The Gurkha's have always been highly respected -not only in the army but in the Aldershot and district area. There are no racial tensions as idiots who dont know the Town/history try to make out calling it "Nepaldershot". Sad to see how run down the place is. it used to be a hub Town-a big bus station that had buses bringing people into the Town from a wide area;the Town had all sorts of shops, three cinemas.....the Bus station is now closed and buses now only serve to take people out of Aldershot to shop or get entertainment, Can only see it contracting further-shops being pulled down for housing or whatever, and it becoming a small historical Town . sad to say that even Farnborough and Camberley offer a lot more than Aldershot these days-something anyone would have laughed at you if you'd suggested that in the 70's and a fair part of the 80's. The Paras leaving-the Gurkha's moving from Church Crookham, BT and the old Gas Board moving out,the Wellington Centre-which foolishly displaced the historic Aldershot Market-a total white elephant now. The place is as deprived as anywhere in the UK.
hello my name is Paolo and I am Italian, I have a son named Andrea F. who lives there in Aldershot, I have not seen him for more than a year ago the home care assistant who knew him I would like to contact me. Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.
Hello sir ! I’m feeling sad because you’re not seeing your son from a long time and I can understand your feelings sir … I wish your son will see your message and he will contact you as soon as possible. god bless you and your son.
What a transformation. Hardly recognised the old place. One of my last postings was to Aldershot.
