I remember when this used to be the nice easy to follow East Vs West format where the breakaway competition put great players like Datsyuk against amazing goaltenders like Martin Brodeur for an epic battle of player vs goalie. Now it's just a dumb cheesey show to see who can create the most cringe
I agree but it's in vegas and they wanted to try something newer/bigger to get more revenue I'm sure. The players seem like they had fun so meh...its the All Star break let them let loose a bit we all need that every once and while.
Swing and a huge miss this year seriously.. the NHL is sooo thirsty and it’s embarrassing IMO. Derek Carr and Waller looked like they regretted being a part of this. Show the players talents PERIOD. On the ice!! Jesus what are we doing?
This competition is about creativity and having fun. The real skills is in other events. Notice all of the players laughing and having fun with it. This is a much for them as it is for us.

Always knew these things were a joke. This confirmed it. I got no problems with the NHL wanting to get the youth of our world into the sport but do it outside of the actual pro activities so that it doesn't turn into a lame joke like this.
