I remember sleeping with the Ultimate warrior and macho man under my pillow my dad wouldn’t buy me the Elizabeth doll and I remember staying at my grandparents and grandma told me to look behind the sofa and there was a bag with loose figures of miss Elizabeth Bobby Heenan and some others good times

Isn't it funny how these toys bring back memories. At 41 I finally got my hands on the ring again and that thing is huge and heavy. My mom carried it everywhere for me. These toys helped us have a good childhood.

I remember Christmas 1986 fondly. 2 months prior, I got started with the Remco AWA line. Then Christmas happened. Got the ring, Hogan, Piper, and Iron Sheik. After opening the 3 figures, I immediately stripped Hogan of the title and awarded it to Roddy Piper. Every New Years Eve when we would go to my aunt's, I had cards I would do for each set for the end of the year. Good times, great memories.

I still remember that rubber smell these things gave off when they were freshly opened. With all the craze of “retro” releases, I’m surprised Mattel hasn’t reissued these. Their current releases of the old Hasbro line were very well received.

As a kid I had the first couple of line ups when they came out. I remember always noticing the photos on the back card didn't always match up to what was sold. The back card showed Piper with the Panther Shirt and the Sheik's pants were much more detailed. I also remember using a red magic marker to create blood on the wrestlers faces. I wonder if anyone else ever did that as a kid. Since the figures were rubber the red marks would just wipe right off. Those figures were so simple yet so much fun.

Great memories. I’ve been watching some old WWE matches and it’s insane how much more into it the crowds were. Fans were still marks. No body cheered heels, no signs, and trash would fly into the ring when the heel was on top. It was weird to see cops at shows to, like it was possible fans would try to get at the heels.

thank you so much. great memories as a kid this was one of my passions. Also, the part where you bring up Randy Savage winning the ICC belt. I was at that match in the old Boston Garden with my Dad. Dad goodnaturedly tolerated my love for wrestling, himself only getting a laugh out of it and the joy of making me happy. Dad is gone now so is Randy and the old Boston Garden, but the memories will live in my heart forever. thank you for this awesome trip to my childhood.

JYD had the best "pose" of all the LJN figures. You could really pull off a power slam with him. Whereas Corporal Kirschner or Jesse the Body Ventura had horrible poses that you couldn't do anything with which is why they rarely got played with. I remember these were about $7.99 each.

Very enjoyable video. I'll never forget getting my first LJN. In second grade I had just started watching WWF and knew a few of the characters. A kid at school brought a JYD figure and I was immediately envious. I offered him the only currency I had back then, toads. Yup, toads that hop and eat bugs. I brought him a toad in my backpack and traded him for JYD. After that, I found additional figures under the Christmas tree or on birthdays and eventually had quite the line-up along with the ring as well. Along with my GI Joe figures, I spent a lot of time playing with these figures. Amazing toys and as you mentioned, nearly indestructible!

I bought the book based on that Wrestlemania cage match at a Book Fair in elementary school, and I only ever had one of those figures, specifically Jesse Ventura, and, of course, didn't have the ring. That was the reason I was so excited to be babysat by this one particular woman whose son had several of the figures and the ring.

Those were my world from 1986 until the Hasbro figures came out in the late 80s or early 90s. I had about 40 of the LJN rubber figures and about 50 of the Hasrbo ones with a few of the WCW figures that were about the same size. I remember going to Towers to look at toys and every LJN tag team set had the two belts missing because some kid had cut into the plastic and taken them. To be honest, that's what I was going to do, dammit!

Brings back a lot of childhood memories. No longer did I have to pretend with He-Man figures, (or worse, the WWF trading cards) I could wrestle with the real characters. I remember we had the AWA wrestling ring that was made for smaller He-man like figures. A friend ending up breaking it and his grandmom replaced it with the WWF ring. Good times.

Dude, u made my ass laugh so hard when you recreated the wrestling matches with your wrestling figures and you had to slam your hand three times in the middle of the Ring kids nowadays do not have much imagination to play with toys as we used to in the 80s we need to have an imagination to recreate matches with our toys or in my case I used to have GI Joes wrestle with silverhawks action figures cuz my parents couldn't afford wrestling action figures back then I definitely enjoyed your videos keep doing what you're doing this was awesome thanks for the memory

What a great video!! So nostalgic! My cousin had all of these while I had the bendies. If you remember those? I am grinning through this whole video

I love your references in this video ; Trust Jake the Snake is in the line and Humble Brian Blair, just to mention a few. Great videos.

5 years late to this video but it was so incredibly well done, great job. I would never have guessed the line was so big.

Man this video was awesome. I grew up with the hasbros but once picked up a Paul Ordorf on a car boot (like a swap meet) & discovered the LJN line. No idea they did so many. Love the Savage & Warrior 1. Grrat vid sir.

This was a great video! I gotta point out though, @4:35 instead of "solid steel" you definitely said "salad steel" and that gave me a damn good chuckle.

I had them all packaged as well which were later stolen from our basement along with a few BMX Bikes i lived in the slums of Jersey City NJ during the 80's & 90's Awesome memories 😂😂😂

Great video! Always wondered why LJN didn’t make a Mr. T. figure. Although I had the B.A. figure, which was pretty much to scale. 😉
A lot of the later lines never came to the toy stores in and around my small New England town. I’d have loved to get Jake “The Snake”, Bam Bam Bigelow and the One Man Gang!

man...crash bang wallop what a video! I had almost all of these, used to put them in a bag and pull them out at random for royal rumbles. Survivor series was awesome. Macho and Hogan traded the world title about 500 times.

I suspect they had plans to release a Demolition Smash figure too, but the mold was based on the original Smash (briefly portrayed by Moondog Rex and not Barry Darsow), so the figure was scrapped when Darsow was brought in as a replacement.

Could be. Or they wanted to release 1/2 of 3 tag teams in '89 and were going to release the other half the following year if the line had continued (Ax from Demolition, Haku from Islanders and Warlord from Powers of Pain).

I had Hogan, Piper, Sheik, Slaughter and Andre. Then from another line, the Road Warriors, Hawk and Animal. Boy, were those the days. I had a ring made of cardboard, pencils and twine, my brother, who gave me the figures, made a cage out of chicken wire.
I'd have Hogan, Piper and Andre as Faces and the rest were always Heels.
Then eventually, they all got hand-me- downed to my nephew and from there who knows. Kinda wish I had all that back now for my boys 😂

Yup. Adrian Adonis was my favorite. I loved his flamboyant heel turn. I had both his pink and purple variants. I do believe that the later release in 1989 was for his family. R.i.p Kieth Franke 😍😘
