Christian Borle, Andrew Rannells, and More on Bringing Falsettos Back to Broadway

With great musicals come great responsibility, and the new Broadway cast of William Finn and James Lapine's Falsettos isn't taking their work lightly. Decades ago, when the show was just a pair of one-act musicals (1981's March of the Falsettos and 1990's Falsettoland), leading man Michael Rupert discovered the importance of this piece. Now, Christian Borle, Andrew Rannells, Stephanie J. Block, Brandon Uranowitz, and others are discovering the show's weight firsthand. After the curtain came down on their opening-night performance, the stars talked to TheaterMania about the impact of love and how it relates to the show's legendary reputation.

Why did the revival close? I just started listening to falsettos and I was just curious

It didn't close, it was on a limited run. Basically, all the dates were pre-planned and it was going to end when it did. However, due to the unexpected popularity, it's touring the US in 2019
