- In this video, we examine how the forces of the Enlightenment caused the New Imperialism of the 19th century. This video continues our study of how the Enlightenment caused the First World War.
>Hates Imperialism.
>Excitedly states that Spain had the biggest Empire
@damienpace7350 I'm not against imperialism in principle. Most people throughout (recorded) human history have lived as peaceable within empires, if not moreso, than they would have within a nation state or tribal society.
banking caused imperialism
Yup.
(((banking)))
This is very interesting! Looking forward for more! Subscribed from the Philippines!

Do you have any plans on making videos on Banks/Merchants starting from Renaissance Italy, the duo of Banks/Merchants and their greed have what destroyed christendom in the West...and still they are no where near of being stopped in the greed and exploitation
23:17 Was Canada on the list at the bottom? I could not see it, but it was definitely part of the British Empire - one of the bigger pink pieces as we used to say. At that time pink had nothing to do with the GLBT+++ grouping. It meant part of the British Empire on the map at the front of every class.
@stephanottawa7890 that was an oversight, thank you for bringing that up.
these are wonderful, any source material you’d recommend or that was influential on these videos? super excited for the next part!
Thanks! Most of the arguments you see here are my own arguments based on easily accessible historical information. If I do reference arguments made by other historians, I do cite them more clearly, unless I'm referencing a common position held by mainstream historians.

8:34 Very convenient to leave out WHY rationalism became favored over Christianity in the intellectual class
Daniel, can you please recommend some good historical books and authors on this topic?
Great serie, I enjoyed very much. Greetings from Brazil
Sumarian writings say kingship came from above. Also Christianity is imperialistic. KING of Kings, and LORD of Lords.
Correct, I can give more proof of you'd like to look it up; the 1962 multicoloured topographic map of Ireland, looking at the map like it's a portrait, there's a "Pig King" wearing a purple robe holding the Holy Grail. The Grail is a gold skull inscribed ESAU and there's a "bloodline" flowing from west Ireland, the blood line is inscribed SANCTA JC but can be flipped upside down and reads IAWHOVA.
Let's not forget that in the Old Imperialism, the Spanish used the playbook of the Inquisition to the Natives in their colonies in Latin America and The Philippines like they did to the Muslims and the Jews in Spain as well as Friar Diego de Landa who burned almost all the Ancient Mayan writings because he thought that it was the work of the devil.
This sentence is awfully long and loses its meaning halfway through.
@@emirobinatoru Must be a Catholic loving denier freak huh? Or must be a Castilian Catholic denying freak huh?
Why must it be that way? Perhaps you see it that way. @@emirobinatoru
If the Spanish hadn't driven out the Moslems and the Jews would they have a home? Liberalism is anathema for sure, but you can't live under either of those groups. Look at what endless financialism is doing to the west in our current moment.
I'll be the first to admit that the Hidalgos weren't the best foot to put forward, but human sacrifice? Cannibalism (even if limited to their religious practice)? OK the Inca weren't cannibalistic but child sacrifice?
I studied the historical and anthropological dimensions of the matter in school and yes, judging the past from our vantage point blah blah blah.
Tweed jacket types dislike hierarchy because it's not for everybody. They prefer an egalitarian, enlightened system. They simply don't understand defending a positive good. Man acts. It's part of the definition. It may not be a picnic, it may be mistake laden but act we must. Conscience, right and wrong.. that's what the holy church is for. Idk. Is what it is at the end of the day.
Your repeating fables, its called the black legend 😂. History and facts disprove your statement. The Spanish saved the indians and banned slavery in 1540. You could go to San Diego Ca and visit the museums where they have memorials to the priests that gave their lives to civilize the indians...
Interesting.
This is an interesting take, but it is also very naive and simplistic.
No it’s not. He said it throughly and brought evidence to support his intricate analysis. You’re ignorant and naive based on your answer. If he’s oversimplifying, then debunk him
Even then, the Conquistadors ran amuck cause Emperor Charles V was too busy with Martin Luther and the start of the Reformation, France being France, and the Muslim Turkish incursions
Excellent stuff. Thank you
It is interesting that Lenin kind of thought the same thing. 😅 I am a socialist with faith, so listening to other views are often interesting. I sometimes prefer conservatives from liberals for many reasons, the liberalism destroying comunities being one of them.
My friend, don’t be a Marxist international socialist. Be instead a true socialist. The word socialist has been stolen by the communists. There’s in reality nothing wrong with socialism, instead it’s a natural thing to have in a good society. True socialism is not against property or against the individual. Our eternal glorious leader explained it very well, if you want to learn more about it go looking for him. ❤
How can you be an enemy of God, but have Faith at the same time?
@@fare4900socialism aligns more with our Faith than capitalism, socialism is literally providing the working class with a say in life, that they are looked after and have financial independence and resources.
@@myristicina. Capitalism is an expression of free will. The free market, meaning everybody involved through selling and buying, supply and demand, regulate the prices, whats traded etc.
Socialism is taking what everybody has and does and forcing everybody to do what a handful of people at the top say, making it TOTALITARIAN and OPPRESSIVE by default.
Like we had in Germany: National-SOCIALISM (based on race)or in Russia: Communism (marxist-socialism, based on class). Or fascism in Italy being another form of socialism (based on the nation, unlike in Germany).
Socialism and its derivatives caused a worldwar and the death of over 100 million people. Socialism literally created hell on earth in the 20th century, making it the most deadly ideology in history.
Our Lord's teaching "You shall know them by their fruit" reaches a whole new level.
Talk to people from Venezuela.. they still suffer under a socialist regime.
Don't fall for the leftists fake compassion. Pushing people to commit sin, like the whole LGBTQ movement e.g. is doing considering the 6th commandment.
Don't forget... Hitler WAS a socialist! He was elected TWICE into the social-democratic run Bavarian SOWJET Republic.
Read stuff like "The Cause of Hitler's Germany" by Leonard Peikoff.
Or here on TH-cam: "The Best 30-Minute Explanation of Marxism I Have Ever Heard"
God is good. We're not protestants. But catholics like Ignatius of Antioch.
Socialism is a wolf in sheeps clothing, the devil in disguise, an oppresive and demonic RELIGION tricking people into thinking it's a "movement" for the wellbeing and freedom of the people. But it's not...
@@fare4900socialism is the political version of the Christ's ethics. Protecting and valueing poor people's lifes is our main objectives. Christian philosy is made real by socialist politics!
How is this bad ? This is pretty much based look at that map if i was a european i would be hella proud 😮
Liberalism led to Enlightenment. What kind of crap is this?
Enlighenment lead to the most brutal colonial exploitation on human history, we still live under the effects of such eurocentric ideology.
Oh gosh, soooo many wars and changing borders/ownership it's hard to imagine just how busy it was.
Are there any decent animated world maps showing the wars and how things were changing over these years? I'd like to see all the changes at the same time rather than as separate distinct wars.
@OrwellsHousecat there are some great animated maps, but they don't list the wars causing the border changes unfortunately. th-cam.com/video/UY9P0QSxlnI/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
@@historiaecclesiastica thanks man!
Nice
Good video but fails to show how liberalism has caused neo-colonialism.
I can’t believe i had to watch this bullshit
Pretty sure imperialism predates liberalism by thousands of years.
Liberalism brought it back along with the decadence of ancient empires
Modern Imperialism is about controling profits and marjet shares, and getting new resorces and people to labor, so big banks and corporations can continue their endless growth. This has very much to do with liberalism.
@@palsyr4307 you can’t bring something back that never left
@@marcusappelberg369 that had everything to do with classic imperialism. The corporation aspect is a lil newer via joint stock companies, but even that goes back to a time when liberalism was not yet in ascendancy.
@@Cotswolds1913 true, true 👍
hmm thats quite the strech were the Israelites not imperial?
Everybody was Imperial except for your favorite group.
Nah. They didn’t try to extend their land or influence by invading surrounding nations after inheriting the promised land iirc. Unlike an England in the modern day or the kingdom of Assyria in the time of the Israelites
Psalm 83
God commanded them to conquer the promised land and then spiritually through the Church. They failed, but the Church will not.
