometimes it’s good to emotionally connect to a movie even if people weren’t the biggest fans of it.
1. Killers of the flower moon 2. Poor Things 3. Spider-verse 2 4. Oppenheimer 5. Godzilla minus 1 6. Dream Scenario 7. GOTG3 8. Sisu 9. Nimona 10. Dungeons and dragons honor among thieves.
1. Oppenheimer 2. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 3. John Wick Chapter 4 4. Killers of the Flower Moon 5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 6. The Holdovers 7. Talk to Me 8. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 9. Godzilla Minus One 10. The Iron Claw
Good list Sean! Just curious since I haven’t seen this movie on literally ANYONE’s list but I know you enjoyed it, so i’m wondering if Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant was close to making your list? I loved it personally but feel it has went massively under the radar.
My top ten: 1. Guardians Vol. 3 2. Across the Spiderverse 3. Oppenheimer 4. The Iron Claw 5. Blackberry 6. Saw X 7. John Wick Chapter 4 8. The Killer 9. TMNT Mutant Mayhem 10. Dream Scenario The Flash, Air, and Wonka just missed my top 10!
10. The Last Voyage of Demeter(Great thrills and great time!!!) 9. Blue Beetle(Awesome Family Superhero movie!!!) 8. The Iron Claw(Hard Hitting emotional movie!!!) 7. Gran Turismo(Action great and good story!!!) 6. Guardians of the Galaxy 3(Great end to the Trilogy!!!) 5. Air(Amazing Underdog story!!!) 4. Oppenheimer(Amazing Cast, Amazing visuals, and Great story) 3. John Wick 4(AMAZING FINALE FOR WICK!!!) 2. Godzilla Minus One(BEST GODZILLA FILM EVER!!!) 1. Spider-Man Across the Spider-verse(BEST FILM OF THE YEAR!!!)
I don't know if you saw the original Godzilla film from 1954 (the original Japanese release version, not the edited american version). In that film Godzilla was esentially representing the atomic bomb.
My top 7: 7. Five nights at Freddy's (9/10): I get it if you don't like this movie because it has a lot of problems, but I can look past that because I'm a big fan of the franchise. 6. Oppenheimer (10/10): I don't have any original thoughts on this one. 5. TMNT Mutant mayhem (9.5/10): I don't get how people dislike this movie. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions of course, but I don't understand how you could watch this, and not have fun. 4. Extraction 2 (9.5/10): There are some story problems, but in terms of the action this movie probably has the best action of any movie ever in my opinion. 3. Mission impossible 7 (9.8/10): This is my favorite Mission impossible movie, and I was pretty surprised by how good the third act was, because usually the 3rd act is the worst act of Mission impossible movies, but for this one the 3rd act is the best of all 3. 2. John Wick 4 (10/10): Top 10 movie of all time for me. 1. Across the spider-verse (10/10): Maybe my favorite movie of all time.
While I loved Godzilla Minus One and think its possibly the best Godzilla movie ever made, it's nowhere near my favorite of the year. I would definitely put Oppenheimer, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning, and Across the Spider-verse above it. I still need to see Iron Claw.
my favourite movie of the year is The Five Nights At Freddys Movie, yes not the best movie of the year, But my favourite none the less, if your readying this, HAPPY NEW YEAR❤️
My top 6 Best Movies of 2023: #6. Sound of Freedom #5. The Flash #4. John Wick Chapter 4 #3. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 #2. Nimona #1. Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse

My top ten favorite movies of the year: 1. Scooby-Doo and Kypto Too 2. Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One 3. Super Mario 4. Spider-Man: ATSV 5. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts 6. Indiana Jones 5 7. Blue Beatle 8. Evil Dead Rise 9. Five Nights at Freddy's 10. Grans Trismo
Awesome top 10! Heres mine 1) Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse 2) Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 3) Talk To Me 4) Scream VI 5) Missing 6) The Super Mario Bros Movie 7) Thanksgiving 8) Transformers Rise of the Beasts 9) Five Nights At Freddies 10) Strays ATSV is my favourite movie of all time
Across the spider verse has gotta be the best spider man if not the best animated movie of all time. the VFX are really breathtaking and phenomenal at the same time. it involves the story of miles morales and Gwen stacy traveling through the multiverse encountering different spider people from different dimensions. Can’t not wait to see Beyond the Spider verse to release in 2025.
These aren’t the 10 best movies of the year. These just happen to be the 10 movies that made me love film the most in 2023. 10. BlackBerry-An exploration of human relationships and the fear of being irrelevant through BlackBerrys, and while I never would’ve thought of that, that’s so much of what can make movies so magical 9. Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1-Once again, this is another awesome addition to this franchise that has a very engaging plot, solid humor, a fantastic pace, high stakes, and of course, incredibly exciting setpieces that only reinforce that Tom Cruise is the only person in Hollywood who’s 100% committed to doing what no one else will do 8. Godzilla Minus One-Even though I’ve never specifically been a big fan of Godzilla, that doesn’t stop this movie from being a powerful story of redemption, traumas, and guilt that fits wonderfully well with Godzilla, which himself is easily the best usage of Godzilla I’ve ever seen 7. Saw X-While I wouldn’t have thought the tenth film in a nineteen year old horror franchise would be on this list, I thought this was a fantastic Saw experience that has all of the ideas, gore, and twisted plot points that makes this franchise interesting, but with a lot of emotion and depth coming from John Kramer/Jigsaw in the lead, making for my biggest surprise of 2023 6. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3-An incredibly emotional and satisfying sendoff to these characters that has all of James Gunn’s mean streak and humor, while having all of his care and love for this family of heroes that have meant so much to me 5. John Wick: Chapter 4-The magnum opus of the John Wick franchise that combines the compelling story of the first film, the great world building of the second film, and the jaw dropping action of the third film to make for one of the absolute pieces of action cinema in recent years 4. Air-Despite not caring about sports or shoes at all, this movie is an excellent example of taking a story that I shouldn’t have found interesting, but finding the compelling angle in that story to make for an entertaining, inspiring, and fantastic movie 3. The Iron Claw-An incredibly powerful exploration of the high highs and low lows that come along with family with outstanding performances all around, and while I don’t get emotional at movies often, I would be lying if I didn’t shed a couple of tears in the last bit of this film 2. Oppenheimer-Yet another triumph from Christopher Nolan that’s about subject matter I wasn’t interested in at first, but makes for an incredibly compelling film filled with plenty of fantastic performances, incredible cinematography, and ideas and themes that really made me think about the world we live in, making for a film that truly solidified Nolan as the top working director of today in my opinion 1. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse-A fantastic sequel to Into the Spider-Verse that continues the themes, ideas, and character arcs that made that film so amazing, while expanding the story, storytelling, and incredible animation of the first film as well, making for a phenomenal exploration of the inner strength it takes to be Spider-Man
Honestly I don’t typically do a top 10 list for the movies I’ve seen this year but there were a few movies that really stood out to me personally and those are: 1. Barbie 2. Maestro 3. The Iron Claw 4. Oppenheimer 5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 6. M3GAN 7. Wonka 8. Air 9. Godzilla Minus One
I really enjoyed the Flash but I wouldn’t put it on my list much less over Killers of the Flower Moon. Anyway Happy New Year Sean look forward to 2024. And fun fact with 3 exceptions I have all the same movies on my list
Agree with almost everything but it seems odd to have Oppenheimer at 4. 2023 was Oppenheimer and everything else. Nobody else is is the same arena as Nolan.
I’ve seen all these movies except numbers 10, 3 and 1 and that’s mostly because the Iron Claw isn’t even out yet and I don’t even know if Godzilla minus one will be released in Ireland. My favorite movie of 2023 is definitely Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. It was the movie I was most anticipated for, the one I probably saw the most this year and it was the movie that made me cry for the first time in years. That alone is impressive. It was the perfect send off for our favourite band of misfits. Here’s more of my favourite films of the year (not in any particular order)… - Puss in Boots The Last Wish (released in 2023 in Ireland so it counts) - Aftersun (also 2023 release) - Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse - Nimona - Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 - Gran Turismo - Sound of Freedom - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem - Avatar the Way of Water (also saw in 2023) - M3GAN - Air - John Wick Chapter 4 - The Super Mario Bros Movie
I saw about 25 movies: 1. Guardians 3 2. The Flash 3. Across the Spiderverse 4.John Wick 4 5. Godzilla Minus 1 6. Monster 7. Totally Killer 8. Killers of the Flower Moon 9.The Killer(kidding😂) 9. Saw X 10. Mission Impossible 7
Top 5 for me: 1) MI7 2) Oppenheimer 3) Wonka 4) Leave the World Behind 5) GOTG3. Top 3 were all great movies, next 2 were enjoyable. Least favorite of the year would have to be Across the Spiderverse, unfortunately.
Here's my Top 10. 10. Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse 9. Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir The Movie 8. Blue Beetle 7. The Super Mario Bros. Movie 6. Elemental 5. Godzilla Minus One 4. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 3/2. FNAF/TMNT (these two are tied for both places.) 1. The Flash
10. May December 09. Killers of the flower moon 08. John Wick 4 07. Oppenheimer 06. Anatomy of a fall 05. Barbie 04. Poor Things 03. Across the Spider verse 02. The Killer 01. Zone of interest
If I may give a recommendation: Watch Jigarthanda Double X and thank me later 😊 It's a gangster drama with dark comedy, political themes, and is constructed an an ode to cinema through its theme, meta plot and movie references. (Loosely connected prequel to Jigarthanda, 2014, great too but not on the same scale) Another rec is Sapta Sagaradaache Ello (Side A & Side B), a hard hitting romantic/action drama about a young couple dealing with separation when the man goes to prison. Both have very high ratings but are sadly mostly unknown in the west because it's from Indian cinema 😩
Hey sean chandler thank you for the journey in 2023 for the ranking video's and the movie/tv reviews can't wait for more and brand New content in the next year aka 2024 happy new years eve sean chandler family and I wish you a happy and healthy new year🍾🍾🥳🥳🎉🎉love from the netherlands❤🇳🇱❤
Oooh how close was The Holdovers to this list? My top 3 were Oppenheimer, Godzilla Minus One and The Holdovers (still waiting to watch The Iron Claw and American Fiction before making a full list)
- Creed III - Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves - Evil Dead Rise - Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 - John Wick - Chapter 4 - Luther: The Fallen Sun - Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part 1 - Oppenheimer - Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse - The Super Mario Bros. Movie
Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes deserves to be here imo. First movie I’ve gone back to see multiple times in a while. Exceeded all expectations
Across the Spider Verse is easily my favorite movie of the year but Gotg 3, The Boy and The Heron, Mutant Mayhem, Dead Reckoning Part One and Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes are up there too. I’m sure Godzilla Minus One and John Wick Chapter Four would have made the list if I had been able to go see them.
My top 10 9- Super Mario Movie 8- Elemental 7- Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 6- Fast X 5- A Man Named Otto 4- Barbie 3- Oppenheimer 2- Sound of Freedom 1- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3

I won’t, I have Covid so I’m stuck in my bedroom…
I usually say no promises to that, but I can do that
Definitely keepin it chill tonight. Happy new year everyone!

Such a good list man, dungeons and dragons is in my top 5 too!
Dungeons and Dragons was such a big surprise for me. I didn't expect it to be so amazing. It's in my top 5 favorite films of 2023.
Oppenheimer is my #1 movie this year, I’m such a history nerd that I got so much out of it. Magnificent performances, one of the best soundtracks, and Christopher Nolan. I’ll admit, I started typing out a “rage comment” after you announced The Flash was on the list, but I’m glad I heard you out. I hadn’t considered that and I’m really glad it connected with you in that way.

Despite the strikes and the number of box office flops, 2023 was the best year for movies since before the pandemic began.

Good list man, D&D was very surprising 😂

Dead reckoning was amazing! Such a shame it underperformed at the box office.
10. Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

Thank you 😊

1. Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse
My top 3 John Wick, Oppenheimer and Sisu.
Incredible #1 pick. Glad I’m not alone. He’s the King of the Monsters for a reason.
Love your analysis on The Flash. I lost my father this past April unexpectedly (at 21 years old). Like you, I would love to have another conversation with him. Sometimes it’s good to emotionally connect to a movie even if people weren’t the biggest fans of it.
Haha you dressed up…hell yeah. Thanks Sean!!

1. Spider-Man Across the Spider-verse(BEST FILM OF THE YEAR!!!)
Love seeing the appreciation for The Last Voyage of the Demeter. I think that film was very underrated.
@jaredliebergen1179 agree. I'm a fan of Dracula the book. And to see this film take inspiration from The middle of the book. That was awesome
@@nikobrien88My people, happy to see some others who liked it

@@nikobrien88 Demeter that’s what this thread is talking about 🤣
I don't know if you saw the original Godzilla film from 1954 (the original Japanese release version, not the edited american version). In that film Godzilla was esentially representing the atomic bomb.
Godzilla Minus One is incredible! Thanks Sean for posting a review of it. That convinced me to go see it.
My top 7:
7. Five nights at Freddy's (9/10):
I get it if you don't like this movie because it has a lot of problems, but I can look past that because I'm a big fan of the franchise.
6. Oppenheimer (10/10):
I don't have any original thoughts on this one.
5. TMNT Mutant mayhem (9.5/10):
I don't get how people dislike this movie. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions of course, but I don't understand how you could watch this, and not have fun.
4. Extraction 2 (9.5/10):
There are some story problems, but in terms of the action this movie probably has the best action of any movie ever in my opinion.
3. Mission impossible 7 (9.8/10):
This is my favorite Mission impossible movie, and I was pretty surprised by how good the third act was, because usually the 3rd act is the worst act of Mission impossible movies, but for this one the 3rd act is the best of all 3.
2. John Wick 4 (10/10):
Top 10 movie of all time for me.
1. Across the spider-verse (10/10):
Maybe my favorite movie of all time.
So happy you put the flash in here, I always feel like I'm the only one that likes it!
I wanted to love M:I-7 but a couple plot points in that movie disappointed me so much that I drop it from my Top 10 list this year.
my favourite movie of the year is The Five Nights At Freddys Movie, yes not the best movie of the year, But my favourite none the less, if your readying this, HAPPY NEW YEAR❤️

2023 is over?
@@MonsterXenomorphVelocira-uq3mjyes
Hi
These aren’t the 10 best movies of the year. These just happen to be the 10 movies that made me love film the most in 2023.
10. BlackBerry-An exploration of human relationships and the fear of being irrelevant through BlackBerrys, and while I never would’ve thought of that, that’s so much of what can make movies so magical
9. Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1-Once again, this is another awesome addition to this franchise that has a very engaging plot, solid humor, a fantastic pace, high stakes, and of course, incredibly exciting setpieces that only reinforce that Tom Cruise is the only person in Hollywood who’s 100% committed to doing what no one else will do
8. Godzilla Minus One-Even though I’ve never specifically been a big fan of Godzilla, that doesn’t stop this movie from being a powerful story of redemption, traumas, and guilt that fits wonderfully well with Godzilla, which himself is easily the best usage of Godzilla I’ve ever seen
7. Saw X-While I wouldn’t have thought the tenth film in a nineteen year old horror franchise would be on this list, I thought this was a fantastic Saw experience that has all of the ideas, gore, and twisted plot points that makes this franchise interesting, but with a lot of emotion and depth coming from John Kramer/Jigsaw in the lead, making for my biggest surprise of 2023
6. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3-An incredibly emotional and satisfying sendoff to these characters that has all of James Gunn’s mean streak and humor, while having all of his care and love for this family of heroes that have meant so much to me
5. John Wick: Chapter 4-The magnum opus of the John Wick franchise that combines the compelling story of the first film, the great world building of the second film, and the jaw dropping action of the third film to make for one of the absolute pieces of action cinema in recent years
4. Air-Despite not caring about sports or shoes at all, this movie is an excellent example of taking a story that I shouldn’t have found interesting, but finding the compelling angle in that story to make for an entertaining, inspiring, and fantastic movie
3. The Iron Claw-An incredibly powerful exploration of the high highs and low lows that come along with family with outstanding performances all around, and while I don’t get emotional at movies often, I would be lying if I didn’t shed a couple of tears in the last bit of this film
2. Oppenheimer-Yet another triumph from Christopher Nolan that’s about subject matter I wasn’t interested in at first, but makes for an incredibly compelling film filled with plenty of fantastic performances, incredible cinematography, and ideas and themes that really made me think about the world we live in, making for a film that truly solidified Nolan as the top working director of today in my opinion
1. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse-A fantastic sequel to Into the Spider-Verse that continues the themes, ideas, and character arcs that made that film so amazing, while expanding the story, storytelling, and incredible animation of the first film as well, making for a phenomenal exploration of the inner strength it takes to be Spider-Man
Great list man 🔥
Honestly I don’t typically do a top 10 list for the movies I’ve seen this year but there were a few movies that really stood out to me personally and those are:
1. Barbie
2. Maestro
3. The Iron Claw
4. Oppenheimer
5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
6. M3GAN
7. Wonka
8. Air
9. Godzilla Minus One
I really enjoyed the Flash but I wouldn’t put it on my list much less over Killers of the Flower Moon. Anyway Happy New Year Sean look forward to 2024. And fun fact with 3 exceptions I have all the same movies on my list
Sean I’m with you, The Flash is in my top 10 and I thought it was amazing and I don’t listen to the hate.
Agree with almost everything but it seems odd to have Oppenheimer at 4. 2023 was Oppenheimer and everything else. Nobody else is is the same arena as Nolan.
Amazing pick for #1. Same here.
Here’s more of my favourite films of the year (not in any particular order)…
- Puss in Boots The Last Wish (released in 2023 in Ireland so it counts)
- Aftersun (also 2023 release)
- Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse
- Nimona

- Gran Turismo
- Sound of Freedom
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem
- Avatar the Way of Water (also saw in 2023)

5. Godzilla Minus 1
6. Monster
7. Totally Killer
8. Killers of the Flower Moon
9.The Killer(kidding😂)
9. Saw X
I love how you can just watch Oppenheimer and then right after watch Godzilla minus one and it feels like the same continuity 😭😭😭

May december was so weird in a good way
If I may give a recommendation:
Watch Jigarthanda Double X and thank me later 😊 It's a gangster drama with dark comedy, political themes, and is constructed an an ode to cinema through its theme, meta plot and movie references. (Loosely connected prequel to Jigarthanda, 2014, great too but not on the same scale)
Another rec is Sapta Sagaradaache Ello (Side A & Side B), a hard hitting romantic/action drama about a young couple dealing with separation when the man goes to prison.

At least The Boy and The Heron is up there 👍
