Simple tutorials are always the best. Thanks for keeping it real.
No problem thanks for watching
Thanks, man. It's such an un-intuitive way of having this work. I was wondering what that PIN item in the menu was for, but never bothered to mess around with it since you'd expect the radio to prompt you for a password when pairing with an external bluetooth receiver. But anway. It's working now and I am really grateful.
Finally got it... thanks my dude much appreciated!
Dude thank you so much! I have the same radio and could not get it connected after watching your video all connected thank you 🙏
Changing the Bluetooth code solved my issue, thank you so much!
Thanks man this is probably the 10th time you've helped me. I search your video like hell when I need it lol
Glad I could help
my god, you don’t know how much i appreciate you man. i just spent 30 minutes trying to connect my adapter (a fixd adapter that i got for free, and only use it with 3rd party data apps lmao) to my head unit, same layout and everything as yours, just smaller and sits in the dash, and no matter what i did it just would not pair. changed the device pin to 1234 and it connected in seconds. you’re the fucking goat.
PS, if you still have this head unit, you can enable the button lights by going to settings > factory setting (password is 8888)> button light settings and set it however you like
You welcome
Thx so much! I was trying to pair all day not realizing I had to change the pin.
You are the man, mate! Great video!
Waiting for mine to arrive, thank you so much for the info!!
Super helpful man, thank you so much!
Thank You Sir! Best Regards from Italy 🙌
Great video on it Imma have to check look into bad head unit and check that out too I got the Thornton tuning chip right now and the pedal box. Also new sub to your Channel
Thanks for the support
Thank you for your video I I have benefited.
Dude, so informative I subscribed!!!!
Thanks for the sub!
Lifesaver! Thanks
This would be helpful if you explained how you were able to get aptoide on the head unit. Couldn't figure out anyway... Ended up just going with the OBD2AA method.
Hey can you play Bluetooth music while using the obd2 Bluetooth?
Thanks bro, work on my car
Thank you!! Worked perfectly for me. I have the same android deck

@@kevinmarcus465 I have a different unit for my 2010 Honda civic, but same idea for my android deck

Hello. Have more information about the product ?

Thanks
Thanks man
I believe there's also a way to connect the OBDII port to an Android device via USB as well, which would not require pairing and would probably be more reliable too.
Good man.
Thank you . i have the similare andriod head unit but my head unit seems not possible to use the same bluetooth app u had to connect keep prompting device password fail _ and using auto connect or password both not able to connect BT
Can OBD 2 & phone Bluetooth be connected at the same time to Android Headunit? Mine is TS7
Good
I just thought about doing this and the first video I click on has the radio, I Installed, lol. It's a pretty decent radio, Google Maps lags a bit on the best version without 4g, but it still good with CarPlay
Yeah I think those things are everywhere. I myself have two spare ones in my toolbox. I think I paid $5/each 10 years ago. Exact same one. I don't think they've changed at all in the last decade.
No me funciona la conexión de ECU como la puedo solucionar
If you connect it using the BT. Can you also connect your phone and makes calls with BT?
Yes you can😃👍 make calls
Can u share spec of ur android player? Tq
Hi mate.. I managed to change the pairing code to match that of the scanner..now it's paired but the ECU is still not green.. so any advise? Thank you
Same problem for me..
I have a allwinner t3 k2001-nwd:7.1.1 exdroid board sun8iw11p1 hardware running on android 10 on a 10.1 inch screen..can't get it properly connected...it's paired and should be working, even says it's connected but isn't..won't connect to ecu...obd2 scanner works fine on my phone but not on my radio..
Could you please help me?
I'll make an updated video
@@CROW_BH11 Thanks .. eagerly waiting :)
the only Bluetooth utility i found is just for the phone and audio. and I have android 12. I am an IT guy, but still couldn't connect it.
Me too
Ditto
Do you have to connect the OBD each time your driving or is it a one time thing?
Also is it ok not to disconnect the OBD when your not driving?
You could leave your OBD connected all the time no problem it doesn't train the battery
@@CROW_BH11 cheers for the useful info.
I've had mine in my car for 7 or 8 years now. No issues with the dongle itself or with my battery going flat if I don't drive for a couple of days. Don't stress about it.
I have an older samsung phone, its android but doesn't have Android auto support, if I had a Android head unit in my car could i still do this or would I need a newer phone?
Let me get the straight so you want to use your phone to do this feasure yeah I get a new phone and you will be able to use the feature it connects to Bluetooth so yes
@@CROW_BH11 Sorry for the confusion. I don't want to use my phone, what I mean is if I bought a new radio with android auto could I use this feature even if my phone is to old to use with the android auto feature, basically would the new radio do everything without the use of my phone? Thanks for your help.
@Matt icus oh? Lol yes If it's android yes you can use it no problem
@@CROW_BH11 perfect, thank you!!
Is it Torque Lite version that is free in the AppToy? Thanks
Yes from apptoy free version
Hey mate
Have you tried a USB to OBDII cable plugging into the Headunit?
I just ordered a Atoto S8 Ultra Gen 2, and want to know if it will work with my USB OBD2 Adapter, I don't like how slow Torque is at updating using the Bluetooth OBD2.
Let me know if you've tried with a USB to OBD2 Adapter
No I haven't tried it yet
@@CROW_BH11 I really want to try this. Much faster wired USB instead of Bluetooth
Do you also have the same car? Very weird how I never heard of Atoto before looking online about the most effective way to get my factory stereo louder. Now I’m seeing the name more. Please let me know how the install goes. And if you used the factory amp or bypassed it and used the amp built into your new head unit. I looked up specs for the factory Boston Acoustics setup and the Atoto and wattage was almost the same. So I’m not sure which will sound better. Also a selling point for me was being able to do so much that would otherwise happen on my phone, now will be able right on my car stereo, especially the OBDII app. Very cool. If it all goes to plan.
There is an option in Torque for "faster polling" or something like that which dramatically speeds up the refresh rate of the dials. You can try that too maybe?
@@JP-hr3xq thanks for the reply haha.
I got the Atoto S8 ultra a while ago, and use USB to odb2, it's so much faster than Bluetooth. Very happy with the results
Does this give Tpms sensors readings
I don't think so since it's not a standard OBD2 PID and the dongle itself only reads OBD2 PIDs.
How does the stereo gets its internet service to get the app ?
I have it on my hotspot

can you leave it connected all the time?
Yes no problem
