hey Mukluk, was just curious if any other updates should be needed for this build? Just getting back into the game and decided to use a boost on a necro. Just unlocked reaper, and stumbled across this build video while looking for a reaper build that uses GS.
ALSO if I may suggest to the aspiring Reapers: get in the habit of pressing shroud 3+4 at the same time as: shroud 3 gives you stability and so your spin won’t be interrupted the first time you get CCed. Shroud 3 has no cast time so just press it together with shroud 4
@@yorshka6955 when you press shroud 3 the first time it has no casting time - activating it again makes it explode causing fear. That does have a cast time and WILL interrupt your spin. I usually go 3 then 4 so the armour is definitely up before I start spinning.
@@yorshka6955 so shroud 3 - Infusing Terror - gives you 3 stability and 20% damage and Condi damage reduction. Activating it again to use Terrify causes a 1 sec Fear in people around you. It is not a combo finisher. Shroud 5 Executioner’s Scythe leaves an Ice combo. If you Shroud 4 (Spin2Win) in that combo field you’ll fire off chilling bolts. Practically you have 2 ways to use this info: 5 >3+4 to fire off bolts OR 3+4 wait for the enemy to drop below 50% then 5 for big damage. Detonating 3 in 5’s combo field does nothing. Usually I either let 3 run out or try to detonate right at it’s end for CC. Hope this helps demystify Reaper shroud a bit :)
While it isn’t mentioned in this guide, as it is probably beyond the scope of what Muk is trying to achieve, it is worth noting that Reapers have super simple self reliant skill combinations (combos) that only require 3 different buttons - all of which are during shroud. For example, using shroud 5 (Executioner’s Scythe) before using shroud 4 (Soul Spiral) will create Chilling Bolts which will apply chill to all targets in shroud 4’s range. When combined with the trait that deals additional damage to enemies that are chilled, shroud 4 gains a significant boost in damage - even against single targets. Additionally, using shroud 2 (Death’s Charge) immediately after shroud 4 ends will create ANOTHER combo called Frost Aura, which will chill anything that hits you while also decreasing incoming damage by 10%. In short: don’t sleep on shroud 5 > 4 > 2 or even just 5 > 4. Makes a world of difference.
Thank you for this Muk! Playing with bad arthritis in my hands, it's hard to work most builds but since this came out I've noticed a big damage increase and it's easier on my hands!
Honestly, I feel like Reaper is one of the best designed specs and I wish they'd boost damage like 5% or so in PvE just so I could justify playing it over other necro specs. So many things are pushing 38-40k, giving them a TINY bit more wouldn't hurt. Great build!
@Black March I mean, I love the sentiment, but that's just false. The only time a reaper tops dps is when the target has less health than a reaper's burst.
@Black March the reason they top dps on ca and kc is because they can capitalize on the burst phases with lich form... even if u do the benchmark rotation in a real fight a condi mechanist autoattacking will end up doing more damage in most fights. You might be looking at cleave dps too which is worth nothing compared to target damage.
Please continue making these videos and not just 1 per class but 1 per specialization. I know it will take time. But the flexibility would be awesome. Thank you for your great work!
I'm not sure there are decent ones for each specialization. Druid for example. But dps-wise it's probably possible to find a build that does 20k+ dps without much effort for most of them.
@@cristianzirbau6872 I'm not sure if that's really possible. For constant pressure like arena ticks maybe but for countering burst or helping teammates out of position?
some specializations just don't work well with a LI setup, I'll be very curious to see what the LI elementalist build is cause ele is about like playing a piano and even the simplest build I've ever used, Fresh Air Tempest, is still pressing a lot of buttons.

I realy like the Signet Build - have been running it for a while - its realy chill to run for open world, altho i do prefer having a GS + Axe/Warhorn. GS is great with the aoe blind against groups of enemies, i also took well of darkness for that reason. And Axe gives one a Ranged option for when its needed or more convinient. of course at that point its no longer as low action per minute as the build shown.
In addiction you can also use Valks gear instead of Zerker if you are having survival problems since you get a lot of your crit chance from Death Perception.
@@DEML91 I play with full valk gear because the shroud scales with your vitality and it gives way more survivalbility more time to make damage and because the are no real healer in open world content.
I do always like the chance to use the signets more. Will give it a shot some time later for sure ^w^! If you want, you can make a similar minion build with reaper too. You dont need to change anything from armor too. All you need is the skills and talents. From skills, you go full pets to all slots, but one that you use the shout "rise" which does damage and summon more pets. (personal choices for skills blood fiend, bone minions, shadow fiend, "rise" (reaper skill) and flesh golem) From talents you go: - death magic, with full 1st options -blood magic, with full 3rd options -reaper, with options to 2nd, 1st and 3rd options. The death magic, keeps you endlessly with higher toughness, making you a tank, and the reaper and blood talents, always end up healing you from what you have lost, and each time you defeat a foe, you end up summoning a temp bone minion, that gives you more defence for as long as its up, and once it is time over, it leaves a small poison area for a while. This applys for all the summons you get from the "rise" skill too. A small change you can do, if you wish to try and do more damage, you can use the reapers 2nd talent from the second line of its traits, to end up gain might each time you hit chilled foes. Greatsword 5, focus 5, and staff 3 are good options for this, and/or also to just swamp the "rise" with "suffer" skill that gives the chill debuff too, or you can simple use the reaper's rune on your armor, instead of eagle's, that make all your shout skills add the chill effect. Extra part, if you want to go full tank mode, then i suggest for armor to go for trailblazer, and for runes either reaper, or undead. The undead runes will turn your condition damage to more defense, making you a moving fortress a bit/ do suggest the wand, or staff for a build like that though. Well i do hope this gave you a couple more ideas for small easy fun builds for reaper ;3. Regardless of which hope you all have a lot of fun with the class. Ooh, and ofcourse, before i even forget, i want to point out this small video too, as its the source i got on how to build my reaper. th-cam.com/video/fr3wKK-xPSo/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=IanBoswell
Also, by detonating a bone minion, you have an on-demand Blast Finisher. Two minions summoned for one skill slot pays off well (see below for Flesh of the Master in Death Magic). Since Bone Minions are also easily destroyed via Putrid Explosion, sometimes I will use only them and/or Rise! so that I don't have stray minions going all wild hair and keeping me in combat for far too long. Death Magic -> Flesh of the Master gives a TON of carapace if you hit Rise! in a fight with several mobs and the trait makes your other minions much, much stronger.
I was going to sing "Don't Fear the Reaper", but after 3:57 I think I'll sing "Spin Me Right Round (Like a Record)" instead. Thank you oh Mighty Master Mukluk for these LI Builds. They are fun and I eagerly await when you shall bless us with more. PRAISE MUKLUK!
I went through your low intensity build guides today and I just wanted to say thanks! One thing I noticed when watching this one is that none of them seem to have a stun break lol, I can’t be expected to dodge mechanics while I’m watching Netflix so I gotta have something to break out of that shit when I inevitably get stuck in it 🤣.
I typically think of stun breaks as more of a "pvp thing" that is rarely needed in pve. THAT SAID if you do need it feel free to swap out a skill fo rit.

@MuklukTH-cam ... well, looks like some of this LI builds got hit hard by the latest balance patch. I liked this build a lot and used it for group content. Yesterday i made a quick test at the Training Area Golem ... looks like dps has dropped by 20% for full boon / full status on golem and by 30% for solo mode (no modifiers for self/golem). ... i think this comes from the change to "Death Perception" - Was 33% Crit chance increase in shroud, +300 ferocity while in shroud.
I've used the exact same build before except with Fear of Death instead of Soul Barbs. It gives you so much extra life force and with some other dying mobs around you in PVE you can basically permanently stay in shroud at the 30k dps mark.
Muk, blasting Shroud 3 also generates a shit ton of lifeforce and does damage too. So it might be a good idea to throw that into the rotation as well, whenever it is off cooldown.
@MuklukTH-cam you forgot to mention that shroud 1 ALSO reduces cooldown on weapon skills because of the quickness trait, making your shroud 4 come back faster, it doesn't change much BUT its nice to know that this is a thing
Hey Muk, Not sure if it is already mentioned, but do you guys also plan to work on support/heal roles with low intensity? What comes to mind is renegade pressing F4 for full alac uptime and mechanistic auto attacking for the same but maybe there are others that can provide support roles to people that don't yet try them
@@MuklukTH-cam I agree with Pekay, I think my Mech Alac, is 3 button (1,2, F3), 5 if you want Protection (4,5 Shield off cooldown). Then everything else is conditional. Barrier Signet if you want to give your team time to heal up, Med Kit (2,3,4,5) if you want a burst heal, F2 If you want Aegis or Stab. CC as needed. But I feel 95% of the time is really auto-attack and use a couple of abilities off cooldown.
did you try using dragons prefix gear? it hes the best crit damage of any gear, you can use reaper's trait Decimate Defenses to cap crit chance. Dragons higher vitality increases shroud generation also makes you safer
Could you theoretically keep your shroud up longer swapping spite 2-1 to spite 2-3 allowing your shroud 3 to give a beefy Life Force 'healing potion' while in shroud? This still keeps with the original theme of being LI it's 1 extra button.
I feel like in practice the dagger version might end up doing more damage since taking damage in shroud drains life force and the dagger fills that back up faster.
Do you have a pure pet build where you have each of the pets out to do good dmg? I've enjoyed classes that have pets. I've enjoyed Diablo 2's Necromancer and Druid for their summon-pets. On World of Warcraft, I enjoyed the Hunter class because of their pets. I was wondering if there's a necromancer pet build in this game.
late answer lol, but no. you can not ''level'' with reaper as you need to be level 80 to even get it. but you can always get to level 80 really fast, get enough HP and then play through the story and ealy game that way, but again u need to be level 80
i've never used arcdps but i'm pretty sure your low intensity build does more damage then me being a necro main and trying my best... i'm a lost cause 😭i'm really bad at this fighting thing no matter how much i try and research into it. also, Noxxi bringuing Zojja from the dead in the end xD
benchmarks are ideal conditions. You will do less damage in reality due to dodging attacks, dealing with mechanics, and another big one, losing your life force because you get slapped by a random mob.
Another great guide. Although I have to say as a healer necros are quite annoying as you sometimes look at what looks like their health plummeting only to realise that it was just the shroud again. I think Axe is another great option instead of Dagger because of the range. Are the shouts worth taking? I mean they are the Reapers added skills after all.
Most shouts are rather bad in higher play. The healing one is OK but since you take the signet trait the signet heal is better. You can cast it before going into shroud and regain it in shroud. It will also be of cool down when you leave because of the faster CD in shroud. The elite is good but golem is better unless you don't want the minion I. E. In open world. Rise is interesting for shaking agro and taking less dmg if you are solo. All other shouts are quite unremarkable and wells do their job better. Boonrip, stunbreak, condi cleanse. Aoe blind.
@@beneteus3833 Makes sense. I took a few shouts for my Reaper because they get some bonuses with traits but might not have been the best choice. I currrently only used that character to finish EoD so I wasn't under too much pressure.
@@kaltaron1284 i would like for shouts to be better at least in PvE, but at least in group play you want the ice nova trait since it does a lot more dmg then the shout CD reduction trait. the shouts "You are weaklings", "suffer" and "nothing can save you" are themactily cool and have some usefull efects, but those effects can be also found on other utility skills, and for should to be realy effective you need 5 enemies. Suffer is a good example of that, that shout does nothing without enemies around, not even a single condi cleanse. So the only 3 shouts that i use on some of my off meta reapers are Your Soul is mine (gaining lifeforce and it has a real low CD), Rise (Transfering DMG to the minions, shedding agro, gaining lifeforce when the minions die) and Chilled to the Bone (better aoe CC then Fleshgolem, gives Stability) instead of Suffer i would always use Well of Power/Spectral Walk, both are condi cleans but also stunbreaks. instead of Nothing can Save you i would use Well of Corruption, since it corrupts in 5 pulses and instead of You are all weakling i would use spectral walk / spectral amor as a stunbreak, unless you realy want the weakness application.
oh and if you are solo and realy feel like you need more sustain, at that point i would take the blood traitline over spite (altho you loose migth that way) Adatpt Tier: Ritual of Life (Res power, can also be useful to res npcs) or Quickening Thirst (movement speed and if you use dagger shorter CD) [With Ritual of Life i would go for Well of Blood as healing skill] Master Tier: Vampire Presence (lifesteal) Grandmaster: Unholy Martyr (Condi Cleanse and lifeforce) or for groups transfusion on shroud 4 (teleport downs and heal)
The funny thing is this is very close to the max damage power reaper build so if you play this one and like it your like 80% there to the full build. I alway love getting reapers in fractals because at least there dmg is reliable for all fractals except 100 where you will take a dip in dps from all the moving.
This isn't a million miles away from the Reaper build I use. Most of the changes are on the right side. I'm just sad that Shroud 2 & 4 which I relied on for much of my DPS seem to be doing way less since the last patch. I was used to seeing 70 & 80K hits, now down to 40 & 50K :(
Hello fellow Guardian! For me, I use Celestial Firebrand. Essentially, Celestial everything with Superior Rune of Balthazar. Axe/Scepter with Torch. And for the utility skills, all mantras and I hotkey them so I can press them all simultaneously. I'm looking forward to whichever Guardian build Mukluk has in store for us. 😊
@@johnpratts2856 Yeah I use the same setup basically but often I feel like I need to press like 30 button in 10 seconds to do something. It would be nice to do decent damage with low effort just to netflix and chill
I keep reading about the downfall of Reaper, and at the same time that it is the king of open world form posts or vids that are not that old. What is the actual state of open world reaper right now ?
I’m a huge fan of power reaper in open world. The self buff/vuln application can’t be understated for that game mode and the biggest pro is a quick cleave burst to take out packs of mobs. The con is that if you intend to take out a harder champion solo you will run out of steam pretty fast and end up dead where stuff like condi virtuoso will just keep going.
I have a dumb question. How do you survive on a build like this? Especially a DPS Melee build. I always play range because I can at least stay away as much as possible. Whenever I try a melee build I have trouble surviving (I stay out of red telegrams, but not all attacks have them). I am probably just crap at this. Can these be used solo? I can see using something like this when I am in strikes or where there are lots of stacking.
If you doubt you can survive a fight, one of the easiest things to do is to send your minions in first. They are very efficient at holding aggro and will let you step away if you need to. Even just two minions is a big tank benefit. Also, the Rise! skill summons minions (1 for the skill and 1 additional per foe it strikes) for a lot more tankiness inherently but also the skill reduces incoming dmg by 33% for 25 seconds on a 40 second cooldown. Strong defensive value when you have to see to your own defense.
Yeah, GW2 isn't really a game (for me) that I can play and do something else at the same time. OSRS, though, you can definitely multitask just based on how the game is designed.

So the only reason Zojja hasn’t appeared in god knows how many years is because no reaper used signet of undeath on her?
Yes, we appreciate the stat set, but I'm not giving away my HP on her
That and Felicia Day probably no longer has interest in playing her character. 😋
@MuklukTH-cam you forgot to mention that shroud 1 ALSO reduces cooldown on weapon skills because of the quickness trait, making your shroud 4 come back faster, it doesn't change much BUT its nice to know that this is a thing
If I wanted slightly more survivability with this build, what options do I have?
Thank you for this build.
Wow, Zojja is alive, nice xD
love love love this. What skin are you using on the hands? They look awesome in reaper form
Great fashion! What are the pieces?
Hey Muk,
Not sure if it is already mentioned, but do you guys also plan to work on support/heal roles with low intensity?
What comes to mind is renegade pressing F4 for full alac uptime and mechanistic auto attacking for the same but maybe there are others that can provide support roles to people that don't yet try them
showcasing those builds is super nice for getting people into raids/strikes, Do you have any plans for similar support builds?
IF it is possible I'd like to do as many builds as I can. Supports definitely are a tougher puzzle on "how to LI" than dps though.
@@MuklukTH-cam true, but I'm thinking something like Alacrity Mechanist could probably be simplified enough to count as LI
Reaper AMAZING.
did you try using dragons prefix gear? it hes the best crit damage of any gear, you can use reaper's trait Decimate Defenses to cap crit chance. Dragons higher vitality increases shroud generation also makes you safer
Cool, would maurauder be good also ... more vitality, more lifeforce ... ?
Reaper w/o greatsword is a fashion crime.
What's a good video for someone returning to the game after quitting around HoT?
I helped in chat with this one woo!
I play a salad reaper and I approve of this.
can you level as this build or do i need to level differently?
late answer lol, but no. you can not ''level'' with reaper as you need to be level 80 to even get it. but you can always get to level 80 really fast, get enough HP and then play through the story and ealy game that way, but again u need to be level 80
i've never used arcdps but i'm pretty sure your low intensity build does more damage then me being a necro main and trying my best... i'm a lost cause 😭i'm really bad at this fighting thing no matter how much i try and research into it.
also, Noxxi bringuing Zojja from the dead in the end xD
benchmarks are ideal conditions. You will do less damage in reality due to dodging attacks, dealing with mechanics, and another big one, losing your life force because you get slapped by a random mob.
Thank you for this video. However, i don't know how you guys get 30k :(((. I get up to 13-14k max without boons and 17-18k with boons. How come ?
I love facerolling my keyboard playing scourge but this is a nice option (?
my 4 year old necro thanks you!!
One other thing: swap to greatsword just before entering shroud for more damage because shroud skills us the stats of your mainhand weapon only.
Is there any way to update this? =(
is this build works also for pvp?
So the only 3 shouts that i use on some of my off meta reapers are Your Soul is mine (gaining lifeforce and it has a real low CD), Rise (Transfering DMG to the minions, shedding agro, gaining lifeforce when the minions die) and Chilled to the Bone (better aoe CC then Fleshgolem, gives Stability)
instead of Suffer i would always use Well of Power/Spectral Walk, both are condi cleans but also stunbreaks.
instead of Nothing can Save you i would use Well of Corruption, since it corrupts in 5 pulses
and instead of You are all weakling i would use spectral walk / spectral amor as a stunbreak, unless you realy want the weakness application.
oh and if you are solo and realy feel like you need more sustain, at that point i would take the blood traitline over spite (altho you loose migth that way)
Adatpt Tier: Ritual of Life (Res power, can also be useful to res npcs) or Quickening Thirst (movement speed and if you use dagger shorter CD) [With Ritual of Life i would go for Well of Blood as healing skill]
Master Tier: Vampire Presence (lifesteal)
Grandmaster: Unholy Martyr (Condi Cleanse and lifeforce) or for groups transfusion on shroud 4 (teleport downs and heal)
Im waiting for the warrior one still. The best class. 😁
The funny thing is this is very close to the max damage power reaper build so if you play this one and like it your like 80% there to the full build. I alway love getting reapers in fractals because at least there dmg is reliable for all fractals except 100 where you will take a dip in dps from all the moving.
Appreciate all of these thank you again. Guardian?
6:25: Oh no, you (/Noxxi) didn't !
The shroud duration would be lower in practice due to damage eating away life force, but still good
Noob question, why Rune of the Eagle instead of Rune of the Centaur?
What's the rune of choice now after relics have been released?
Probably still eagle or possibly scholar.
@@MuklukTH-cam ty for the prompt reply 🤠
This isn't a million miles away from the Reaper build I use. Most of the changes are on the right side.
I'm just sad that Shroud 2 & 4 which I relied on for much of my DPS seem to be doing way less since the last patch. I was used to seeing 70 & 80K hits, now down to 40 & 50K :(
Zerker stats on accessories as well, right?
Yep, these results were with full zerker
Reaper main, for the longest time I struggled getting 21k XD
Hey Mukluk, another awesome build! Is anything similar possible with Guardian?
Define similar.
Low intensity, self sufficiency, power damage or multiple of these?
I believe so yes, am researching other classes, give me some time 👍
Hello fellow Guardian!
@@janyaghob4337
TH-cam deletes my comment when I try to post the build link, so I'll just describe it:
Sword/Torch (Smoldering and Bursting sigils), Flame Legion runes.
All gear Grieving stats, except for Viper Helmet, 1x Accessory and Amulet.
Radiance 2/2/1
Virtues 3/1/1
Willbender 1/2/2
Important Utility Skills: Purging Flames, Signet of Wrath
1 button: 17k (F1)
2 buttons: 22k (+ Torch 4)
5 buttons: 28k (+ Sword 2, Torch 5, Purging Flames)
5 buttons solo: 14k
Is this build the best overall for solo open world LI play?
It has possibly the highest damage potential due to the self might/quickness/vulnerability if don't have issues surviving.
@@MuklukTH-cam does it hit harder than the single clicking explosions mechanist?
What's the infusion combo PLEASE :o
Also, tysm for the guide ^^
Power. All power.
@@snakeman830 no, no, I meant the aesthetic ones xD
No astetics infusion
^ yep, it's just the Reaper Shroud effect
Oh I was recording in reaper shroud (I had to film it in lots of small windows lol)
what infusion or tonic is that in the intro?
That's reaper shroud
Can you also do one for Harbinger? ^^
I will try to do one for as many classes as I can find LI builds for, harbinger included 👍
@@MuklukTH-cam ty spooky muk!!
Nice one
Does this work for Open World??
Yes, very well actually because it is supplies all the most important boons and conditions itself.
I keep reading about the downfall of Reaper, and at the same time that it is the king of open world form posts or vids that are not that old. What is the actual state of open world reaper right now ?
Reaper is very solid in all game modes.
If only ress skills could bring Zojja back :(
What infusion is that?
Just reaper form :)
Derp me...
Strong defensive value when you have to see to your own defense.
new player here try this build but i only hit 29k , i guest i need alot of practice
Only 4k less that what's on snowcrows ☠️
More damage is a not dead team mate? I mean.....hopefully?
People say watch Netflix on the other monitor but they never really get the story. Unlike playing something like OSRS and fishing or something.
Yeah, GW2 isn't really a game (for me) that I can play and do something else at the same time. OSRS, though, you can definitely multitask just based on how the game is designed.
So, all these Low Intensity builds. Are these for PvE?
That is the intent yeah
@@MuklukTH-cam Okay cool! Thank you very much for the videos. 😊
After 50% peps can farm Greatsword 2 grave digger, it crits for 20k and it doesn't go on cool down
Aye, but the more time you spend out of shroud your might, vuln, and quickness wear off, so I wouldn't do it for too long
The meta build for reaper is already low intensity lol, same with power DD.
The real question is DOES high intensity reaper exist? :D
Ah yes, the Reaper😌 Still love to switch to this spec from time to time from Harbinger. Speaking of which, Muk would it be possible to make same short guide for this spec? Would be awesome!
