    The sprawling building with a lake at 05:35 is 'Waterside', BA's Head Office.

      Operations hq, actual HQ and where taxes, etc are paid is Madrid.
      Hence a more accurate name given real world ownership and management hierachy (eg BA cannot buy airframes itself) is SpangloQatari airways.

    Thank you for sharing this trip here. Your meal did look nice in this set up. You enjoyed the main part of the meal and that was ok!☺ But I am glad you went to the British Airways lounge before the flight. That looked nice there. Finally, you made me laugh speaking about the child/baby noise behind you!!!☺ I understand and agree with. I also don't want the respectable Mother and cute child right behind me nor right beside nor right in front of me either!!

      Thanks so much on all fronts! Thankfully the kids were pretty quiet post takeoff 😅

      Hahaha☺. I hear you!! And again, with respect to those mothers traveling with the children, they are also on vacation!! But I have become more mature in my age so, I want it more calmer on the especially long-haul flights. I have the points to be in Business Class and Premium Economy. The first rows next to the bulkhead wall in Premium Economy are nice on a few airlines.

      Nit sure I'd choose to describe their unreliable IT, policy of underprovisioning and absence of working customer service channels as "impeccable", without question many of the front line staff are superb but that doesn't fully mask the hollowing out that's been going on for two decades

    Looking myself for london to Rome soon and i just cant see the value of flying ba on any class for euro trips even if redeeming avios as the tickets are double if not triple budget carriers

    • @Travelsbydreamer
      @Travelsbydreamer  ปีที่แล้ว

      They’ll for sure be a number of non BA options for you. For me, I’m a big fan of the economy product, I think it’s one of the better ways to fly in Europe without spending too much, especially if booked well in advance. On the avios front, typical redemptions these days are now just £1…

      Recently booked BA Business to Berlin with return in euro traveller only costing me £42 with 15,000 avios other option was Ryanair at just under £200 so no comparison
      BA won hands down particularly with time of flights and lounge access at LHR

    Am flying to Turkey next month in business class and from entering the plane to leaving it, it will probably be five hours minimum. For a business service, with the cost that entails, it's too long in what is, effectively, a standard seat...

    Looks pretty good service in lounge and on board but not as you say let down by the late departure and missed connection BA should deal with these situations more efficiently as it appears to happen quite often.
    I'm flying BA Club World to Berlin in a few weeks time.

    • @Travelsbydreamer
      @Travelsbydreamer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, lounge was nicely on point, service great onboard but the delays are getting increasingly tiresome.
      Wouldn’t recommend them at all for tight connections into Europe at the moment.

    I’m gold so there is literally only one reason to fly club Europe (longest flight being to Sharm…) is the unlimited booze for free or tier points / double tier points avios (Canary Islands). If you book emergency exit seats - not club Europe, but hey, people buy it. BA skim so much in some ways, but the lounges really are pretty good.

    • @Travelsbydreamer
      @Travelsbydreamer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah agree, when good I’d never have flown it tbh. European business class is ok a fairly sad state of affairs. But, if you have no status then I can see a few before especially of you get it on the cheap…

    Considering the extra cost over economy it’s pathetic that Business isn’t a separate cabin with larger seats and a 1-1 or 1-2 layout

    • @Travelsbydreamer
      @Travelsbydreamer  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I’m broadly with you, compared to the offering in much of the rest of the work, it’s a huge step down.
      They’d argue that it’s a different product at a different price point with typical upgrades into club Europe at around £100 each way. For that, you get an awful lot pre flight and loads of additional status earnings…

  • @journeyingjohn3275

    BA can be fine when nothing goes wrong but for as long as they refuse to fix their dated, insecure and unreliable IT, resource customer services on the ground and respond to claims and complaints is less than months, they remain overpriced for what they deliver and Best Avoided...
    A Madrid registered multinational, harvesting cash from inherited slot dominance and reputation. There are some superficial enhancements from 2020 (genuinely not the "enhancements" that involved slashing the service a few years ago) but the reality is that onboard in Europe, the lo costs deliver a similar service with more reliable infrastructure and flexibiltiy eg the Ryanair seat pitch is actually superior to BA's...

    If paying hard cash for a ticket - total rip off. If using Avios it's a reasonable experience, if only for the Check In, Fast track and lounge.

    • @Travelsbydreamer
      @Travelsbydreamer  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have to say, there’s been few times I’ve paid cash. Purely because, status grants those benefits you mentioned anyway. It can be useful for status earning if close to a target amount you need, especially in advance as can be sold relatively cheap upgrade wise. This indeed was part of a wider avios redemption 👍
