I lived in Jonker till the 80s before I moved to another part of Malacca. Still love the authentic atmosphere of the 70s and 80s. It was Jonker Street, then it became Jalan Gelanggang. Now it's back to Jonker. It's too commercialized now. The best part of the year then was the Chinese New Year Eve and the morning of first day of Chinese New Year. It was happening, I mean real festive happening.
I hate it when seller don't display their prices especially those items that have art element. Please la Seller Malaysia, you are an ambassador for Msia tau, you are frontliner for tourist. Remember that.. ha done ceramah hahahaha
Ya lah. We should shame them kawkaw, the way we do with Kelantanese who overcharged anyone for speaking bahasa luar back then. Now, they no longer did that since they realised the whole Malaysia got angry.

Not all tourist are rich. If they find it expensive, with current vlogging and stuff, people will not recommend a place, do not question why your shop got no customers or tourist passing by.

Hi Kumaar.., if u're in Malacca..., come & visit Portuguese Settlement..., end of June there's a Fisherman Festival which we call Festa San Pedro... There's Live Performance shows..., Portuguese Food..., traditional games & etc... But Christmas here will be the Best Time to Visit Portuguese Settlement...
You're senses gets overloaded when u walk down Jonker Walk. A lot to see, taste and smell but it's a chaotic fun 😊

Awesome! To see the view. Wow. My both parents used to travel there pretty close to yours many decades ago. I have not been there yet. I have decided not to travel far south to jakarta, Indonesia, or far south. I heard about there which might not be a good place to go. Right? If it is, how sad!! Btw, have a great times!! Be safe.

First time Jonker experience was 10years ago, when I met my wife... it was a must every year. But Jonker has changed, now it feels everybody sells the same. Food choices are less or it's very commercial. We do not go anymore.
