As a mother of a young daughter this scenario is one of my worst nightmares. It angers me to think of all the years he went on living his life, possibly preying on others, while her family suffered without their daughter or justice. Thank goodness for the preserved evidence and modern forensics to bring this monster to justice. My heart goes out to her and her family. May they find peace. 🙏Thank you Harmin.

Her mystery was solved, abducted and murdered, 93 the year, she was home alone, mother contacted police, found in a ravine, tragic event, my condolences to her family, alan was the culprit, there must have been a struggle, a cigarette was used as evidence, DNA at the crime scene, melissas journal also reveals the culprit, wasn't fit to stand trial, sent to a mental asylum,footage also shows the cemetery, crime scene and her home🚩✅
I could tell from the picture that something was seriously wrong with this guy. His eyes said everything. RIP Melissa. I'm sorry it took so long to find her killer, but I am glad he's put away. Lord know what else he's done since he killed her.
I wouldn’t meet any woman either like that I would atleast meet someone in a very public place and meet them in a public place around 3 times before doing anything private.
I don’t know if you watch ID channel but they showed a true story that happened here where I live, San Jacinto, CA. They named it “The Honey Pot”, or similar to that! A young up & rising champion Boxer had met a girl online years ago. She was pretty, seemed fun, intelligent, nice figure, and they talked several times both on the net & phone. This was back in the late 90’s or early 2000’s when FaceTime.& most social media was just developing. She did have cute pics online, thinking it was MySpace era! You can Google it & find out EXACTLY when it happened, but they mutually agreed to meet, face to face, as they wanted to explore the possibility of maybe a future as they were both ambitious, career oriented & both were excited as the mutual day/time/place was agreed upon. They decided to meet at a public park, both had their own vehicles, traded descriptions of their vehicles, and it happened to be early evening but when activity had lessened, so they could just talk alone, see how it went, and if it all went as planned, neither having SET expectations, they would set another “date night”, maybe dinner, movies, something alone but more intimate so they could explore the “possibility”, of a commitment or decide maybe they needed more time to develop the friendship, and decide from there. This young boxer had spent most of his teen years practicing/getting in shape, training every night as he knew he had to do what it took to be a champ & that was his life’s dream. However, he also felt it was time to explore a girlfriend, maybe a family, as he felt alone & something missing! He had spent most of the day, on the first meeting night, trying to look his best, have his car immaculate, be alert, not tired out, and with such warm conversations, he was extremely hopeful, full of excitement. He was still living at home, his dad turned the garage into a small boxing center where the neighbor kids could also practice & he was there actively “coaching” them, as he had time! His brother asked him why he was so excited so he confided in him about the first time meeting, scheduled for later that night. Internet Dating was new, not many horror stories, etc! He didn’t want anyone else to know about this meeting as if it didn’t work out, he didn’t want anyone saying “I told you so!” Maybe relate their fears to him, not knowing how many times they had exchanged calls, emails, pics, etc! But he DID tell his younger brother. So off he went driving to the park, smiling, heart pounding, anxious! He parked under a light, not hidden in a dark area, on the street people drove by heading into/out of the park. It was very empty, as expected, and it was just a meeting with no expectations! He sat, and sat, and sat, patiently waiting, getting more anxious, a little worry growing, but no guy feared meeting a girl! Especially since he was so fit, larger than her, and she wasn’t worried either, so he was hoping she wasn’t in an accident, laying somewhere off the road, maybe hasn’t been discovered! He decided to wait 15 more minutes & go on home, talk to her later, and give her a chance to explain what happened. Suddenly a man approached, came to the drivers window, leaned in and double checked that it was the guy he said his “sister” was supposed to meet! She wanted him to ensure he was legitimate & everything safe for her to come to the car! So the young boxer brought out his ID, introduced himself, and asked to see the “brothers” ID ALSO! The brother reached into his pocket, for his wallet, leaning inside the drivers side window, reaching back. and came out with a loaded gun, and shot the young boxer DEAD! He was still slumped in the seat of his immaculate car, when his brother & the police met their when he never came home! The young boxer was set up to be robbed, there was no girl, only a friend of the robber posing as this young beautiful girl who wanted to meet him! They DID find the perps, court ended, and I can’t recall their sentences but they had done the same scam many times before, robbed, but no one shot, killed but when criminals get away w/no consequences over & over, they get bolder & usually does eventually kill! This poor young boxer was murdered just trying to innocently ease his loneliness, and he completely trusted this girl. When someone said not to trust girls either, it reminded me of this murder! Such a tragedy!
Her mother should have been at home, I realize that a 15 y.o should be OK by themselves, but I know her poor mother wishes she could do it over. A parent is not suppose to outlive their children, the worse thing in the world is to lose a child, speaking from experience here.

He can still hurt people in western state hospital. There are some gentle mental illness people that get attacked by the mean ones all the time in that hell hole!

Just awful what happened. Its good that you made the point that she met him via phone chats. I remembered this format began in the 80s with the party lines but it was still being used throughout the 90s. I used the phone chat room once for 15 minutes in the 80's. I listened in on a group of teens just talking over each other about random things & that was the last time I used the service. They were expensive to use. Back then there wasn't a lot of warnings on the dangers with party lines in the 90's. There were late night commercials promoting the use of this "dating service". The danger began early on before technology took off on what it is today. Now the internet & social media are dangerous with meeting others. Have you noticed the commercials for dating sites have decreased currently?

How sad, but at 15 girl's are so naive and so quick to wanting to become a woman. My daughter was sneaking out at 15 with and older boy, long story short she's 21, married to this jerk, has a 5 month and in the Air Force and he won't let her talk to me or see my granddaughter.

All too often it's family members or a victim advocate who lights a fire under them to go back and look at these cases. A lot of these detectives are just plain lazy. A big city I could maybe understand due to the high volume of cases.

Harmin, first of all, your offering condolences to her family is so sweet. It’s hard to believe the authorities had this guy and didn’t double down on him - surely he would have broken, given his declared mental state, if they had just stayed at him for hours and hours. They surely knew a man that old would be interested in a young girl for only one reason. They knew he was up to no good. They had to know.

How sad, but at 15 girl's are so naive and so quick to wanting to become a woman. My daughter was sneaking out at 15 with and older boy, long story short she's 21, married to this jerk, has a 5 month and in the Air Force and he won't let her talk to me or see my granddaughter.

Why did it take so long to process the DNA and arrest him.Detective incompetence.
All too often it's family members or a victim advocate who lights a fire under them to go back and look at these cases. A lot of these detectives are just plain lazy. A big city I could maybe understand due to the high volume of cases.

Unfortunate....even if it did finally take that long to apprehend this monster,at least they got him..puts some closure to the case and family ....its a dangerous world out there ,but we just got to be safe and always vigilant..be safe every one and God bless the families affected by this atrocity...thanks for the post ,Mr Harmin...your presentation is respectfully done and I'm sure you will build a big following because these kind of stories may need to be revealed not just to pay respects to victims involved but to keep us aware.thank you.

Harmin, first of all, your offering condolences to her family is so sweet. It’s hard to believe the authorities had this guy and didn’t double down on him - surely he would have broken, given his declared mental state, if they had just stayed at him for hours and hours. They surely knew a man that old would be interested in a young girl for only one reason. They knew he was up to no good. They had to know.
